Hi, HX Edit only shows the 0 - 127 Presets, because that’s the limit on HX Effects. From the HX Effects Owner’s Manual > page 16 The HX Effects device stores up to 32 banks of four presets (A, B, C, and D) for a total of 128 presets. Make sure your HX Edit and Firmware versions are the latest - HX Edit v3.70 and Firmware v3.71. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: You might want to read the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide > pages 9-10 > GUI Overview, along with page 51 > Preferences and About Box > Restore Factory Settings.

O.K. Minor typographic mistake - the page number should have been page 5, but if you had read the manual you would already know that. It is listed on the contents page as “Updating Helix Firmware“. See the Firmware v3.71 Release Notes - Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: Also see this -

Hi, When weird stuff starts to happen the usual first thing to try is to perform a factory reset. On the download page for firmware v3.71 it specifically put a link to follow for the full release notes. It’s always a good idea to read the release notes to avoid unexpected consequences of performing an update, rather than working blindly. Within the Release Notes in the section headed - Updating Helix/HX Hardware (Except For HX One), at point number 3 there are several bullet points explaining the reset procedure for various HX devices. Also point 5 states that you should Restore from your Backup which you should have made prior to attempting to update. There is a further link to follow should you run into trouble. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, again, DO NOT RESET! There is no “bug”! You have stated that you are a new user, please follow the solutions provide by people who are veteran Helix users. Please, read, study and inwardly digest the information provided in the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual by downloading it from the link which I posted in my previous reply above. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Big clue right there! Prior to updating the firmware, HX Edit prompts you to create a backup of all the settings contained in your Helix. As noted by @silverheadin the post above, after updating you can restore all the functions of your hardware to their previous state, including your chosen Expression pedal functions. See page 6 of the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual for more updating firmware info. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050b287e6643b71cda93a/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Nothing really specific, the best info you can get is possibly from the lists on Helix Help. https://helixhelp.com/models Occasionally, you may see a comment over on TGP, where Ben Adrian gives a hint of what inspired certain amp models. Other than that it’s the usual Line 6 approach of saying nothing. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, It states on page 6 of the HX One Owner’s Manual that the LEFT/RIGHT inputs are to be used with stereo input from external stereo devices. Nowhere does it indicate that you can connect two separate mono instruments or pedals. quote: “Connect stereo pedals, keyboards, synths, or modelers to both the L/MONO and RIGHT inputs” It would appear that if you connect, for example a stereo keyboard to the inputs, BUT only have the option of a single output, then the full stereo signal path will be collapsed (folded) to Mono. If you have the option of a second output (to a mixer) you will maintain the stereo signal path. Dunno, seem pretty clear to me. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, The onboard amp and cabs are designed to work with each other, and the other options are the POD Express Black which is loaded with a different bunch of high gain models, or the Bass unit. To clarify- you can mix and match the speaker cabinets, but the seven amplifier choices are built in. This is much the same as other amp simulation devices which are available, and cover the usual, vintage, classic, clean, crunch, basic starting tones. Also, if you want to modify the basic sound you can do this - from the manual. TIP: You can choose “Off” for no Cab model if you plan on sending your device output to an external amplifier or into a Cab simulator/IR loader. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, In that case, you may find this is a great resource for figuring out what, does what! https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050b058066312873a50cf/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf There are also lots of videos out there to assist in getting started with your new toy. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Here ya go! Hope this clarifies how to set your footswitches.

Hi, Prior to updating your device you are advised to create a backup of all your presets and global settings via HX Edit. After updating the firmware, you then have the option to restore these to your unit using HX Edit. You may want to check the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - page 13 - Snapshot Footswitch Mode. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050b287e6643b71cda93a/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Also, check page 66 > Global Settings > Footswitches. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Baffled - Turning up Powerstage volume is lowering Helix LT XLR out....
datacommando replied to gabeausiello's topic in Helix
Hi, This seems to be baffling all the usual forum gurus, and personally I’m also baffled by what you are describing. Thus far, most focus has been put on the SD Powerstage, mixer and the Helix LT. Although, I don’t use them (hate the things), and have no personal experience of IEM, I have seen them mentioned in a couple of the posts in this thread. There is no mention of any specific brand, and/or how they are connected to the signal flow. It’s my understanding that, generally, IEM are fitted with some sort of limiter to protect the user’s hearing. If the IE monitors are the single common factor and have been in use throughout all your tests, then I would be tempted to check out if those are the culprit? It’s the only thing that comes to mind, as the more you crank the input the more gain reduction would be applied to protect your hearing. Hey - just throwing it out there. Possibly as far off the mark as everyone else! Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Insert external tremolo pedal to HX Effects loop, How?
datacommando replied to 886343's topic in Helix
Hi, Oddly enough, I had an email from Line 6 earlier today and it contained a link to this video. The video show a Helix floor but the technique is the same for other units. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, It’s not unknown for some bits to be left behind after simply deleting Native. You might want to take a look at the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide > page 6 > Removing Helix Native https://uk.line6.com/data/6/0a00050b07b166314173f4061/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide 3.70 - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Good to know that have finally been able to achieve your desired result - yay! Have fun using the HX Effects in full stereo!

Yeah, I read the Trade Mark application. Submitted by YGG.

Oh, no! Shock! So, there will be nothing new! We have been duped! Question on TGP - “Any chance Nexus will be wireless?” https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line6-helix.1586637/page-3763#post-39616758 The reply from DI was 2nd October, much later than your links. They are doing something named Nexus.
-
Nope! Helix/HX 3.71 (released Jan 10, 2024) includes additional important bug fixes, and is recommended for all users. SOON! - Although the control tower shows no activity on the runway. NEXUS - where have you been? Digital_Igloo is the man who knows, but he only ever says SOON! Now you know, so don’t hold your breath it will happen when it happens, and BTW new firmware never drops on a weekend. Plus, this is possibly the last place you will hear about a new firmware release - you need to be over on TGP for the inside track on this. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Oh, it can do a lot more than that - checkout Snapshots (page 45) and Command Centre (page 56) Also, it might be advisable to have a read through this:- https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050b287e6643b71cda93a/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense, and welcome to the amazing world of Helix.

Hi, I just looked on IdeaScale and I don’t see your suggestions on there? There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of your suggestion been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/line6/home Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Then you should use this “sticky thread” in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.

O.K. fine, but I have been using my Helix almost daily since October 2015 and I still found things in the book that I was unaware of. Just saying. Maybe you could put a shout out to @craiganderton, and see if he is willing to enlighten you without buying his book.

Volume block on HX effects. Is there a way to keep it always on?
datacommando replied to thaw's topic in Helix
HI, From the procedure described in the HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual > Page 36 > Assigning Switches in Signal Flow View. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050e070d666767d27e720/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf "By default, bypass toggling the effect via EXP 1 or EXP 2 is configured for “heel down = off” behavior. To reverse bypass behavior, press FS3. In such a case, the block will be bypassed when moving the expression pedal past the configured Position location. Since it is possible to configure the bypass of multiple blocks to be assigned to an expression pedal, you can set each block’s Position value differently, thereby allowing the pedal to turn some blocks on and others off at different positions in the pedal’s travel. You can change additional bypass behaviors for the selected block within the Signal Flow view by touching FS2 and accessing both pages’ parameters." Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Assign expression pedal in snapshots on Hx Effects

Happy to help! :) -
Hi, Possibly the best way to find answers to these sort of questions is to invest in buying this handy dandy guide to the workings of Helix. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AndertonHX-e--sweetwater-publishing-the-big-book-of-helix-tips-and-tricks It's full of interesting information, including complete descriptions of Helix effects parameters Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, The reason you have never seen it done is because it is not possible, and the reason you cannot find any resources is because they don’t exist. MIDI functions on the Helix are fairly basic, no SYSEX etc. The thread about “Notes” was started by someone requesting the feature to be implemented - if it were possible. Requests for features to be considered for possible future updates need to be logged on IdeaScale. There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of your suggestion been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/line6 Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Then you should use the “sticky thread” in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. The full list of MIDI functions can be found on page 72 of the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00050b287e6643b71cda93a/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
