Have you checked to see that you are getting MIDI clock at the end of your USB cable (checked with a MIDI monitor)? RxMIDI Clock turned on in Global Settings? MIDI channels matched?

I'd try soldering a paper clip between R143 and D27. That should make it work good!

When in Snapshot Mode on a Stomp, I thought all three buttons LEDs (and the button text on the display) were supposed to be white. On my Stomp, the 2nd button is red on all of my presets! Is there someway to turn the button back to white (other than a hard reset)?

I just bought a gently used Stagesource L2t for $550. I'm really happy with it because its so darned versatile. I have a mixer-based setup for live solo performance, so I can feed all my inputs into my mixer, then the mixer into the Line In on the L2t. OR if I just want to do acoustic guitar with vocal, the built in mixer is excellent. OR if I want to just play my Stomp through it as an amp/cabinet, it sounds excellent! OR if I want to set it up on the deck and play an iPhone through it at a party, it sounds excellent! Its light, compact and easy to move around. The only thing I wouldn't recommend it for would be live bass guitar performance (the subs aren't big enough for that).

Thanks for sharing that. So it would be best to shop for a used device for which the owner guarantees the HXN discount was not used (then consider asking for the serial number to verify verify this with Line 6). Or, if the user has never registered the device with Line 6 (and they are the original owner), the discount will still be available. Or, if it is registered, the seller should be able to show you on their Line 6 account if the HXN discount hasn't been used. Either way, look before you leap!

That's a very good question. It seems like a reasonable request, but the discounted license may not be transferable. There has been ongoing confusion about the ins and outs and rules of the Helix Native discount "attached" to a device. I suggest you open a support ticket with Line 6, give them the specifics, and make the request. I had a similar question last year, and they got back to me within a day or two.

Find a Helix Floor that the buyer guarantees was not used (via registered serial number) to buy Helix Native. You can also ask Line 6 to check the serial number to be sure. You would then be eligible to buy a Helix Native license at the deep discount ($99, which drops to $79 when Line 6 is running a deal, such as Black Friday).

All the above. Check voltage from power supply with a voltmeter. Jiggle the Stomp on/off switch. And for sure check power at the wall plug. If you've checked all the obvious, then it doesn't sound good. It doesn't sound at all.

"Wait Time" setting slipped by me. Good to know it exists if its ever needed. Still, that could only account for up to a 1 second delay, not the 5 seconds hes reported. That's crazy. Could be a wormhole.

Logic Pro. Its a standard set of buttons that appears above the current plug-in window...

Of course if you really get down to it, you need a sound engineer out front who can not only shoot out the PA, but also tweak the EQ of every channel to fit the room acoustics. I don't have a sound engineer. I don't even have a roadie. So I made 6 EQ smiley curves (from flat to drastic) for my PA that I can use at a gig. That as close to a bag of magic as I'm gonna get for now. A few years ago I used a dBX Driverack which I would use to "pink" a room. It would level out the PA EQ using pink noise and a calibrated RTA mic. It worked amazingly well and the result sounded pristine. But there were usually people in the venues I played so it annoying. But if you are setting up good sound at a venue before people show up, its pretty darned cool magic.

That's wacky. It's not normal for MIDI commands to be delayed. Make sure you don't have any sort of send/receive loops going on (enable Rx and enable Tx set on multiple MIDI devices). I can't imagine what might cause such a delay. MIDI commands are sent instantly from my Stomp running 3.11. Have you tried other troubleshooting? For example, hook up just your Helix to MIDI monitor software running on a computer, via USB and test.

All my old stereos back in the 70s had a LOUDNESS switch on them intended for making things sound better at low volumes. It basically turned up the bass and treble, but perhaps they mysteriously applied a carefully calibrated Fletcher Munson curve. I like the idea of a volume knob that would compensate the EQ as you turned it up or down. Seems like a simple thing to engineer. And perhaps something easy to market. Like laundry detergent magic crystals.

I use an app that sends the Helix Tap Tempo command (CC 64, 64) on quarter notes (from MIDI clock). This is the same as tapping the Tap Tempo button. It takes about 10 seconds to accurately lock onto the tempo, and its precise for me. After 10 seconds, you can stop sending the messages and Helix will retain that tempo until you reset it, or select another preset.

This is a really old thread, but I'll add a comment in case someone is doing searches. I used an HX Effects for years for acoustic guitar (winery/coffee shop gigs), but sold it and got an HX Stomp after Line 6 added Command Center support. I love the size of the unit, it has everything I need for acoustic guitar tones (I don't use the amp/cabs), its smaller than the HX Effects, and I think the resale market will be lots larger than that for the HX Effects should I ever want to sell it. For me, its perfect.

For those of us who rehearse in a small space who can't turn things up, but play at louder volumes (and have good EQ software for their monitors/PA) I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with applying a sort of Fletcher Munson EQ curve to simulate volume change effects? Did a little digging, and found this discussion on the Kemper site: https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/index.php?thread/11631-fletcher-munson-curve-eq-for-playing-at-different-volume-levels/ and found other threads about others doing similar stuff for different applications (including mastering and live performance. If I free up some time I may experiment a bit....

Here's what worked best, and its easy to set up and tweak: split the path after the amp, and on the lower path add - a Simple Delay set to eighth notes (synced), 100% mix, 0% feedback - a second Simple Delay, set to 1/32 triplets (synced), 100% mix, 0% feedback. This works because the first delay is providing a precise eighth note delay (0% swing). You don't hear it, but its passed on the second delay which then delays the eighth note by a little bit more, to provide the % swing needed. The time increment of the second delay can be adjusted as needed to obtain the amount of swing needed (use ms for you need greater precision). Then blend in the level of the final delay back into the main path as needed.
-
Thanks all ... I'll experiment with these suggestions today.
-
I'm trying to set up a guitar tone that is synced with tempo and pulses with swing eighth notes. A delay or tremelo fx would work, but are there any effects in Helix that have a swing parameter?
-
Many have complained. Nothing has changed. Your only solution (for now) is to rename them.

You'll save a lot of headaches if you just invest in an official Apple camera connection kit. It just works. I recommend the USB 3 model ... it costs more but it will keep your Ipad mini charged during performances.

MidiPad 2 is currently my favorite free controller app. Its customizable, low latency, and supports CC, notes, program changes, etc. It'll turn your tuner on and off in the wink of an eyeball.

Is Monkey Supported for Mac OS These Days?
soundog replied to JScotty317's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Hmmmm. Many (most?) hardware and software vendors added support for 64-bit when OSX evolved to Catalina. It surprised me that Line 6 did not for certain things. I'm guessing that not adding 64-bit (for Monkey and Workbench legacy) was a cost and testing resource decision.
