  1. How much to buy 2.8? One million dollar.... Ok, then how much to rent 2.8? One million dollar...
  2. Same BS the bosses at work try when they step on their own (input your phrase here) and we just snicker at them and go on.
  3. Yes, we are because it's a popular instrument. But when I pick up my guitar I don't concern myself with that. I play for me. Can't afford to do otherwise because Id starves to death. You see I love and play mostly blues-rock. Nothing wrong with that. Except I live in a place that has two kinds of music. Country, and Western. You could be Jimi Hendrix here and not have steady work lol.
  4. Exactly. When starting out the easier it is on your fingers the more you will "spank the plank".
  5. I'm sure you will find out when the rest of us do. ; )
  6. My 1st electric was bought from Levines and was called a Marquis. I could have shot arrows at the 12th fret because the strings were so high on it. My feelings are that if you start out by playing the guitar that is easier to play on from the beginning, you will practice longer (and get better sooner) because it hurts your fingers less. That doesn't mean you need to start playing on a 4500 dollar PRS, but I think you shouldn't have to start out on a Marquis either. ; )
  7. They actually "did" put a tuner in the Firehawk 1500 editor! NEEENERRR NEEENERRRR ; )
  8. Participation Trophies are for wuzz'es, wannabees, and people who want a tuner in the editor! errrr...
  9. Well, first the earth cooled... Then came the pod. Then the Pod Pro. Then the different combos. Then came the "Flagship" Vetta, and Vetta 2 combo (which I still have) and head... The Variax is in here somewhere- Then the HD series floor and rack with Dream rig technology with the DT series amps. Then all the renditions of Helix boxes where L6-Link was downgraded but I'm not supposed to say that- oops... ; )
  10. Here's hoping we get more lightning bolts in the patch!!!!
  11. For my studio, the PC+ pair is loud enough. I'm going more for "tone" than volume and not in a band setting.
  12. Needed? I've not read where it is needed to break in the speaker/driver, but it won't hurt to run it and see.
  13. The "dead" of winter...., in Australia. Well, that's close to spring lol. Thanks for the update!
  14. He was but they had to let him go. Every time he went and walked down hail damage claims the clients heard T H U N D E R!
  15. Oh, yea- that's a BIG one. The room's acoustics will change from empty to full no matter how well it's built for sound. Headphones just don't account for that.
  16. Oh I know that Brue. You do it the same reason that I do it. It's a challenge and a whole lotta fun! That hoop comment I made was for them and I didn't explain that well I'm afraid. It was for those like you mentioned- that smugly listen only because they happen by, that have no idea the number of hours we have sat in a dim-lit room practicing our skills till our ears rang & fingers hurt (and destroying the vinyl and needle doing it). The hoops I used to jump thru to please those like that are over for me. I just don't do anymore. If I like how it sounds that all thats needed for me. But that "hoop" comment was not directed at you. ; )
  17. OK damnit, now what was the topic again???
  18. Just tweak a patch with a simple amp block and a cab block. Use your ears close yer eyes and tweak the Bass, Mid and Treble until without looking at the freeking numbers, until it sounds good to you. DO NOT re-postion the numbers after viewing them being way off (worst mistake you can make setting tone with your eyes instead of your ears). Then (and ONLY then) start adding FX.
  19. Many MANY extra nice Guitars is not the same as owning too many amps. Guitars are needed thing, as is AIR. There. Any more questions?
  20. Agreed- being able to mimic well (and know when you are doing it) AND at the drop of a hat where needed would be the ultimate in fun!
  21. Limitations in gear per person (pocketbook) are always as diverse and variable as good tone is. Grats to those richer and more importantly more talented, than I am. ; )
  22. Nothing wrong with the fun of experimenting with or having both. "AFAIC", they are all gifts from Heaven even if money was involved in the purchase, and I love every amp and modeler I own! ; )
  23. What's yer address I'm coming over...
  24. That's one of the reasons I now play only to please myself. Oh, I don't mind playing out, but if I like it that's all that counts to me, and I will know if its good or not. Brue It's great that you have the skillset to mimic the hands of other wonderfully good players, but the hoops you just described jumping thru just to impress them is more than I care to mess with. But Im glad they liked it... ; )
  25. You have renamed SNAPSHOT 3 to "Overdrive" and in it, you have engaged an OD pedal in the patch. In turning that snapshot on you have engaged an overdrive pedal, but now you find you don't need that anymore. You want to remove "SNAPSHOT 3" 's function and put it back like it was before you messed with it. Easy. Just disengage the overdrive pedal in the patch (or remove it completely from the patch), and then rename the "Overdrive" snapshot back to what it was- "SNAPSHOT 3". Hope this helped.
