One other thing no so apparent here about the PC+ (I didn't realize this at 1st either when I got mine) is that you can turn the volume all the way down on the Powercab plus and still "monitor" it's sound (using the XLR out) in all its speaker/mic emulation glory into your DAW and studio monitors!!!
  3. That's why I didn't mention the Powercab Plus and went the Matrix route. But its more than an FRFR speaker, much more in fact. It has its own speaker and mic emulations with mic distances, and with L6-Link you can control what you want per patch in Helix. I know you like the HotRod Deluxe, but the Powercab Plus is worth investigating. GO to the Line 6 site or Youtube and start reading! It's worth your time. And finally, yes some of this stuff is expensive, but unless you have a buddy that in the music business that can get it for you wholesale it is what it is. That said, the Powercab Plus isn't that much considering what it can do now that the 2.8 patch fixed L6-link.

    Just a thought

Cru your phone today could have run every system in the LEM and then some. And yet, today I'm hearing theres issues about going back? Doesn't make any sense.
  6. Great- can u edit the post to say "Solved" now? Thanks
  7. Also, check the gate. Mine was up higher (on some patches) than I remembered setting it before the patch.
  8. Not having to run midi cables now and having L6-Link functional is just wonderful! Still looking for that tuner in the editor thou... ; )
  9. One other thing I just found (duh), the "edited" speaker emulation (patch) on the PC+ is NOT volatile. I powered the PC+ off last night and back on just now, and the "Edited" message appeared again on the LCD on both of my PC+'s. When I hit select the last Cab picked in the Helix patch was still there on both! I guess it might be silly if it was like RAM, but still nice. They put some thought into this.
  10. Thanks for confirming that this is not on my end. OK and I understand this as you cant write over the Cabinet software in this way, but I wish that they (Line-6) would have explained this a bit better in the upgrade writeup under PC +'s, because had I not looked at the current cab after hitting the "select" switch on both PC+ units, I would never have known if it did indeed switch to the cabs I selected in HX-Edit. Obvious for some I guess, but not to me. The only clue was that it said: "edited". I worked back and forth for around 3 hours yesterday before I figured this out when a small paragraph (about 15 seconds for someone fast) on how this "specifically" worked now could have saved me (and maybe others) some time. Yea, I know they were busy and I appreciate everything- so don't anyone get their panties in a wad. ; ) Thanks again PierM for confirming.
  11. Both my pair of PC+ and Helix updated successfully from the latest patch yesterday. After setting up a couple of patches in Helix and switching between them the speaker emulations on both PC+ units do change to the ones I picked in HX Edit, but both my PC+'s also go into "Edit" mode. The "name" of the older emulated speaker is on the display along with the word "edited". Was this intended or is something wrong? Edited: Thanks to PierM for the explanation- done so that the cab settings does not overwrite itself and instead goes into an edit mode- Its By design and not on my end.
  12. Helix and the PC_ pair updated just fine- Kudos to Line 6 for the detailed info. I set Helix to midi channel 5, the 1st PC+ to midi channel 6 and the second PC+ to Midi channel 7. I can't seem to set Helix up where either or both PC+'s selects the speaker/s. Settings or a link, please? Any help to get thru the fog-? thanks. EDITed: I finally got both PC+ cabs to switch cabs thru Helix, but it's doing it in a strange way, in that the settings on both PC+ cabs go into an "edited" condition (with the same name as before) but have switched to the selected cab on the patch. You can see that they switched by hitting the "select" button on the PC+ and the cab u selected is there. Is this by design? Picky I guess, but I would have liked the cab name to switch to what I picked per patch, instead of going into edit mode. A bit confusing at first. Am I seeing this right? What I am asking is, when you switch speaker emulations per patch on the PC+ from Helix, is this supposed to put the PC+ in "Edited Mode"?
  13. Two issues- No, feedback doesn't but you said your "noise" gates would mess up (at least I think that's what you meant). Extra dirt on the AC line can cause a set noise gate elsewhere to open. And I had one of those pink noise generators on our PA where we could EQ the room with a special mic before the show and yes that should have "fixed" most of the EQ issues, so I don't know why there is more feedback at the 2 places. Extreme - but do you run line conditioners on your gear?
  14. No way. Not today. Nothing happens at NAMM... ; P
  15. Dirty power can cause lots of weird stuff. Florissant lights can cause noise and mess with gates too.

    16 Hours and....

Especially here... Oh, you meant there!!! Never been fortunate enough to go see it. Of course, the 2.8 patch won't drop there either. It will be on the updater. ; )
  17. I can't get the same tones from Native that I can from Helix. Probably just me, as some say that they can. That said, the "other" difference is that Helix can be (with all of its Aux in's and out's) the center of your guitar rig with all your pedals etc etc. Native is, well, software.
  18. Yes after 2.8 u won't need midi to do this!
  19. The Code sounds good to me. Very decent Marshall tones from the Head I have. BTW- a while back I ran Helix into the "return" of my Vetta II combo and with a little tweaking it sounded great!

    16 hours and 33 minutes until 2.8 errrr, NAMM!!! ; ) https://www.namm.org/
  21. What Steve said^^^ AES/EBU cable all the way so that you can change the speaker models on the PC+ "per-patch" ~!
  22. Only those with TDS can be affected by it. ; ) No, we were talking about a new Pedal with a "Time Delay System" developed by the "Trum Piano" company.... Jeeezzzz...; P
  23. Finding a really good sound guy is almost like finding a whole bag of money that just fell off the armored truck. Very RARE. I was fortunate to know a couple of them in my 30+ years of playing out.
