  1. Yes, they are very different. Just like the true amps would be. Different preamp and power amp configurations will cause significant volume differences. It is normal. Just tweak channels A and B accordingly when you switch between. Be cautious when making topology changes with the channel volumes and master volume up, as it can surprise you. Enjoy the DT/HD combo. I love mine!
  2. Darn. I'm looking for a cab to throw my spare v30 in. Oh well.
  3. I hope your new gear serves you better and meets your needs! Happy hunting!
  4. My wife is a living breathing example of this. She can sit at the computer and follow instructions step by step and it will crash, freeze, or just sit there. I walk up and do the same steps and it works. This has been an ongoing joke in our relationship for years.
  5. Ya, I looked it up after I posted. One would assume it will work fine. I hope you find a simple solution.
  6. Wrong forum.. Post this in the HD forum since that's where your gripe lies. They will tell you the same thing there I'm telling you here: Guess it's not the product for you. Move on and good luck with your future purchases. I'd question your treatment of gear if you've had 3 different items all fail. What's the common factor in all 3 products? That said, I hope you find something that better suits your uses. Sorry for your bad luck.
  7. No. It requires midi and a computer to change amps in the DT25. If you are simply changing low/mid/high/gain, then yes. To actually change amp MODELS, no.
  8. I guess it depends on your channel volume as well. I have dealt with the same issue and just chalked it up to having an extra master volume knob when using the pod. There's some magic they aren't telling us about in regards to L6 link.
  9. Why does your foot switch need batteries? It should be a strictly mechanical switch. Never heard of such a thing. Try a traditional 1 or 2 button foot switch.
  10. Save the coin. For noodling around the house it will serve you fine. Maybe wait another generation and then revisit the question, but for now it will work just fine.
  11. Never heard of such a thing. All the Pod does is use the signal fed into it. I'd look at cabling or either of the pedals before the Pod. Good luck!
  12. No. You must go between two presets with different buttons.
  13. I think it will be the "Criminal with delay" for how long it took to release it. :P
  14. I'm still waiting for my TurboMan action figure.
  15. Can we get them to sticky this?
  16. I see they removed the independent sticky posts about the firmware updates for the tuner bug for both X and vanilla Pods. Did they combine them because a new update is coming soon, or is it just to tidy up sticky posts? I think a 5150 is coming! Maybe I'm just dreaming.
  17. Putting it in front of the SLO overdrive channel gives me instant brown sound with my guitar. LP with 57 classic/+. I actually discovered it when I was trying to make a model sound similar to an Orange OR15.
  18. Sounds grindy! That just direct? I never record to my PC so I don't know what to expect tone wise from direct recordings. Got some good bite to it!
  19. If you want sizzle from the JCM and tube screamer, set your tubescreamer up with bass at about 75, tone at 100, and treble at 80-90. Put gain at 20 and output at 100. This setting makes just about every amp come alive. Might do what you are trying to do with the comp. I use this on all my high gain amps to push them over the top. Try it and see if it helps.
  20. That's a lot of gain coupled with a very bright compressor pedal. Of course it's going to feed back. You need to build your patches at gig volume due to Fletcher/Munson curve and all that jazz. You need less highs as volume increases. That high of a noise floor coupled with compression and boosted treble is a recipe for feedback. Adjust your gain and treble settings at gig volumes to help tame that. Also, a hard gate noise gate fairly early in the chain can help cut the squeal depending on where you place it. Between comp and screamer or between screamer and amp are both viable options.
  21. I run it in vertical strips if I remember right. I will take a look when I get home from work and see. I hate peeling it off because I have to remove my cables that are wire tied in place but I will see if I can do it in an easy way
  22. I remember reading somewhere that changing patches on the 500 while connected to Edit causes very slow patch change response times. This may affect the power section of the DT in a negative way if it is receiving class and topology information in a delayed fashion. I never use Edit as I find it much easier to work with the Pod itself so I can't give firsthand experience on that. I usually use the same topology for all my patches just to minimize the chance for unwanted noises. In short: I'm guessing it's a communication delay issue.
