2 score and 7 years....I have posted from my phone, but now it's just too hard to see it because my arm isn't long enough. :D

You can do it, but you "might" need a little gear to help out (maybe not, see later in the post).... Basically, what you are saying you want to do is trigger a sequence of midi events (CC, PC etc) from a PC change initiated on the HD if I am understanding your post... A powerful option In terms of performing, I would recommend you check out a midi event processor: http://www.midisolutions.com/prodepp.htm A simple extra midi thru or out. http://www.midisolutions.com/prodthr.htm I am not sure which amp you have, but I think on some of them you can record the PC changes and assign the amp channel....I am not sure if it would make send to just loop the whole rig....If the amp midi out can be a thru or the out has switch to make it a thru and the amp can record PC changes for channel assignments, you might could wire this way... HD midi out->amp midi in amp midi thru->HD midi in

Modelers are like women....You turn them upside down, and they all look like sisters... ;) Other guitarist in my band uses the AXE2 with the new fancy footcontroller....I think it sounds great....Comments we get from the band is "You guys have those guitars dialed in"...If we swapped rigs, we would get a similar result...

Can you post a pic? If it is returnable to your retailer (usually 30 days)....I recommend exchanging it... You could try flashing the unit in Safe Mode.... Connect USB between PC and HD Hold down arrow while powering up HD Open Current Version of Monkey and update firmware.

I own(ed): AX2 (15 years old) I sold this one....The guy who has it is still using it... Flextone III XL (10 years old) Spider Valve MK1 (8 years old) Spider Valve MK2 (5 years old) DT-50 (5 years old) DT-25 (4 years old) I think the amps are really solid....I have been using them for a while now....

Anyone run their HD500X into the effects return of a guitar amp?
spaceatl replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in POD HD
That's how I run. I use an HD Desktop and Shortboard as I prefer the formfactor as it's a little easier to tweak... -
I have a similar problem....I have a bean and I use medium output pups (Fred and HFH)....Anyway, what I find helps the most is setting input 2 to Mic and turn the trim all the way down...Next, if you are using FULL amp models, turn the MASTER DEP down a bit....There are a good many models where the MASTER DEP default is just too high and there is a lot of crossover distortion (JCM800 model is notable for this)....Increasing the bias also helps the get rid of the xover distortion...some people call it digital clipping...anyhoo, xover distortion is petty nasty sounding... Lastly, turn down the RES DEP on the cab model....A combination of those things generally tames the fizz for me....This varies a bit model to model, but generally that works for me...

Recording rehearsals again.
spaceatl replied to actdmusic's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
My M20d just arrived today. My band has always recorded rehearsals to my old 2 track flash recorder. I have pretty decent analog setup with 24 channel console, dbx comps, gates, Effectron delays, SPX 990s, etc...The workflow is great...just track tunes and send out mp3s the next day....However, we are now approaching tracking time and I did not want to track to the DAW as the workflow for doing that sucks and it can be a vibe killer at times....Anyway, the m20d seems perfect for what we need and we can keep the same workflow as we do with the 2 track setup, but get all the tracks and get rid of all the analog gear...I am really excited to get started with this thing... -
Reverse the Min and Max....Set the Max to 0% and Min to where you want to go...The glide is reversed, so it takes a bit to get used to it, but it works....I have used that approach covering some of those White Stripes tunes...
-
Double check all of your settings in the System Setup pages....If you followed the recommendations and reset the global variables in your POD, then all of the global setup values are initialized...InputZ and output mode are the main ones to check that they are how your prefer them to be.

I have the FBV Shortboard (MK2 also)....It works great with my HD Bean...Should not be any different with a HD Pro X...One thing to check is the pedal calibration....The reflector sometimes bends slightly with wear to the point it won't calibrate correctly....I have had to straighten mine once in 10 years....still works great and the display kills the MK2....

+1 on the Vintage Pre with the rest of the chain empty....Mic Preamp is what that one is made for...

DT50 has a noisefloor that is a bit higher than the DT25....I have both a DT50 112 and a DT25 head/cab...The EH12AX7s were my problem in my DT50....It was noisy the day I got it and after some consult with some of the Line 6 engineers I switched out the 12AX7s for Mesa SPAX7s....Night and Day....With the stock EH 12AX7s it's not usable and annoying... I have been an engineer for many many years and I really do not understand why this Line 6 tech that is new to the forums comes off talking about how these amps are designed for certain tubes that are matched in non-linear regions....I guess he is paid to scare those that don't know better...I think he is just tired of seeing the stupif lollipop people do with their amps...That was true 40 years ago and it's still just a true today...just now there are more dumb people that have access to Google... I have been running my DT50 on Mesa tubes for nearly 5 years....current set is over 2 years old....That is the reason I use them....I have been using them in ALL of my amps since the mid-80s....I trust Robotube as I used to get the curve-traces from them back in the day... The DT25 is quieter....The main reason is that it has a solid-state buffer feeding the phase inverter....DT50 has a 12AX7 single triode buffer for that and that is always going to have more noise than SS...In my own opinion, the DT50 has a bit more mojo than the DT25....DT25 is just a bit underpowered for band situations IMHO...clean tones don't spank as well as they do in the DT50...That's just power...

Spider Valve MkII HD100 tube issues - questions.
spaceatl replied to Faerwald's topic in Spider Valve
New Sensor (Sovtek) 5881WXT is actually a 6ÃŽ 3C-E and nothing like a real 5881....It's more like a 6L6 actually.....A JJ 5881 is actually a real one...23 watts and SV's plate voltage is too high for it...a mistake to put real 5881s in an SV.... The following branded tubes are the same 6ÃŽ 3C-E bottle...... Fender 6L6 Precision Matched Tubes (5881WXT) Fender GT-6L6B or 6L6R (5881WXT) Groove Tubes GT-6L6B or GT-6L6R (5881WXT) Marshall 5881 (5881/6L6 WGC) Mesa Boogie STR425 (5881/6L6 WGC) Ruby Tubes 6L6R (5881/6L6 WGC) Sovtek 5881/6L6 WGC Sovtek 5881WXT -
phase does exactly what any phase switch on a mic or channel strip does...It reverses the polarity of the signal....It's a pretty DSP expensive block to use just for that...but in a straight simple single tone patch, it could help with you guitar blending with another guitar player...Handy if you are in a mix yourself situation...That is actually part if the reason I have it on nearly every patch I have turn up the gain just below the point where it starts breaking up and adjust the output to adjust the level so that when you take it in and out it is the same volume....The amount of compression is very subtle in this use and for me it is perfect....It actually makes for a decent boost on clean to slightly dirty tones where you might want to drive the amp into breakup with the output and the HPF and LPF filters come in handy for this as you can turn it into a band-pass mid boost sorta like the mid-focus EQ, but with the nice color the pre has and a decent capacity to drive an amp model. Another use of the HPF and LPF filters if to tune the bandwidth to around 80 Hz to 6K or so....That is basically the bandwidth of most 12 inch speakers (standard tuned low E is around 82 Hz)....If I am drop tuned, this certainly changes a little bit on the lower side....But I find that if I tame the bandwidth response of the guitar a bit before it hits the rest of the chain that it makes for less radical EQ in the amp model...I prefer to attenuate thing a little bit along the chain...

This is a contradiction....You must be new... http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/74881/ -
One thing I can think of might be your InputZ setting...This is actually an analog circuit that will vary the impedance of the GTR input based on what is first in the chain if it is set to auto....While that is kinda cool for recreating the tone suck of a CryBaby that is kinda helpful with a standard strat or really bright guitar I tend to keep in manual and set it to 1M or 3.6M....Not sure if this is you problem, but something to check out perhaps. In terms of using the script, I would like to have a mix control on it....I know that isn't the same as a real phase 90, but it's a little too much for my taste. However, when I do use it, it tend put it after the amp on the A chain with an analog delay in front of it (some really light 300 ms or so echo)....I center the mixer pans and use chain B to get the dry level where I want it in relation to the A chain that is the wet FX...That tends to keep some life in the tone for me...

no update needed....New models only in the HD PODS....

I am not really a heavy compressor user, but I do not like the Line 6 comps all that much...Never really have. The HD comps do seem to be a bit better than they were in XT, but I don't think they are great....At least not great for me as far as guitar comps go....When I need a comp for guitar, I tend to use my Strymon OB.1....How I wish they make a model that responds like that pedal does... I do think that HD needs a couple of "track compressor" types....An optical type with standard thresh, ratio, attack, release and level....A Demeter HXC-1 would be pretty crazy to have...A VCA type with thresh, ratio, 3-4 speed settings and level would be great to have also...IOW, a dbx 160...These type of compressors would really make sense for Acoustic, vocals and bass or getting an electric a bit more mix ready on the tail end for FRFR cats...maybe one day they will give us some of the comps out of the M20 mixer... In terms of knocking down some transients a bit and mildly shaping the guitar bandwidth a bit before it gets to the amp model, I really like the results I get with the Vintage Pre...The HPF and LPF are pretty handy for getting the guitar prepared for the amp model which helps in making the tone stack a little less radical...

Massive feedback when plugging Pod HD Desktop into Amp
spaceatl replied to Dougal1709's topic in POD HD
I have been running that way for years with my HD Desktop....Was this a high gain tone, a clean tone or both....If the amp is squealing on a clean tone, it could be a bad cable, but more likely bad tubes....If clean tones are sounding good and your problem is high gain and uncontrollable squeal....Most likely it's your pickups are not potted properly or the potting has degraded...gain down a bit or a Hard Gate on the front of the chain might help....just guessing.... -
Spider Valve MkII HD100 tube issues - questions.
spaceatl replied to Faerwald's topic in Spider Valve
As I recall, impedance doubles when you take two tubes out of a four tube push-pull power amp....Not recommended... 4 ohm output becomes 8 ohms nominal 8 ohm output becomes 16 ohms nominal 16 ohm output becomes 32 ohm nominal If you do this, and 8 ohm load in the 4 ohm output is technically, the safer bet....Still not something I would do...
