  1. I think you mean Line 6 Central, not Update. Central is its replacement.
  2. From the manual: Each Matrix layer provides real-time metering, level, pan, mute and solo control over the 4 stereo paths on the Home > Edit screen, 8 stereo tracks on the Song screen, Click, Count In, USB In 1/2 (for monitoring your DAW), Bluetooth audio (for jamming along with Apple Music®, Spotify®, or YouTube™), and Aux In. A matrix layer refers to the physical Outputs, 1/4”, XLR, and Phones. So the quote suggests you can have different Song mixes for each output but you can’t have different mixes for different Songs using the same output.
  3. That’s curious. I didn’t think you could update or replace individual Song tracks. In fact, the manual states this: Audio tracks cannot be added to a song that already exists in Helix Stadium. Please let us know how you are able to do this. AFAIK you can only modify existing Song audio by recreating the Song from scratch i.e. uploading all tracks/stems again in a new (no flags) Song. Perhaps for the first of your 3-part feature request should actually be the ability to add or replace individual Song tracks. If implemented I expect it would be done in a manner that retains Song flags. You can submit official feature requests to Line 6 here: https://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/
  4. Make sure your Stadium device is connected to WiFi and that you are logged in to your Line 6 account on the device.
  5. Yeah, you need Workbench for that, and Helix doesn’t help. If you are able to get the custom tunings into your Variax 600 models then you will probably be able to recall them using Helix stored data.
  6. I doubt that any of the new Agoura amps in Stadium will migrate back to OG Helix. It’s a whole new modeling technology and likely not backwards compatible. Remember when the new POD HD modeling technology was introduced? Those amps were never made available in the previous POD XT/X3 devices. I know that a new OG Helix update has been promised but I don’t think it will be substantial.
  7. So do I. But I use the ones in the upgraded cab engine in Helix. Each different setting is actually a separate IR and the user interface is simply a convenient way to organize, access and audition them all. To me it’s a huge improvement in sound and usability from the old engine. Since that time I haven’t bothered with other 3rd party IRs. Accessing and auditioning them is a huge waste of time imho.
  8. No, the Stadium app is an editor/librarian program. It’s not a plug-in. There is no plugin (yet?) for the Stadium/Agoura amp DSP algorithms or clones. I wouldn’t rule it out,but not now. Similary, HX Edit is not a plug-in.
  9. I have begun to update firmware directly using the Stadium device. I found that both Line 6 Central and the app involved the lengthy and unnecessary step of having to transfer the update file over USB from the computer to the device after downloading it from the server. Using the device avoids the transfer step; the update file is downloaded from the server over WiFi and is available immediately on the device to begin the update process. No need to transfer it from the computer and presumably no need for USB connection either. Of course the app needs to be updated using the computer.
  10. Yes I used to hear a single soft click from my JTV-59 when my Helix Rack was turned on. It wasn’t loud or alarming and there were no problems so I assumed it was normal, related to the power reaching the JTV over VDI - like a power switch. I ignored it and never had any related symptoms.
  11. Helix does not support pre-JTV Variax models. Not officially at least. I have a Variax 300 that turns out to be partly compatible. I can manually program the Variax model selection as part of a Helix preset and store it. Upon recall the Variax 300 responds correctly and selects the stored model when the preset is loaded in Helix. But that’s it - no 2-way communication; the Helix does not recognize any changes made on the Variax guitar. I think you should open a support ticket to see if it’s possible to connect your 600 to Workbench without the hardware interface. Helix can’t do it.
  12. Neither Stadium unit, Floor or XL, has gapless preset switching. Switching snapshots within a preset is gapless. The specs of the two units will show you the hardware differences, the most significant non-I/O difference being lack of scribble strips on the Floor. On the other hand, it has Play View and I’ve seen some requests for that from XL owners. Otherwise it’s an I/O, form factor and cost decision.
  13. I have moved this post to the Promote Your Patches area where your other similar posts are.
  14. 1. No special care required when using headphones. 2. No, the display screen can’t be disabled while the device is powered on. Turn it off when not in use. 3. Very subjective. Personally I usually apply a high cut filter at around 10-12Khz in the guitar cab block, sometimes lower.
  15. There’s a banner at the top of this page explaining that License Manager is retired, and the alternative.
  16. Do you have a license/purchase for POD Farm 2? What happens when you try to run it, either standalone or as a DAW plugin? btw… Monkey and License Manager are now retired. See banner at top of this page.
  17. Do you mean Customtone presets? Or from a different source? In either case I’m not aware of any tool such as you describe.
  18. Check this again after the next update. If not fixed submit a bug report.
  19. I’m not sure it’s relevant in your case but be aware that Stadium implements a different approach to presets and setlists. The USER preset area contains the only actual instance of a preset; a setlist contains ‘aliases’ to the presets, not a copy of the presets. The Setlist section of the manual is worth a read in the context of what you’re doing.
  20. Yes. You use the Stadium app running on your computer to export Setlists and USER presets to a folder on your computer. Then you swap devices and use the app again to import them to the other Stadium device.
  21. Stadium can import individual IR wav files, but not the set of IRs contained in a Helix Bundle or Backup file. Here’s a potential workaround for IRs: 1) In Helix Edit go to the IR area. Select all IRs and export them all in a single operation to a specific folder on your computer. 2) In the Stadium app go to the empty IR library window. 3) In the IR computer folder Select All wav files. 4) Drag/Drop the set of all selected individual wav files into the Stadium IR library in a single operation.
  22. I can’t recommend either one over the other because both are excellent choices. In terms of “good amp simulation, realistic tone generation, ease of editing, and consistent performance.” they are very similar. Both are based on the same amp/FX modeling technology; both can be edited using the device itself or similar computer programs; both can be used as an audio interface for recording purposes. The POD Go has a wireless option. In those areas I suggest you explore each in further detail by reading their manuals to get a feel for whether you might prefer one or the other based on any operational details like available amps/FX and routing (e.g. parallel path processing). There is one design difference that I think you should explore. They differ in their approach to DSP management. The Stomp uses dynamic DSP while the POD Go uses a blend of fixed and dynamic DSP allocation. In practical terms the Stomp offers more flexibility in FX selection, routing, and placement in the signal chain, while the POD Go is arguably easier to use at the cost of having fewer FX options and no parallel path processing. DSP management may be the deciding factor for you; make sure you understand this difference in practical terms before purchasing. Again, the manuals will help especially the ‘Flex blocks’ aspect of the POD Go.
