I believe it’s in the Volume section of blocks.

Helix Help – The Unofficial Guide Also, here's a sample of an extensive series of videos from Jason Sadites.

I expect there are lots of people who do that, although I’m not one of them. Do you have a specific question for those people?

There is also a factory setlist named Templates that contains some examples of different preset structures. Copy anything you find interesting to another preset location and experiment.

Sounds like you’re already leaning towards the Stomp XL, and that would be a good choice. You might want to review their respective manuals to make sure you won’t be surprised by any features or operational considerations.

No. Footswitch mode is a global setting.

Try a program called DT Edit. With the latest DT amp firmware it allows you to configure and save any of the 8 DT amp configurations (I, II, III, IV in each of Channel A and B) with your choices of any HD500X amp models. http://rome2.github.io/dtedit/

PodXt Live Specs Ins & Outs?
silverhead replied to HunterGatherer's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Not sure exactly what specifications you’re looking for. You’ll find the publicly available specs in the manual: Beyond that I can’t help.- 2 replies

Ouch. That sucks. Sadly, I’ve never been involved in an orgy so I can only imagine what you describe actually feels like but I imagine….not good. My first guess at the culprit would be the cable between the Variax and the Helix. You describe it as an Ethernet type cable, which it is. The cable you should be using is called a VDI cable, which is an Ethernet cable with both ends securely fastened to the RJ-45 ports by a secure housing. If you are using a regular Ethernet cable, or even the one supplied with your Variax guitar (protected only on one end) you are vulnerable to displacement of the cable. That could explain the dropout. Please confirm that you are using the Line 6 VDI cable that is protected and secured on both ends.

The free trial is not a separate download. It’s baked into the product. Download and install the software. When you first launch the program it will guide you through the purchase or free trial option. Selecting the free trial will start the clock and allow you to use the product.

See the Helix manual page 74 for all midi capabilities and command codes of Helix. You can do what you want with two MIDI PC and CC commands from the Command Centre in Helix.

1. Yes. 2. EQs are back to normal. 3. Very good.

I think the short answer is yes, you need to change the Variax Tuning setting to Custom from Don’t Force in all presets. The Don’t Force setting when you recall a preset causes Helix to leave the Custom Variax tuning from the previous preset unchanged. When you reset it to Custom in the new preset, with all 0 offsets, Helix causes the Variax to return to standard tuning.

Have you checked the Gain setting for your Mic Input (see Global Settings)?

Not sure what you mean, exactly, by “assign more than one snap shot like using presets”. There are 4 snapshots in every preset. To enter Snapshot mode press the Up and Down switches together. Then use footswitches ABCD to select which snapshot is active. The active snapshot when the preset was last Saved remains the active snapshot when the preset is recalled. See manual pg 26 for further details. If you mean ‘assign this snapshot to a specific footswitch’ you should consider them pre-assigned to footswitches A, B, C, and D. These are available at all times in Snapshot mode.

I expect the decision to not include VDI on the products you mention is based on physical size and price targets for those products. It was decided that the VDI jack takes up too much real estate and adds too much cost. For these products smaller and cheaper were more important goals, especially since relatively few guitar players own a Variax so the increased size and price for all would benefit relatively few entry level product purchasers.

No compelling reason that I’m aware of. Snapshots fits your workflow better, and you don’t have to give up half your DSP. Stick with your snapshots.

I suggest you open a support ticket. This sounds like a hardware problem.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for providing the update.

The message telling you that updates are available might refer to a POD Go device firmware update, not the POD Go Edit program. Check the message carefully and update the firmware if available.

snaphots Snapshots make alien sounds when switched.
silverhead replied to MasterJoeDa's topic in POD Go
Try Global Settings -> Preferences -> Tempo Pitch. This should help but may not completely remove the artifacts. Imagine you were making these tempo changes in real time using an analog pedal. What you’re hearing is exactly what you would expect in the analog world, and that’s what the POD Go is modeling. The ‘Transparent’ setting for the Tempo Pitch parameter minimizes the real-world effect. There won’t be an update to ‘fix’ this because it’s not bug; it accurately models, and optionally minimizes, the real analog pedals. Here’s an exercise for you: try using real analog pedals to make the same instantaneous real-time parameter changes and see what it sounds like. -
See Global Settings -> Preferences, then knob #3

Sure. Separate the inputs by using both Path 1 and Path 2 in the preset. Each Path will process one input (you’ll probably want no processing on the USB Input path). Use the Output block in each path to specify your desired physical output.

Older Variax guitars (pre-JTV) did not come with the USB adapter. It’s called the Variax Workbench Hardware Interface and was sold separately for those who wanted to use the optional Workbench program. Since the JTV series it has been included with the purchase of a new Variax guitar.

Since this will be your first update you may find the following useful. Note that it was written before, but anticipating, the release of v3.10.
