OK - thanks. I misunderstood.

Clean tone sounds distorted with high output guitar (Les Paul PRS etc)
silverhead replied to rythmoemos's topic in AMPLIFi
Don't know that there's much more you can do about that, and not sure it's a 'problem' unique to the AMPLIFi. That's kind of the nature of high gain guitars. That's why players normally use a Tele or Strat when they want really clean tones (e.g. with a Fender amp), and why you see LPs used mostly with Marshall or hi-gain amps. Clean vs. dirty - there's equipment for each. Mixing them gives you a good middle ground, but if you want really clean you typically don't use a Les Paul. And if you want really dirty you typically don't use a Telecaster. -
VDI cable sounds weird (Helix)
silverhead replied to victorcastro1's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Not sure what you mean. You can tweak Variax JTV/Standard settings (not the older models) in Helix. The Variax model selection, vol/tone knob controllers, and custom tunings are all accessible and stored in Helix on a preset or global basis. You will see them on pages 2 and 3 of any input block where Variax is among the selected inputs. -
No - can't do that globally. It's the same question that's asked here often about all kinds of favorite go-to amps and FX selections and settings in one's usual presets, whether it's a loop, a favourite distortion or reverb or chorus.... And the best way to manage it is the same. Create you own custom 'starting point' preset(s) for your most common setups and include all your go-to fx and preset elements with your specific 'default' settings. Then use these to copy anytime you start creating a new preset. The Templates setlist seems like the natural place for these. Note that Helix supports copying at the block/FX level so you can apply this strategy to create all your favourite 'default' settings. You can create template presets that you would never use as constructed, but are simply a repository for your favourite settings. For instance, you could have one template preset called DIST/OD (or CHORUS, DELAY, REVERB, etc.) that contains nothing but a selection of your favourite models of that type, each with your preferred default settings. Then, while constructing your real presets, you just select and copy from among your favourites.

That's right - no issues.

Not now and likely not ever. The whole idea of the AMPLIFi and Firehawk product line is untethered mobility. Hence mobile devices and Bluetooth.

The website has been very slow the last couple of days. I'm sure Line 6 is working on it. Should improve soon.

See the little green up arrow in the bottom right area of the comment frame? That's the like button

Downloading patches using Line 6 Monkey
silverhead replied to gbolitho's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
You don't. Use a program called Line 6 Edit. Monkey will help you download and install it, or download the installer from the Downloads area of this website. -
You can't 'delete' tones. You overwrite them (copy) with another tone in its place. You can create what you consider to be an 'empty' tone for this purpose.

I don't know exactly how the pole sensor works (optical vs. weight-sensing vs ....) but you may not need to go as far as drilling, mounting, and using an actual Line 6 short pole. I might start by cutting something like an old broom/shovel handle to length and just inserting it into the pole shaft.

Tweak patches via headphones or powered speaker
silverhead replied to Indianrock2020's topic in POD HD
Understood. And yet, unavoidably, that's what needs to be done if you want to hear exactly what your audience will hear and do the final tweaking accordingly. As has already been described you can use either headphones or speakers at bedroom level to get something close but neither will be exactly what your audience hears in the church. -
I haven't tried it myself, but theoretically you create an empty path in the preset and set its output to s/pdif. For instance, create a Helix preset that uses Path 1 for guitar processing and Path 2 for the dry signal. In Path 1 Select Guitar as input, add whatever amp and FX processing you want as usual, and select the analog outputs (e.g. 1/4" outputs) at Line level, connected to the 6i6 analog inputs. In Path 2 select Guitar as input, do not add any amp or FX blocks, and select s/pdif as output connected to the 6i6 s/pdif input. In the DAW arm a stereo and mono track for recording. Select the appropriate 6i6 USB Send channels for the Record Input signals - the stereo processed signal and the s/pdif dry signal.

It likely depends on your guitar(s). Experiment until you reach a level you're satisfied with.

POD HD500x Restarting When selecting Amp models *VIDEO CLIP INSIDE
silverhead replied to Incubus32's topic in POD HD
I suggest you reinstall the latest firmware. If the problem persists, open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support. -
You could also use the Helx/6i6 s/pdif connections. You could do this instead of or in addition to the analog connections. For instance, you could record the processed wet signal over the analog connections while simultaneously recording the dry signal over s/pdif for later re-amping.
-
Check the Setup menus, page 5. Increase the s/pdif level parameter value.
-
Connect the Helix L/R audio outputs to one pair of the Scarlett L/R audio inputs. I would use the 1/4" outputs/inputs. Set the Helix 1/4" output level to Line.

Multiple Helices (Floorboard/Rack) per PC Updater Issues
silverhead replied to jimistheman's topic in Helix
Try using different USB ports on your computer, and if possible try another computer. If those efforts fail then yes open a support ticket. -
When recording using the analog outputs to another audio interface, make sure your Firehawk Ouptut mode is set to Line mode. This ensures the output level is Studio/Direct, appropriate for a mixer, not instruments level appropriate for an external amp. (see manual page13)
-
Select the FX you want the pedal to control. The FX parameters are displayed. Press and hold the knob associate with the parameter you want the pedal to control. In the next display assign the parameter to the desired pedal and set the desired min/max values for the pedal sweep.

Downloading all Pocket Pod Custom Tones
silverhead replied to Inspired_Art's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Not to my knowledge. -
I suggest you do what RJMEngineering suggested - have a seltist for live play without the cabs and one for recording with the cab/mic simulations. You might find that you need to do more than just add the cabs to get the tones you want for recording. Once you get them tweaked properly you won't need to do any further changing - just use the appropriate setlist.
