  1. i wonder if any helix-tech is in it ..
  2. my short post- helix out L/R to aux in of yamaha 😄
  3. i gotta say i only had artist series 1 which did not have ir's and i found i had to tweak some a little to suit my system. i recently bought the boutique cleans patches from Glenn and love them as they are. maybe it's those ir''s that add that final bit of clarity and focus, as the fremen pack uses them too
  4. you need a good level or you could be getting noise from somewhere, say if helix was low and the amp had to be turned up too high.. any electrical noise/interference will be boosted. I think helix sounds better with a healthy level on the knob too
  5. yes i found the trim control there , thanks again
  6. oh, i already have one of those laying around someone gave me..😊👠Brilliant! tried it and it works. thankyou 😉
  7. that speaker should be fine for at home playing tho.. i just bought the freeman pack and find it sounds a quite a bit more focused and defined than glenns patches, for at home volume levels anyway. I haven't compared them at loud levels tho. Adjusting eq's will probably get you closer to what you're after.. i and many others really cut at the bottom end and the hi's too
  8. may just end up running it thru my stereo system to play along might be easiest..
  9. yeah it is from my phone, was streaming some backing tracks from online.. and yes was trying not to load a return for every preset (just bought the fremen pack.. there's a lot of presets haha) thanks anyway
  10. i tried pushing them both together at the same time (record/play) but that just deleted my backing loop..
  11. On holidays here and playing around with the helix trying some different ideas to how i normaly use it, so having a few questions pop up.. I recorded a 32 bar backing track on the looper, now i'd like to record an overdub over the top, but once you've stopped the looper you cant go back and hit play and start overdubbing simultaneously? is that right.. ? I'd like to be able to, but if i hit record it will start recording a new fresh loop and if i hit play instead i then have to hit record after that thus missing recording the first part of the loop. So the only thing to do is wait for the 32 bars to play, to start recording? Or perhaps miss the first bar and catch it on the 2nd cycle.. Am i missing something, to be able to simultaneously start playback and overdub.?
  12. oh! not what i was hoping to do, as i so rarely use my computer nowadays. ok, thanks for the advice
  13. i'd like to monitor some backing tracks thru the helix and flick thru a few presets as i do to check out how they sound. I cant seem to do it tho. I only get aux running thru the amp and fx which i certainly dont want or i have to load a 'return' for each preset i load which defeats the purpose of scrolling thru them.. is there any way around this. Other Units i've used in the past had an aux that was independent of the signal chain
  14. yes, you cant go from helix straight to a cab
  15. i've had mine about 8 months and love it more and more. There's always something new to try and it does sound great
  16. make sure your volume knob on helix is quite high, you run it at a good level? (at least 12.00 i think)
  17. nice! which od pedals did you use?
  18. cool, i finally jumped onboard.. first impression is the marshall plexi's sound more 'plexi' than other presets i've tried or been able to achieve myself 😉ðŸ‘
  19. yes, i dont find the jazz chorus a particularly good jazz amp despite the name.. ok for 80's new wave maybe tho :)
  20. hey you've got them around the wrong way for starters 😜
  21. i don't know that digital gear has any user-replaceable parts nowadays
  22. haha in most cases it's "good luck with that idea" 😉
  23. i agree about the variax and helix, i bought it thinking it would work with mine, after seeing nothing mentioned to the contrary on websites or videos..
