    just had a look at the new EHX synth 9 synth machine video.. sounds great! that thing seems to have absolutely no problem tracking chords or whatever you throw at it.. and the helix barely tracks single note playing.. so sad :(

    i'm not sure you'll have a heap of success.. of course you can warm it up a little but i find my neck pickup while being warm and rounded in the bass , still has quite a bit of high end in there but it is quite different to the bridge. Maybe there is some kind of ir that can help with it tho.. be interested to see how it goes.

    yes! i've used plug in filters that do that in my DAW and they can sound pretty good on some things.. that little boost near the cut-off

    yes i tried the bassman another time and found it a bit not to my liking but after watching a youtube video about them i thought i'd come back to it and give it a bit of tweaking.. now it sounds great!

    umm.. do you happen to leave your mobile phone in close proximity to your guitar when playing.? i've noticed some weird noises come thru my setup if it is within a foot or two of my guitar. kind of digital artifacty type sounds

    yeah.. maybe time you gave it up.. perhaps take up macrame or scrapbooking.. i hear they both have some pretty active forums, and the participants there have pretty low short term memories..

    multi band will be awesome .. maybe.. hopefuly with gain reduction metering maybe.. somehow

    yes parallel with a cab works well .. also bring the horn level up just a little, maybe drop the drive off too .. they do take a little tweak i think to get it sounding presentable and also i find one nicer than the other but cant recall which at the moment :)

    bass guitar sounds are ok with my old variax 500 - i think there was a separate model for acoustics in the old days a variax acoustic that had nylon.

    sometimes i hear something that sounds like a ratty distortion around the notes, usually when i have the vol low but it kinda disappears if i give the vol knob a bit of juice

    yes actually that happened with my tc electronics voice live touch with xlr out.. it was a bit of a problem sometimes

    i notice a lot of people send xlr to desk at mic level.. what is the advantage here? I would have thought a nice beefy line level would be better.?

    does anyone know what year the fender bassman that was modeled is from? an old one ? or a more recent re-issue maybe?

    maybe boost your mids a bit and drop the bass and adjust treble to taste , in a snapshot.. that and a volume boost somewhere after your amp

    just that if it is the smaller selection you can load them quite easily.. extract them, drop the folder in the ir's directory in- my docs/line 6 (windows).. open helix editor (with helix connected) select the ir tab in the editor, select a slot and then press import, it will open an explorer window.. select as many ir's as you want .. it will load multiple starting from the slot you selected.

    are they packages with lots of files - like ownhammer , or a smaller number, like 3sigma?

    i think some of them must have different curves, so stick with your ears when adjusting i guess.. I often adjust multiple hi and lo cuts if i have multiple ir's/eq's/cabs etc loaded.. I imagine the global eq is after the signal chain that is onscreen but that is just guessing.. with the global eq i just do a bit of hi lo cut and leave the other adjustments.
