compensate the other way around.😞
-
don't know if this is a bug or normal amp behaviour, on the train wreck model the overal volume goes up when "lowering" the gain below 2/2.5, so much that I have to compensate with the channel volume between clean and overdrive snapshots.

managed to update via a mini laptop running on windows 8. updater worked flawed on it.
-
and reinstalled l6 updater
-
I did reinstalled editor and drivers. it,s weird the last update went flawless.
-
trying to update to 2.30, updater won't start up, keeps on giving error message. i'm running Windows 7 any suggestions?

plexi jumped litigator ubersonic

the master set on 10 is a default setting for old plexi' s as they didn't had a master volume control.

hi it,s not me in this video, but I remembered this video when I saw you're post, pretty awesome tone. My personal plexi settings are gain:9 bass:2 treble and middle:10 presence:2 master:10 sag:0 (keeps it tight) other settings on default. I use a 3sigma 1960v 412 ir or a basketweave greenback 412 ir. sounds pretty good.

nothing Like a Marshall??
-
really like the 3sigma ir's, ownhammer is also great.
-
do you use high and low cuts? especially for higher gain tones i use a standard high cut around 6/7k after the can block. My helix sounds awesome even with some of the stock cabs.
-
i run the plexi bright model with a combination of 2 3sigma ir's mostly the Marshall basket weave 412 (greenbacks) and 3sigma 1960v 412 (celestion g12 75) really love this combo. when I use stock cabs I usaly run 2 412 greenbacks with a 57 and a 121 mic
-
imo the Marshall models sound quite convincing to me, the plexi bright model is the one I use the most, te clip to me sounds like it is not close miced but rather with a room mic of some sort but I could be wrong.

how can I get my helix to sound like the way superior fractal axe fx2?
-
simple Low and high cuts would be sufficient, I think this fizzynes is a natural thing in recorded amp tone. maybe this is something fractal removes beforehand.
-
it's after the whole chain, I use it to fine tune if needed during a gig. as far I know it only effects the xlr and 1/4" outs.
-
just got a variax standard (2weeks) imo the models are not bad at all especially the acoustics are excellent , the only thing is the way palm muting sounds and feels, but that's a matter of getting used to I think.

I watch a lot of helix YouTube video's and there are always a couple of guy's claiming the vast inferiority of helix compared to axe/kemper in the comment section. Some of them almost seem to be on some kind of holy modeler war. seem to be a lot of line6 haters, never see helix users claiming the opposite on axe/kemper video which I also watch. just a observation

I think this clip of Pete dialing in some nice tones with the US double would be of some help to you.
-
just import te ir's, set them up mono and name and export the track to desired location.

I've managed to create mixed ir files with the free daw audicity, just mixed the two ir's I use often in helix in audicity. sounds pretty much the same using the mixed it vs the two separate ir,s. fairly simple procedure
