  1. When it comes to MIDI, almost everything happened to me in the past :P What about the pitch shift midi effect in Ableton?
  2. You're not sending notes, actually... To keep a long story short: This could happen, if the MIDI implementation (slightly) differs - in this case using Ableton (live?) and L6 Helix. There are thousands of products on the market that use MIDI - and often enough there are (even bigger) differences in using MIDI ...
  3. Sorry, but that's exactly not what I intended (although a second trial sometimes isn't bad 'per se', of course ;) ), because even downloaded and bought presets are affected by this problem... Trying to summarize: Booting up the helix, messages like 'rebuilding preset' occur. They don't take long, so additional milliseconds shouldn't be the point. But: What and why must be something rebuild - and what does it mean if the next time Helix reboots and the messages are still there? Additionally, Honest Opinion reports crashes of the editor depending on 'rebuilded and saved' presets. So far L6 stated elsewhere, that I doubt that it is "simply caching"; I think that presets obviously have to be transformed ('rebuild'), so that they work with a new firmware fluently. So the 'problem' is highly likely (ta-dah!) the upgrade to the new firmware(s). I had a certain success with pressing FS 10&11 during bootup - Then everybody should get that message - and that's it ;)
  4. (...well... seems we meet in confidence again ;)) All right, this is what I assume right now: The rebuilding messages hint 'indeed' on something that should be adjusted / adapted /rebuild. I found out, that the reset options offer a rebuilding process for all tones / presets. If you press buttons 10 & 11 while booting, every preset will be upgraded / (rebuild) for the latest firmware (found this here http://helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions ) I did that and there was only one (!) preset left that had that good ol' rebuilding message during the next bootup - which then was simple to solve manually... Until now, I had no crashes of the editor, but: I followed your advice to change 'just a bit' of the remaining preset before saving it (and I'm on Win7). So... it would still be kind of the L6 technical crew to comment on this. The 'caching' information was apparently given in passing...
  5. ...maybe you have one ore more compressor blocks active?!
  6. I only remember http://helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions for the moment...
  7. I find it usually better to compare sounds not playing (simultaneously). This is something you learn when working in a studio: Sometimes you need a certain 'distance' to your own sound ( & playing) - and reference sounds and recording help to develop a 'fair ear'. Changing the loop (with a DAW no prob) helps getting no brainworm
  8. There are several threads dealing with this, for example: http://line6.com/support/topic/17047-noticeable-delay-when-switching-patches/?hl=latency
  9. Really good jobs! (Swing Town 1 & 2). ...and did you already mention your BRONTOSAURUS? Wow
  10. ...guess that's what MIDI was made for ;) http://line6.com/support/manuals/helix (especially about the Command Center) http://www.wikpa.org/MIDI
  11. You should add this here: http://line6.com/support/topic/16083-helix-bug-reports/
  12. If you have some time, then read: http://line6.com/support/topic/6764-do-you-have-the-same-problem-with-6th-string/
  13. Ok, guess we got your message. Besides - no need to BUMP
  14. Simple solution for apprx. 1200 bucks (at least)
  15. ...simply save your new (sketched) patch and compare it with - whatever you want ;)
  16. @ Rclere: Download & install Helix Mac Driver 1.00 Public Beta:http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=6962 @ all: Helix FW 1.12 .0 available: http://line6.com/software/index.html
  17. Oh ooh, I know what happens next... I guess it depends a lot * if you are willing to change your habits (for example using one patch per song) * if you play a style of music that doesn't need a outstanding number of sound changes (per song) * if you understand that helix isn't just an effect gear (it is an excellent amp modeler and [...] and [...] Maybe we can clear things up before the next endless discussion (with familiar arguments) starts ;)
