T'sup here? Happy mushroom hours?!

I would certainly use a Efxloop (send/return). You can place it at the beginning of the path. Guess your pedals have a very raised output supply; that way you can control it much better (see page 30, 2.0 manual)...

Strange Volume Drop when using Les Paul vol controls
klangmaler replied to WickedFinger's topic in Helix
Install procedure: http://line6.com/support/topic/18284-latest-helix-firmware-201/ (Hi, silverhead, again working at the same frontline :P ) -
You have to download these files first, after that you have to install them: http://line6.com/support/topic/18284-latest-helix-firmware-201/

So you're referring to the 'amp in the headphone' thread ;) I really can't find a specific 'Kemper sound' or 'Helix sound' (recorded or live, using headphones or speakers or whatever). If there's something that seems 'too accurate' (artificial?) to me, I have ways to eliminate this on both devices. The idea and concept is different. And you can benefit from both!

Helix 2 reaches almost level of perfection to me... DT amps solution is quite satisfactory to me right now, but - I really miss the workbench HD integration :(
-
The tuner is working properly with all of my guitar and basses and I use(d) many good and serious tuners before.

If you don't like how fuzzes sound in Helix please vote for my idea.
klangmaler replied to Paolo_Maina's topic in Helix
Dear Paolo, this is getting a bit tedious - think we got ya ;) -
Well, If I need more notes, I will take another guitar with more strings :P

Happy to say the Helix tuner is the best one I have right now :) (for all of my guits and basses). Probs may occur if the firmware wasn't installed correctly, I guess. [...] "Don't forget to to reset globals and restore presets: HELIX FLOOR ONLY: While holding footswitches 9 and 10 (middle two switches on the bottom row), turn on Helix. Wait for the message “Will reset Globals and restore stock Presets, Setlists and IRs…†to appear and let go. HELIX RACK ONLY: While holding knobs 5 and 6 below the screen, turn on Helix Rack. Wait for the message “Will reset Globals and restore stock Presets, Setlists and IRs…†to appear and let go. " [...]

This 'phenomenon' exists since Vers 1.00.... Some freezes / crashes might have to do with the continuous parallel signal & data flow (Audio / MIDI / Helix editor etc.). With Helix, I work mostly offline (no internet, no security software, no firewall) and this makes editing more fluently, trust me

Microphone noise - USB cable adding dreadful noise to system
klangmaler replied to steevo1977's topic in Helix
....sounds to me that you have grounding / shielding trouble... You activated phantom power - what if you turn this off (USB cable still plugged in) - still that noise? Helix has trouble with 48V activated and connections to XLR; maybe same thing with USB??- 5 replies

Hold FS 10 & 11 at startup. All your patches will be transformed to latest FW.

Obviously now talking about install / update instructions: That is clearly to keep apart from the software discussion, I suggest. When talking about instructions we're having the full range of user opinions and statements (from 'self-explanatory stuff!' up to 'what is an USB cable?'). I remember an early discussion about the necessity of even one manual (for the helix). Guess now everybody is happy about having several resources (manuals for hard / software, Helixhelp, videos and, last but not least: this forum ;) ) while the complexity of the Helix is still growing... Keeping that in mind, it makes sense to provide several approaches and ways of help. I don't believe that there is only one promising solution for that - again: We're all different - thank goodness...
-
... pretty close to my opinion on that '101 updating discussion'... Another thought: The more you 'automize', the more you lose control on certain processes. I'm quite happy with the fact that I can decide where e.g. backups are saved. To me a) every application is suspicious that creates (backup /content) folders somewhere 'hidden' or fixed (and I have to search for them endlessly) b) every (flashing) software must have an option to run firmware updates completely offline. This preserves stability while flashing (security software cab be deactivated then without hesitation). So, for the moment I'm satisfied with the current solution :)

Well... May I ask you politely, if you already checked out all the possibilies creating your own models via Workbench HD? http://line6.com/data/6/0a064389225954c6bd9c6c390/application/pdf/Workbench%20HD%20Pilot's%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XkVEDmU_S0

Is that your first post?? Welcome! Well, a more 'static' tuner would be suspicious, I guess ;)

Do you guys follow the DT forum threads? http://line6.com/support/forum/23-dt50-dt25/ Might be helpful :)

Try holding FS 10 & 11 during bootup... http://helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions

Dealing with both sides of the coin: I'm working as a musician and as a 'soundguy' in many different situations (studio, live audience etc.). Tried to simplify; maybe this was too sassy ;) Some fellows (still) prefer to take a mic before an amp sending this signal to a mixing console (& PA) even you have told them that you have a whatsoever-hightech-modeler-with-multiple-direct-out-possibilities-and-if-they-want-it-brews-coffee-for-the-whole-crew-and-makes-phone-calls-autonomously. And some will tell you quite unperturbed: "Awright, where's your amp - I'll place a mic before it"... Those guys aren't all ignorant or silly: Maybe they are experienced and have found a way to handle things that works for them AND the audience (and you with your guitar gear). Sometimes you will meet them and might think: 'Hey, again a sound dinosaur'. But what if it works and sounds fxxxxxx good?! Guess it should be teamwork out there, and if you have an 'experienced dinosaur' onboard, let him do his job - even if it hurts ;)

That's why I'm a master of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freediving right now :D I remember my first bios update decades ago... My lungs almost exploded...
-
In other words: As long as you can (or have to) manage your sound 'alone', Global EQing is an easy way to take account of the room characteristics. If you're working with a 'soundguy', he should have in mind that Helix delivers a sound that is 'cab'd and mic'd'...

You have probs with windows, I guess. Delete that 'white' icon, it is a dead link obviously. Then enter 'Helix' in the Start menu and search for the proggy that way. If it won't appear, you have to reinstall the applications.

Ideascale ;) : http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/JTV-Variax-Workbench-HD-using-Helix-VDI-as-interface/789597-23508 I know, I know... it's not really proper to post links for ideascale that way and (screaming out 'VOTE'). The reason I did it anyway: There are lots of entries concerning (almost) the same wish. Guess that the L6 crew noticed this already...

Sometimes we get those 'rebuilding presets' messages. If you press FS 10 & 11 (!) while booting, you can 'upgrade' (rebuild) existing / older presets to the new firmware manually - and the messages will (most likely) disappear ;) This is no global reset!! Here again the complete list of reset options: http://helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions
