  1. Is the PX-2g for the wall voltage in the area you are in? Do you have a photo of the labeling on the PX-2g?
  2. "... so was wondering if i could just change the switch myself with some other Les Paul switch."--- No,... it's a special switch assembly. This is not the usual passive electronics in a guitar. Self repair is not a good idea,... especially if you're are new at this. If it were passive electronics, I'd say fine, but not this guitar. Electronics in these are a whole other kettle of fish. I get too many self repair attempts across my repair bench all too often. Don't become a statistic, as the saying goes.
  3. The new Shuriken is ebony,... don't know about any of the other Variaxes.
  4. Hopefully the amp chip is still intact, but the power cycling would be a program board thing that would have to be done by service tech who knows the product. Uuuh,... long haul.
  5. Should never turn on without speakers plugged in, might have blown an amp chip. If it's power cycling, then it needs to be checked out by a Line 6 authorized service center.
  6. It needs to be service by an authorized Line 6 service center. It's a not a user fixable problem, software re-installs won't fix that. An authorized tech needs to go inside of it.
  7. That third pic 11-32-0020 is for the EU countries.
  8. If you're having a problem with one of those,... -Schematics are not available to the public. Someone getting you one could get them in trouble, since it's proprietary. -Some of the parts are no longer available, anywhere. -If the program failed, there's no way to re-program it, even I can't re-program it.
  9. Have you tried to reload the Firmware? Go to the Knowledge Base link on this subject of Firmware reloading.
  10. Bigsby B7,... it's the one that fits on a JTV-59. Just make certain the screw isn't too long.
  11. " Did you have any thoughts about the screws going through body and into any of the electronics? "--- Yes,... watch out for the battery box. So don't use too long of a screw or it might go through into the battery compartment. Have seen that happen twice, and in one of those cases penetrated the battery. So be careful.
  12. For price of work and availability of parts, you or your customer would have to log a ticket with Custom Support. I'm a service tech, the paperwork is done by others.
  13. To edit, you need a FBV Shortboard MkII. Not certain how deep you can access a Spider Valve MkI. I forget what the circuit is, besides, I can't discuss circuit level stuff.
  14. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ I don't know anyone in Ireland, but I have a mate, Mark Wright Music in Northampton. He used to be my opposite number at Line 6 Rugby, when we had a location there. He knows these guitars as well a I do. Also E&M Electronics in Milton Keyes.
  15. My lab mate here at Line 6 has a set for dealing with black box display. The board would be sent to him here for evaluation to see if it's fixable. There are no more replacement boards, haven't been for a while now. Log a support ticket regarding options. By the way, replacing the DSP won't fix it, it goes deeper than just the DSP. Self repair may complicate us repairing it.
  16. Looking at your temperatures, I've never seen them get that hot before and hold together, except with old tubes about to fail or wrong tubes. Measured 370-ish as I was about to do a repair on one once. Power tubes measuring 350F - 385F is way too high, 220-230F is more normal, 308-311F is as high as I've measured when running it hard. Should have a complete check out on that unit by someone who knows the insides of our product, a Line 6 authorized tech.
  17. It's a complex switch assembly, so don't mess with it, it very touchy in there, probably a solder point. It could be the pick-up cable, or the pick-up itself. Could even be a debris short. May seem easy to deal with, but it's also easy to mess up, and those end up on my bench all too often and take longer to deal with. So leave it to those who know the insides of these. They aren't our fathers guitars. Make certain your guitar is registered in your account, then log a ticket in your account with Line 6 Custom Support.
  18. Probably the NAMM 2018 in Anaheim, maybe YouTube video of the Line 6 booth. Not certain what's out there in the public domain, haven't checked lately myself.
  19. Yeah, the way the lightpipe underneath lines up, there's a minor variation in the refraction of the light, sometimes a smidge more one way than the other.
  20. Capacitors are hefty and hold quite a charge,... those four big ones. 200v if I recall, from the last time got zapped. Yeah, forget those power tubes, factory is Sovtek 5881WXT. +35mV.
