Firmware 2.23 jtv
psarkissian replied to dizzyspiral's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Understand. Nice thing about Monkey is the update notes at the bottom, it give a quick run down on that. Since it's an update, deeper notes are also found in the Downloads page here in the Support link as well. -

psarkissian replied to dizzyspiral's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
"I think the only thing the 2.23 firmware did was make it so the Shuriken model names show up correctly on the Helix. "--- And displaying in Workbench HD. cbrillow,... It's in the notes at the bottom of the Monkey window when you click on it before downloading. -

Check with Yamaha Service in your area. There is a supply for that voltage region. -
Is JTV USA still being made?
psarkissian replied to sabastiane's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I take it the 59 in question is not a US build. It has a "W" at the front of the serial number? -

Firmware v2.23 helps with interface displays in Workbench HD when connecting to a Shuriken SR250 Variax guitar. -

Powering G55 with Power Conditioner
psarkissian replied to BenPinkus's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
You need to get the correct Line 6 supply for the region you are operating in. No substitutes. -
Pickup selector switch

For pots and switches,... Do not spray directly in, spray on a cotton swab and drip it in. -
Free Helix Back Panel Inputs/Outputs Label sticker.
psarkissian replied to ventolino's topic in Helix
For the sticker label, typically the mod connector is referred to as "VDI", which stands for Variax Digital Interface. So "VDI" would do, or Guitar Digital Interface. -
Free Helix Back Panel Inputs/Outputs Label sticker.
psarkissian replied to ventolino's topic in Helix
Yes,... Variax is trademarked long time ago. And I imagine so is the James Tyler Variax and Shuriken art. I know Tyler and McKay were instrumental in those. -
Stick with the specified supply.

Free Helix Back Panel Inputs/Outputs Label sticker.
psarkissian replied to ventolino's topic in Helix
Been getting with legal and marketing about this. It's not a problem, so long as you remember to not have any trademarks, logos or branding on the template, stuff like Helix, Line 6, and maybe the L6 Link. As those are all trademarks. Remember, when things like trademarks and such are part of it, it's always a good idea to check with us first. And maybe digitally edit the photos from the earlier posts here. Yeah snhirsch, you have the right idea, thanks. Though AES/EBU is a standard, I think the L6 Link is trademarked if I recall. Might want to play it safe on that one as well, maybe label it 110-Ohm instead of L6 Link. Always looking out for you all. Nice to see the enthusiasm. Aside from,... enjoy. -
Free Helix Back Panel Inputs/Outputs Label sticker.
psarkissian replied to ventolino's topic in Helix
Be careful,... making one yourself and using is one thing. Distributing it with Line 6 logos, L6 Link and Helix labeling on it, might a problem. It's better to check with Line 6 about this before putting it out there. There may be trademark issues. I don't want to see anyone get in trouble over this. I'll pick our legal person's brain about this, see what they think. -

Should be some Gretsch patches in Rbilly. Pretty good. -
Nylon String IR?
psarkissian replied to kenmac1's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
"... they’ve reached some modeling and technology limitations that are barriers to significantly improved Variax models. "--- Memory capacity on the board is more likely. A good reason to make use of Workbench HD. As far as Impulse Response goes, I'm not certain how much memory is required for that. And Helix would be the product to do Impulse Response. Maybe between Workbench HD and Helix there might be something there. Haven't tried that yet. And there's always submitting an idea in Idea Scale. -
Spider Valve MKII 112 High Pitched Hiss Noise Issue
psarkissian replied to BlueLanternFlash's topic in Spider Valve
1) Is it a Line 6 authorized service center? 2) Power tubes should be 5881WXT matched set (no JJ's, Mesas, Groove Tubes, Tung-Sol, or others), and properly bias to specs, for good characteristic curve response and linear transfer function. Otherwise, too much distortion too soon. And that means shorter tube life. 3) Pre-amp tubes should be 12AX7 B, China or 12AX7EH. These amps are unforgiving of modifications. Authorized service centers know to reach out to us to confirm what they already will know. Makes the job go quicker. -
Use a battery and a TRS 1/4" cable and not a TS 1/4" cable. Should be something in the manual about that,... page 10-11 in the owner's manual. https://line6.com/legacy/variax600

Looks like the Flash may be corrupted, or a problem with one of its support circuits. Log a support ticket in your account. It needs to be serviced by a Line 6 authorized service center.

You have a +3V and +9V supply on different devices. Chances are, they are on different ground planes. What you are hearing is the noise floor between those two ground planes going thru something on another ground plane. Also, check the Line 6 Knowledge Base here for information on G10 and guitar jack adapters.

That's normal. Different topologies engaged, different gain loops result.
