  1. "How low can you tune the strings on the guitar before the piezos start to have issues? "--- About a whole step and a half. Below that, you start to skirt the limits of pitch tracking.
  2. The other thing is that physically tuning down loosens the string, it also lessens the contact string tension on the piezo. That can (but not always) have adverse affects on a solid signal (amplitude and pitch stability wise). All pitch shifting starts with where you are physically tuned at. Almost nobody in the signal processing world does it differently. If there's someone out there who does, I don't know them.
  3. Pitch shift interval is based on where it's physically tuned from. "Standard" is a no pitch shift setting, whatever you physically tune to, is what comes out.
  4. "Does anyone have an idea of how much this will cost me? "--- it's up to the individual shop. Check with the authorized Line 6 service center in your area. For an Error 2, re-Flash won't work. It's a hardware/firmware thing, not user repairable.
  5. 12AX7EH,... the different gain topology settings are such that low microphonic pre-amp tubes are required, and the EH's are low microphonic. seldon1 has some interesting ideas,... very good.
  6. Needs servicing at a Line 6 authorized service center.
  7. Hardware or combination of hardware/firmware. Error 2,... it needs to be serviced by a Line 6 authorized service tech in your area.
  8. Not miffed,... concerned. Don't want to see anyone get in over their heads, then come to me looking for an assist. My ability to help would be limited at that point, there is only so much I'm allowed to do. I've done my share of these mods for specific endorser clients (like left hander Carlos Rios) as favours for the top people here, and consulted on a couple of others (Flying V with JTV guts for a former service tech in Canada), so I know the pitfalls involved. I've also seen and had a couple of customer failed attempts come across my bench. So please be careful. If you can pull it off, great. If not, there won't be a whole lot I can do, especially if there's non-Line 6 device attachments involved.
  9. Don't spray directly into it, spray onto a cotton swab, let it drip in.

  11. When you engage the switch on the Alt Tune, the Model LED goes blue and a 2nd layer of models comes up, acoustic and electric 12-strings are among the models. Looks like you got the correct board. And that should be "Tested PBS",... PBS being my initials. Good.
  12. Board for a 59? Have the blue layer of models?
  13. That will require a trip to an authorized service center in your area. Then they can contact a tech here for further tech tips on that. This is not something you can fix yourself, and a non Line 6 tech won't know how to deal with this. And they won't have schematics or access to the tech here.
  14. https://line6.com/software/index.html There's Line 6 Edit on this link.
  15. For recording with USB, if that happens, it needs to be taken to an authorized service center. When something like that occurs in digital domain, in any audio product, it's usually a case of loss of synchronization in the digital domain. With this product, only an authorized service center can fix that.
  16. " Can you leave a variax and non-variax guitar plugged into the pod at the same time? "--- Yes. And there is an input selector that allows you to decide which one you want to enable at any given moment. https://line6.com/support/manuals/podhd500x In case you want to do a deep dive into a owners manual for more details.
  17. Maybe,... could be one or more parts in the switch plunger assembly. Best have someone who knows the insides well, like and authorized service tech.
  18. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ Is the link to find the one nearest you.
  19. Needs to be serviced by an authorized service center.
  20. Probably needs some servicing in general, a good going over. Log a support ticket.
