  1. What's written in the HX schematic diagram at the jacks, and confirming it with calculations of the circuits involved. Pretty much industry standard, everyday instrument level impedance. Multimeter would be more of the standard bulk DC resistance. Subtle difference between that and impedance, which considers reactance of any capacitors or inductors involved. Both are correct, one is a passive reading, the other circuit active. Resistance is the resist of a circuit not including reactance in a circuit that is passive. Reactance occurs when a voltage/signal is applied and reactance becomes parts of it. Impedance by definition, is a function of frequency, which infers the presence of a voltage/signal. Resistance doesn't require that. Phil and Ben have the passive aspects, while I managed to dig out the active aspects that are more to do with impedance as specified in the documents, rather than just resistance. We're all pretty much correct on that one.
  2. Unbalanced-Outs about 680 Ohms FX-Sends looks like 1k Ohm Guitar-In's about 980 Ohms All standard issue, run-of-the-mill, usual everyday instrument level stuff.
  3. What cruisinn2 said, good idea, from what I've seen and heard, it works. Also, there is a Line 6 Knowledge Base posting from earlier this year on the subject of plink, you may want to check out. BTW,.... NYXL 10-52 is what Stevic McKay uses on his Shuriken. He also uses a Velcro band near the string nut to cut down on any extra harmonic ring. He has a You Tube video out there, he mentions something about that in passing. Been a while since I chatted with him about that.
  4. Second hand and an earlier unit, probably over due for a check-up. Log a support ticket.
  5. I've had success with the UNO and MIDISport 2x2.
  6. Knobs, transformer, a few other odds and ends. If the supply board went, that would be slim to none chance of getting one of those. Full Compass doesn't ship outside the USA, so you would have to have a friend here get it then ship the whatever part to you. Most of the Spider III series parts have been used up and gone.
  7. Register the guitar in your account, then log a support ticket. Either an authorized service or me. It would go quicker that way, and less chance of you becoming the guy who had it before you. He probably tried to mess with it himself and failed. JTV69/69S, 89/89F or Standard.
  8. Each amp has a supply line to power an FBV floor board. Tie the FBV to three amps, good chance the FBV and the connector circuits on the amps will blow. FBV's are not designed for that. It is an unsupported use and might void any warranties. Daisy chaining runs the risk of delays sand latency.
  9. My test unit at my bench measures 2.09 inches, or 53.3 mm, using my digital calipers.
  10. Yes. Need some pre-amp as a buffer amp in between.
  11. Impedance mis-match. Instrument Level signal going out into a Line Level signal input device.
  12. " Has L6 USA actually stepped in and helped at all ? "--- since we all know each other now (L6 here and Yamaha there), they contact me for the tech stuff,... if and when they feel the need. Admin stuff is done by others here. "Have you heard anything? Parts on the way ? Has L6 USA actually stepped in and helped at all ? "--- that's between him and us (L6 and Yamaha Australia). If or when he decides to share,... that's up to him.
  13. I can't get into or advise on circuit level stuff any further than I have. And as I mentioned before, if that chip goes it's because something else failed and took out that chip. So if that chip goes, then there are multiple fail points.
  14. Unfortunately,... yes. There are two chips and/or an inductor, that if they go, it's a lost cause. And that chip is one of the two. I only know about this because as a repair tech here, I've been inside more of these than most, just to analyze the failures. Some things are fixable on these, but unfortunately that isn't one of them.
  15. 1) Schematics are not available to the public. 2) If that chip is blown then some other items got blown with it. 3) If the trace is damaged, whatever PCB trace repair you might be able to do won't last.
  16. Static clicking with bare fingers,... there's a loose ground point somewhere. More than likely a chassis ground or shield somewhere in the signal path. Any other loose ground lead would be louder and sign of a ground loop. Also, try alcohol and a cotton swab and clean around the piezos, could be the casing not fully grounded.
  17. Hello, I'm the guy at Line 6 who services JTV, Standard and Shuriken guitars. Maple fret-board is a little faster, as I sometimes over shoot my intended fret. Neck pocket wise, they are fully interchangeable with the rosewood fret board neck, with exception of the US build necks,... truss rod nut access is on the opposite end of the neck. Contour on the back of the neck has a slightly different feel, another reason it feels like a faster neck. Otherwise the necks are the same maple necks, but with different fret boards on them.
  18. Changing the tension would change the set-up in general. May be other artifacts, as the circuitry wants to see certain frequencies on certain strings. Going outside of that frequency range will cause problems. It may sound okay at different frets and not okay on others. Going outside normal parameters like that is a crap shoot, as the saying goes. Be aware of that.
  19. There's nothing in the Pilot's guide because it's a 3rd party product, not a Line 6 application, and so it is not a Line 6 supported product. You will nee to go to the site where you got the application, and get whatever guide or manual they have from them.
  20. Make certain your SD card is the correct FAT format.
  21. Zoning rules are different there and in England, than they are here in the US. If they have all their i's dotted and t's crossed according to their zoning laws, then they're okay. There are two locations in Adelaide, Australia. You have a store front for your business?
  22. Not likely, too many of us old Variax players still out there,... including me.
  23. If you got DT Edit from GitHub, then it is a 3rd party application, so there won't be any documentation for that here on the official Line 6 site pages, since the application is not our product. If it's not in our Downloads page or online Manuals page, then you would need to go to the source site where you got the application and get a manual from there.
  24. Then it's something that won't be fixable by you. Log a support ticket, it will need to go in for servicing. Support will go over the options with you.
