    I C what U did there :D
  2. The HD500 and HD500X dimensions are identical.
  3. Don't see any links or attachments in your post to reference what you're talking about.
  4. No problem. I think you'll like it if you end up going with that one.
  5. What's best really depends on what you're looking for, but if you're looking for a nylon case with a pocket, the Gator Case is great: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002GL7ZO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've been using one for my HD500X for several months and I really like it. It's just a bit snug on the corners, but that gives it a nice comfy fit without letting it bounce around inside the case.
  6. Take your POD to your friends house if you can and try it there, both with your guitar and his.
  7. Ok, I guess I have another question. Are the electrical outlets where you're plugging in grounded? The reason I ask is because in my house I have both grounded and ungrounded electrical outlets. If I plug into the grounded outlets, I get very minimal buzzing from high gain amps, and a noise gate makes it disappear completely. If, however, I plug into an ungrounded outlet, I get very loud buzzing on high gain amps, and I have to really turn the noise gate up to compensate, and I usually can't get rid of it completely. This is true of all of my equipment; it happens with my POD HD500X and with my Peavey Vypyr VIP II amp. In my case, it's totally related to the electrical wiring in my house and I have zero problems at church where the wiring is better, or in the outlets in my house where the plugs are grounded.
  8. I just have one question. What does a mouse fart sound like?
  9. I use a tuner on my iPhone called PanoTuner (note: not PIANO tuner, but PANO tuner; I still see the word piano when I look at it). It's a great tuner. It does basically what the POD tuner does, and it is super accurate. It listens to the tone and shows you how far off your note is, and has a green range for showing you are in acceptable tune, with a white diamond in the middle of the green range to show that you are dead on 100% perfect. I use it before every performance and I use it almost all of the time when I tune at home. It's here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/free-chromatic-tuner-pano/id449780743?mt=8
  10. On a different approach, thin, tinny sounds are often caused by EQ settings that aren't well balanced specifically for a guitar's voicing. A lot of guitarists like the scooped tone, with higher treble and bass, but lower mids. This is exactly the opposite of how to get a good full, thick sound when mixed with a band. A guitar's voice is the midrange, and mids need to be boosted, with treble and bass lower, to sound full in a mix. It will sound kind of nasally without the mix, but will cause the guitar to stand out and be full when it is in a mix. If, on the other hand, you're just referring to a thin, weak signal that isn't giving you much sound output, this won't necessarily help much, but I wanted to throw it out there.
  11. If you disconnect the POD from your computer, do you hear anything through the headphones then? (Try with only the power cable, the guitar cable into "guitar in," and the headphones in the "phones" jack, and make sure the master volume control isn't down all of the way). Or, what happens if you plug a 1/4" cable into the Left(mono) 1/4" out and run it into the 1/4" input of your guitar amp?
  12. It's hard to make an exact comparison because there aren't really any amp models that both have in common, but in general, I'd say that the Vypyr (at least the VIP series) tends to be a little brighter. My one issue with the Vypyr VIP 2 (and I assume it's the same on the VIP 1 and 3 models) is that the high gain models are a little too "mosquito attack" sounding, so you really have to dial the gain down, but that may just be because the real amps being modeled are that way. But it is a great amp with amazing tone, I just wish it had a line out. Currently my favorite set up is to put my HD500X into "combo front" mode for practicing, and play through the Vypyr on the "Classic" clean channel. It sounds amazing like this. But live, I just use the HD500X direct into the PA w/ XLR and don't bother carrying my amp around with me anymore.
  13. I'm not disappointed with the lack of a 5150 amp model because I knew it wasn't there when I bought my HD500X. However, I'd be absolutely thrilled if it was eventually included in a fw update because I do have that amp model on my Peavy Vypyr VIP2 amp, and it's by far my favorite model on that amp.
  14. Yeah, a bit more than we probably needed to have shared with us.
  15. Each amp model has it's own individual volume control that is saved per preset. This is a good thing as when playing live you may want to have different presets at different volumes depending on the song/phrase, etc. There is also a master volume control that controls overall volume. Another thing to can affect volume is the mixer (the permanent block just after the amps in the signal flow). Most presets default to having the left and right channels panned hard left and hard right. If you use the mixer to center each channel, it can increase the volume on a specific preset quite a bit. These are all things that will start to come more naturally to you as you get more familiar with the POD and all of its features.
  16. Here's a link to the diminsions of the PD HD series pedals: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/pod-hd-weights-and-dimensions-r206 The 500 and 500X are listed on the same line with the same dimensions.
  17. I really like how the patch sounds. I did turn the cabinet res up to about 65% (haven't decided if I like it there or a little lower yet), but the patch sounds nice and full with just the right amount of drive, and it sounds great through the Paf Joe neck pickup. Thanks for the help.
  18. Awesome, thanks! I'll give it a download when I get home from work. I'll be playing (mostly) with an Ibanez S570 DXQM with a Paf Joe in the neck position and Norton in the bridge (and sometimes a Charvel Model 2 with a Screamin' Demon bridge). I appreciate the help and I'll try it out tonight.
  19. Well, I've started by trying with a couple of the Fender VIB models, and it seems like it's a start, but I'm not getting anywhere near what I would describe as a clinky (in a good way) sound in the clips I linked to above. From what I've read, Nuno used a cranked 63 Fender Vibroverb for this particular album.
  20. Keep us posted on your progress.
  21. When you say there is no sound through the headphones, is that with them plugged into the AudioBox or the HD500? Or is there no sound with headphones through either?
  22. I'd also check to make sure one of the footswitches isn't somehow stuck down.
