Ah, gotcha! Are you using the “Toe Switch” input on your Helix Rack? Helix Floor doesn’t have that so we have to “trick” an “EXP” input... Now we know they behave differently, great addition to the thread! Glad you got it figured out!

Hmm, maybe I'm not understanding what is happening for you. From your original post I was gathering that you had to actuate the switch twice to change its state, i.e.: pressing the switch once did nothing, twice changed the state, a third press did nothing, fourth changed the state again, etc. From this post it sounds like maybe it is changing state when you depress the switch and returning when you release it? Either way, Helix doesn't particularly care if your switch is latching or momentary, it only cares what the resistance is across that circuit and what that tells it to do. "Open" tells it there is no expression pedal present, 0 ohms (a short via the jumper wire on the switch) is heel-down/0%, and 10k ohms (via your resistor) is toe-down/100%. Whether the switch latches or returns or does anything else, Helix is just going to react to what the resistance is doing. A latching switch will change state once for each actuation while a momentary switch will change twice: once when the switch is depressed and then once more (back to its original state) when released. For this application, you'll want a latching switch. If you can be more specific about exactly what is happening when you actuate your switch then it will be easier to try and troubleshoot it.

That is interesting. Are you using a multimeter or evaluating its function by watching the state of a block in Helix? Any 3PDT footswitch like this that I've encountered has had just two states, ON/ON where the center (common) lugs connect to one side, then the other. Like this: Nothing in between; clicking twice puts you back right where you started. Did you source the switch online, and do you have a link to where it came from? I'd be interested to see specs if they're listed. If you have a multimeter then hook it up to measure resistance across your red and blue leads. You should get 0 resistance in one position (the jumper wire) and then the value of your resistor in the other (15k or 16k to look at the color codes?), and continuing to actuate the switch should alternate between them. If the results are different from that, what are they?

Likewise. With sufficient determination I can eventually log in on mobile, but I cannot log in at all on desktop. Multiple browsers, multiple machines, multiple days, multiple personalities, no dice.

I’m away from home for another couple of weeks so I am looking forward to hearing the chatter. I am quite excited about the DS-1, it’s a long time favorite of mine! I have 3 or 4 of them on the shelf with different mods, it will be cool to have it in the box.

I like seeing what pedals folks keep in the Helix fX Loops. I keep an Earthquaker Erupter, an Earthquaker Bit Commander and a Malekko Spring Chicken on my board with Helix. I don’t think it diminishes it at all, in fact I think it augments it! Also: nice rig!

That’s exactly what I was going to say. That sounded absolutely brutal, I can’t get Rectifire to sound like that. Nicely done, sounds great.

I dunno about that. I’ve got a couple of tube amps that I have had for a very long time, and I can’t remember the last time the manufacturer released a free update for them. Like hey Fender, when is my Blues Deluxe going to get true polyphonic pitch tracking? And, hello, I’m still waiting for my SuperSonic22 to get an onboard tremolo circuit! If you can imagine, I’ve actually had to pay OUT OF POCKET to perform some modifications!

I am still being logged out every time I exit a thread and go back to the main page. And that is using the in-forum links, not the browser back button. A new feature is that I have to go through the log in link several times because the first few it simply doesn’t work. I come back to the forum and I’m still not logged in.

Don’t forget the 80ohm! I use the DT770 Pro 80ohm with Helix and am quite happy with them.

This is what I’m getting too. Going from a thread back to the main forum page logs me out. Irritation level: moderate.

It’s not an effect I use much myself so I haven’t really had anything to contribute to this discussion, but from the perspective of this un-biased listener I thought that sounded just fine.

It’s a foray into the weeds, but Spikey is on point here. The original post is clearly derogatory toward US consumers, painting us all as uninformed and over entitled. As an educated, informed and gainfully employed American consumer that works hard for what I have, I find that the OPs assumptions are ill informed. The current political climate puts such nonsense in vogue, but it’s still nonsense.

I haven’t picked that one up yet, but it’s on my list. I have to clear some room for it, as my slots are all full... I will check those mixes out, thanks for the tip!

For the Ownhammer collections, I go straight to the Quick Start folder and grab the OH1 and OH1F mix files. They nail it for me every time.
