The higher impedance 250 suits my needs better. Not only w/ the Helix Floor, but also with various other Studio, commercial Audio, and Radio Transmissiom & Broadcast systems I use. I got the 250 for a great price; just a few more dollars than what I subsequently saw the 80 Ohm version had come down to. I also have quite a few other sets of headphones too. Grab a pair of the 80's if you wish, I've seen them recently for as low as $119!

There are some great deals on the 80 ohms version of the DT-770. I went with the 250 Ohm version and the Helix Floor has no problem powering the 250 Ohm DT-770. Nor does my Dell XPS 15 Touch.

Anyone Else having Trouble Signing into the Forum?
MusicLaw replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
Using Desktop Shortcuts or Favorites in Chrome Browser, both with latest April 2018 Win 10 update, have recently been a bit unstable. Normally, they resolve directly to the destination pages and I am already logged in. Recently, they resolve properly but often I'm not logged in and need to do so on one. Then refresh the other open browser tabs and all properly recognize my credentials. Same has been the case with IdeaScale. These are mere inconveniences and I am confident they will get resolved. -
Relay G10 flashes red in charger
MusicLaw replied to MitchellBergen's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
Thanks for posting your resolution. As you have discovered, not all USB cables are equal! The G10 Transmitter's charging current need is very low. I tested mine when I first got them and it was well below the recommendation of a using a standard USB 5v 1Amp charger. If I recollect correctly, the charging current was around 350 milliamps. As a result, I also use any one of several USB rechargeable lithium battery packs with my G10 system and have not had any problems charging, nor powering the receiver base unit. The accessory Line 6 G10 USB Charging Cable is a very handy accessory! -
Relay G10 sleep mode ni its base. Always on!!!
MusicLaw replied to ROBALLUSUS's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
If you wish to leave the G10 Transmitter in the Base Unit -- when power to the base unit is off -- simply pull the G10T about 1/4" out of the jack such that the G10T's microswitch (at the base of the male 1/4" plug) is no longer depressed. This will result in the G10T being Off. If you leave a fully charged G10T inserted in the powered off base unit it will go into Standby Mode after 4 minutes of no signal. A fully charged G10T is rated for 200 Hours in Standby Mode. So that's 8 1/3 Days until the batter is drained. A fully charged G10T battery lasts for weeks so long as the microswitch is not depressed. Mine has gone for as long as a couple of months and still had plenty of remaining charge to be used. -
There's no disputing Stereo signals through Helix are spectacular!

Would you mind posting a link to share your edited version of the PDF? Those of us (Letter size users) in the USA would probably find it helpful.

Cannot a 45° Clockwise orientation edit be accomplished using a full featured PDF editor and the edited image be saved to a Letter size page?

As you get more familiar with Helix Floor, the Helix 2.0 User Manual (Rev D) PDF becomes more helpful. Watch Jason Sadites' videos. They are excellent, and listed on Line 6's Helix Knowledgebase. Also see HelixHelp.com's > Release Notes for the items added, fixed, improved in subsequent firmware releases after the User Manual 2.0 (Rev D) PDF was released in July 2016. Line 6 has stated that a revised Helix User Manual would only be released with the release of a major firmware revision. So, the next one expected is whenever firmware 3.0 arrives. [Addendum: Each of Richie Castellano's Helix YouTube videos are outstanding and absolutely worth watching! My apology to Richie for not mentioning his vids in the first draft of this post.]

As far back as October 2015, there was a Known Issue in Line 6's Knowledge Base regarding Helix's FX Loops adding noise as a consequence of the A/D/A conversions -- merely by the presence of an FX Block in the signal chain! At some point in the last year this Knowledgebase Item was Deleted. There is no longer any reference to that item. There was also a fairly active thread on these User Support Forums (before they were revamped in the past month or so). I have not checked to see if that thread persists. That thread (or another on the same topic), included a Reply post from Line 6 Tech Support (Will, I think it may have been) confirming the existence of the FX Loop Noise symptom. At no time in any subsequent Firmware Updates has there been any specific mention of a this condition being corrected. It is entirely possible that the problem was reduced or corrected as General Improvements in one of the firmware releases. I used the Fourm's Search Tool and cannot find any of those pre-existing threads. Apparently, they have been removed.

These Sescom In-Line Phantom Power Blocker units are compact, inexpensive and work great! I keep a set with my Helix (in the Helix backpack).

No where else to turn to before I return My Helix
MusicLaw replied to leadplayer420's topic in Helix
Great to read that you got the issue Solved Yes. Adding bracketed "[Solved]" to the thread title would be the thing to do. -
Please do not give up on Frank Ritchotte, Line 6, nor the overwhelming majority of Helix community users. Frank and Line 6 are renown for their world class customer service and support.

No where else to turn to before I return My Helix
MusicLaw replied to leadplayer420's topic in Helix
After having rapidly read through this thread, I did not see any mention of your having reinstalled the firmware and manually performed a Full Factory Reset on the Helix unit you received from Sweetwater. Regardless of the fact that Sweetwater typically updates the firmware on the Helix units they ship, this might have been a point of failure if not performed or completed properly. It is a straightforward process and certainly less troublesome than having to return ship the unit for an exchange (if yours is fine with the exception that it merely needs to have the firmware reloaded). Please excuse of this has already been suggested in the thread. As originally stated, I only speed read through the thread. -
@ventolino your effort creating this PDF is a wonderful offering for all! You have every right to be proud of your results and of your choice to provide it freely for any and all to use as they may desire. It is, both, troubling and surprising to read that you were banned from the "big FB page" as a result of some "hard discussion" presumably regarding an opinion. If you opt not to participate in the FB experience (as many opt not to for a variety of reasons) there is a thriving Helix community on TheGearPage.net > The Gear > Digital & Modeling sub-Forum > Line6. There are also several Helix related threads in the Amp Modeling SubForum on the MyLesPaul.com Forums.

Mine has been functioning flawlessly now for over a year and a half. I did have three flawed receiver base unit USB jack failures and a pre-final firmware transmitter issue with the early ones in August - Sept 2016. The accessory USB charging cord for the G10 Transmitter has been phenomenal!

Although the RJ45 style wiring connections used by Helix (Rack to Helix Floor Controller and Variax) and Ethernet connections can function via a Cat5 or Cat6 cable, Line 6's protocols are not published. Moreover, the Helix Floor does not support the Helix Rack's Floor Controller unit. If there were a way to home cook using a MIDI Controller to power and control the Helix floor units, you'd be on your own getting it to work. It would be very slick if Line 6 provided the method. Perhaps in the future.... You may wish to submit the suggestion to IdeaScale.

Good start to what may likely grow to be a sizable task! I have often felt that a fill-in-the-blanks PDF form (pre-formatted to print on an 8 1/2" x 11" page) would be really handy to facilitate quickly scribbling down Preset and Snapshot Amp and FX Parameter ideas instead of using a blank pad. Particularly when using an Android Tablet where neither HX Edit nor HX Native are not supported this could be great. Even on a Notebook when neither running a DAW nor VST Hostng HX Native nor connected to HX Edit which requires a Helix. Feel free to run with the idea should it inspire you. Otherwise, one of these days when I have a lot of spare time, I may give it a shot.

Split your Signal Path so the Delay Block and Reverb Block are Parallel. Adjust the Mix Parameter of each of the two Blocks to taste for how much unaffected signal passes through each Block. You can also adjust the Blend where the Parallel Path come together in the Merge Block.

The LSR305 or larger LSR308 may be ideal for your near field setting. Their price point is compelling and they sound great. I have a set of each, and a THR10C, all of which I have used with my Helix Floor. Unless you need or want a fuller or louder sound field or to fill a larger room, any 10" FRFR PA Monitor may be overkill. In my view, any FRFR PA needs at least about 8'-10' for the Woofer and Compression Horn to blend. Some have also reported objectionable hiss at low SPLs from some of the high power FRFR monitors. Use your ears and go with what sounds good. You can't go wrong with the JBL LSRs for near field use.

6) The Helix Rack version with Helix Foot Controller supports more Expression Pedal options. You may wish to give that a consideration. 9) Snapshots support, if I recollect correctly, up to 64 Parameters. You may also define numerous parameters to have Min and Max values so that you control one or more simultaneously via the Expression Pedal. Some may ascend in value while others decrease in value when the Expression Pedal moves. These parameter assignments may also be changed for each Snapshot within a Preset. There is also Pedal Edit Mode that provides access to hands free changing of any amp's or FX's parameter values. 10) No. However connecting to a board's phantom power enabled XLR input will affect the audio making it sound harsh. Best to use an Inline XLR Phantom Power Filter or dedicated DI. Overall, most vendors have a reasonable satisfaction duration. You could grab a Helix Floor or Helix Rack w/ Controller to give them a try versus your preferred FX pedals and configurations. If it doesn't suit your needs, simply return it.

Where Was Your Helix Set On First Ever Turn On ?
MusicLaw replied to PaulWilliamson's topic in Helix
So long as you succeeded to update it to the latest firmware 2.54, you should be good to go. You may want to do the Factory Reset and Preset Rebuild: PowerOn+ FS9+FS10 routine to be sure that all the Factory Presets are present on your unit. To be sure, you should register the unit with Line 6 to be sure that the Serial Number has not already been registered. If you have any further problems, your dealer will handle it or you'll be covered by Line 6. For what it is worth, when I got my new Helix Floor the entire unit box and interior bag were sealed. The Variax jack's rubber cap was loose in the bag. The power switch was in the OFF position. When powered up the Preset was Factory Setlist 1; Preset 1A. The unit had an older version of firmware. It now has fw 2.53. -
This is an ideal candidate for a User Preferences setting! Not sure if the software Line 6 is using supports such configuration. Many Forum software products also have a rich 3rd party realm of add on products. Perhaps, Line 6 will consider this moving forward....
