  1. I can also affirm that the Helix sounds great with Shure SE-530 IEMs. The SE530 have a Sensitivity of 119 dB/mW, and a rated Impedance of 36 Ohms. I also have Sony MDR-V6 headphones (119 dB/mW, and a rated Impedance of 36 Ohms) and BeyerDynamic DT770 250 ohm headphones, both of which sound great with the Helix. Each is differently voiced.

    Helix FAQ

Yes. However, you may configure a Preset to use Footswitches to control the individual Bypass/Enable status of multiple Blocks (up to eight) in the signal path common to multiple inputs. You may also use the Snapshots feature to define up to Eight Snapshots per Preset. Each Snapshot allows you to configure up to 64 controllable Parameters -- including not only the Bypass/Enable states of desired Blocks in the common signal path (as well as the other signal paths), but also the values of any individual parameters of Blocks you wish to be altered in each Snapshot. The Snapshots do not support the presence or removal of a Block from the signal paths nor their positioning sequence. Nonetheless, there is a lot of flexibility!
  3. Just took delivery of the OnStage Stands MIX400 this weekend. Notwithstanding the published dimensions which indicate that the Stand's maximum arm width is a tiny bit too small to accomodate the Helix Floor, the Helix Fits -- Perfectly! This is due to the way the sides of the Helix are radiused. They curve inwards as they approach the base of the Helix. The curvature is just right to fit in the side rails of the OnStage MIX400. At the $65 price Amazon is once again currently selling them, this is a great way to go. When these jumped up at $119 (as they were for most of 2017), the price was excessive. I'm almost considering getting another one for my Allen and Heath Mixer. Hmmmm....?
  4. FYI, the OnStage Stands' MIX400 unit fits the Helix Floor perfectly! The unit is also amazingly rugged. It arrived a couple days ago, and the box was badly ripped torn and abused by the UPS shipping process. Nonetheless, I could not find any damage to the 5 arm caster base assembly, nor the upper bracket supporting unit, nor the telescoping tube unit that joins the other two. Highly recommended!
  5. Another element missing from the new HX Edit are the Input and Output meters (that are in Helix Native). These would be great to see in Helix Native.
  6. Also absent from HX Edit are the sweet Metering indicators :(
  7. @PerS, thanks for posting the fw 2.30 Model Summary Cheat Sheet Reference!
  8. Have you tried recreating the altered version of the Trainwrek Preset to see if the lockup still occurs? Does the lockup occur when the Helix is not connected to your computer?
  9. One thing still lacking from the new firmware 2.30 version series HX Edit and Helix Updater, is that there is no support for using an Android Tablet for the housekeeping tasks. I'm referring to the Backup and Restore features, and download and install of the firmware. If Android USB Class Compliance issues exist that preclude using HX Edit for Helix Control and Editing -- while using Helix for Audio -- it would still be massively convenient to accomplish just the above mentioned houskeeping chores from an Android device that already works with a USB OTG cable adapter.
  10. I do not run Helix with a computer. Are these control shortcut key combinations in the HX Edit's Help Pulldown?

    New Presets?

The Startup Button combinations remain valid. If you are upgrading from fw 2.20, or later, to fw 2.30 the step of manually rebuilding via power on w/ holding FS 9 &10 is no longer required. The new Updater takes care of the Rebuild procedure automatically.
  12. There are several similar models of rolling mixer stands from various manufacturers. On Stage, Quik-Lok, and Griffin each make a slightly different version. The On Stage is a few dollars more and seems to be the best designed of the bunch. The On Stage Mix400 and the Quik Lok QL400 have a 5 spoke base. The Griffin has a 4 spoke base. They vary in adjustable size capacity, adjustment methods, and subtle design features. I have seen photos of the Helix Floor on the On Stage Mix400. It seems that the Helix Floor's radiused sides are why it fits -- notwithstanding the published dimensions being a tiny bit wider than the max width of the Mix400. When mine arrives I'll confirm fit. [Note: Apparently the price of the Quik Lok has not come back down to the approx 50 or 60 that it was months ago. After the On Stage Mix400 jumped to $119, the Quik Lok's price followed. It's now in the mid 80's range.
  13. There are several Free IR's provided by Allure, available for download via the Line6 site at Line6.com/allure. I just installed these after I did the 2.30 update. The Allure IRs download is a separate zip file. It is not automatically installed by the new Updater. Nonetheless, it was a cinch to download and install them from the Line 6 site. Then Extract them from the Zip file and Import them to the Helix using HX Edit. I have yet to give them a listen. The included Readme PDF states: Line 6 Allure Pack IRs What is the Line 6 Allure Pack? The Allure Pack is a set of free IRs (impulse responses) created by Dan Boul of 65 Amps (http://65amps.com). Its goal is to emulate the unique dynamic mic’ing style of a world-famous producer known for his impressive guitar tones. The IRs • Allure_59_Tweed_P10N.wav • Allure_64_A30_G12.wav • Allure_64_USDeluxe_P12N.wav • Allure_67_Brit_Greenback.wav • Allure_70s_WhoWatt_100.wav • Allure_90s_Cali_V30.wav Loading the Line 6 Allure Pack Into Helix Loading custom impulse responses requires connecting to the Helix application in your Mac® or Windows® computer. The Helix application is available as a free download from line6.com/software. To load IRs into non-Helix hardware or software, see your product’s documentation. 1. Connect Helix (or Helix Rack) to your computer via USB and open the Helix application. 2. Click the Impulses tab. 3. Drag one or more Allure IR files directly into the Helix app's Impulses list. 4. Create an Impulse Response block. 5. With the Impulse Response block selected, turn Knob 1 (IR Select) to choose the desired IR.
  14. The price drops came in three incremental steps, since Tuesday. The last I checked it is still at $65.
  15. Next week Line 6 should update the 2.30 Updating Helix Installation Step No. 4 to include the language that is presently deep down in the Release Notes > New Features > 2nd Bullet item. This would help reduce the number of users that unintentionally overwrite the 2.30 Factory Presets Setlists when performing the Restore from their Backup.
  16. Amazon has dropped the price of the On Stage Stands MIX400 unit down from $119 back to $65 (what it used to be last year)! This works great for the Helix. See: https://www.amazon.com/On-Stage-MIX400-Mixer-Stand/dp/B000RXN6XI/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511547844&sr=sr-1&keywords=on+stage+stands+mix400
  17. The 2.30 Release Notes do not get around to mentioning selective Restore options until the second bulleted item of the New Features section which is deep into the Release Notes. As positioned there, it is very likely to be missed by many users the first time through! Moreover, there is no advisory warning nor explicit statement that Firmware 2.30's Factory Preset Setlists will be overwritten by allowing HX Edit to perform a full Restore (as implied by Release Notes' Step 4 of Updating a Helix...)! The Installation Instructions Step 4 should be clarified!! Another sentence or two added to Step 4 will prevent a lot of user frustration and reduce customer support load. Otherwise, there will inevitably be many users that miss the distinction of only restoring their personalized User Setlists, Globals, and IRs, so as to avoid overwriting the 2.30 Factory Preset Setlists.
  18. The new HX Edit Rocks!!! Not only does it work great with all the new improvements, it looks great on a large 27" Hi Res Monitor and works with Windows' Title Bar Maximize and Restore Screen buttons!
  19. Did the update tonight from 2.20 to 2.30 using a Win 10 desktop and 27" monitor. Also installed the Allure IRs. Entire process took 15 minutes. I restored only the Global Settings. There are new Factory Presets!
  20. I got the Takamine P3DC Acoustic Electric Single Cutaway Dreadnought. All Satin finish Solid Cedar Top, Solid Sapele Back and Sides. The guitar sings! It plays and sounds great acoustically, and Tak's palathetic pickup system (w/ CT4B-II Preamp electronics) sounds amazing. The Relay G10 works flawlessly with the CT4B-II Preamp electronics. Plugged in this guitar is outstanding! The Right Angle Adapter is not required. Nonetheless, it may be used to reorient the G10 perpendicular to the lower bout's strap button 1/4" jack. The G10 works with the Tak's Mute and AutoActivation features.

    Cables

I've been using the very reasonably priced South Creek Audio cables for quite a while. I have a dozen or so in various configurations and lengths, and yet to have any problem. They are very well terminated and have been durable. They're available in various lengths, and available with a right angle 1/4" TS plug on one end, if desired. I also use their patch cables in 1' and 2' lengths that I use to connect my Line 6 Relay G10 Receiver base to the Helix or other amps.
  22. Sony MDR-V6, 63 Ohms, 106dB SPL/mW. Sound great with the Helix. YMMV depending on the type of material you enjoy.
  23. I bought the Helix as a stand alone device, and use Line 6's Helix software solely for the necessity of updating firmware. Once the overhauled HX Edit appears and Line 6 then overhauls the remaining suite of Helix software (Firmware Installation, Updater, Presets Backup & Restore, and IR Management) such that overall Helix housekeeping is brought to a modern level of operational functionality (including screen scaling for large hi res and 4k monitors), I'll reconsider using Helix with a computer. Until then, it's a stand alone device for me.
  24. From DI's posts, here and elsewhere, the forthcoming new Helix editor program bears the new name: "HX Edit." HX Edit is slated for simultaneous release with firmware 2.30 soon. From my understanding of DI's posts, Helix's firmware technology engine is now also being referred to with the new name: "Helix Core." Once these terms become more broadly used in Helix related posts, they will help reduce ambiguities.
