    Wireless Rig

The system mentioned above could work to get your signals to the board, getting rid of output cable from the Helix, but you are adding a power supply and more cable for that. You are also adding potential points of failure. https://www.altoproaudio.com/products/stealth-wireless For me the simplest solution is 120VAC power for the Helix and my guitar wireless, and a single XLR out to the house. I do use an external expression pedal, but it is connected to Helix with a 12" 1/4" cable, so I don't count that.

    Wireless Rig

What rigs are you and your dad running and how do you have them connected with the main sound system?
  3. There are some good options within Helix giving you a similar effect. In many of my preset, I use the LA Studio Compressor as an always on in front (AOIF), thickens things up a bit before the signal hits the overdrives and/or amp model. I have used the Microphone Tube Preamp model an AOIF, and liked that as well.
  4. Yes, you should be able to do this. You will have to get a little creative in your preset though, and you would have to do this per preset, not globally. You would put a split in after your final block in your preset (most likely the cab/IR block), send one to output hard panned left, and the other to the looper and output hard panned right.

At the minimum for your rig, you are going to have to have power to Helix and at least one output connected (either an XLR or 1/4"). You can go wireless on IEMs, but they are fairly expensive. What other gear do you have there that you are trying to get rid of cables on? I have attached a picture of my church rig. I have power and a single XLR output. I am using the G10 wireless for my guitars. I do use a wired IEM connected to a Behringer P16 as well. All the other chords in the picture under my guitar are coming from other areas of the stage under the carpets, to the remote input unit we have in the back of the stage.
  6. Reaper does work quite well with Helix and is pretty simple to use.
  7. You may not get much help around here by firing off like that. The guy was just trying to help.
  8. Are you using the DVI cable with Variax, or just 1/4" cable?
  9. And I have attached a picture of myself from a show last year (the guy on the left). I suggest digging a little deeper on your research next time. There has never been a "Freeze" pedal model in the Helix.

    dead helix!

Yes, that is a known bug.
  11. When you are in your DAW, you should be able to choose the Helix ASIO Driver as your output device. That is the driver your PC will use (Audio Stream Input/Output driver) Then for individual track outputs, you should be able to choose USB 1-7 to the Helix.
  12. Ummm, you can't. LOL, I was incorrect on that one. Went back and looked at my super serial presets, and saw that I am incorrect on that one.
  13. You have to set playback in your software to playback on Helix ASIO, then pick which USB channels.
  14. Sounds like you made a purchase without researching what effects are modeled in the Helix. Line 6 did not model EVERY EFFECT IN EXISTENCE in the Helix. And you had your Helix for 6 months and during that time you did not go through the simple list of effects that it does have. Smells like you are just trolling. I don't think you are an actual Helix owner. Nice try...
  15. It is like installing an app on your iPhone, you do not have to do a factory reset on the phone to install an app. The software is stand alone on your PC. After the editor is installed, then you can connect your helix to your PC.
  16. Install the editor software with your Helix unplugged from your PC. Just install Editor. Then connect your helix, make sure it connects to your PC, then do your backups.

    dead helix!

Did you happen to have it on a preset with a Mesa Boogie amp model, with the amp bass setting at zero?
  18. If you have the Helix Editor on your new laptop, just make a backup like you normally did.
  19. Yes, I have some presets that are super serial. I have mine set with output 1a to that it returns to input 1b, and it offers a cleaner look. You will also get 1/2 your volume back from path 1 since you are sending 1/2 of it to an output that is turned down.
  20. Man, they should have used some high cuts do dial out the fizz...
  21. Pad is probably a necessity since you are playing EMGs. "Classic Rock" was in the vintage type pickup era. Pad will cut the output from your EMGs down to be more manageable on the front end of the amps you are trying to get your crunch from.
  22. Did you have your monitors connected to the Helix, and your recording track muted in your DAW while recording? If you don't do this, then you will have latency because your signal has to go through Helix, to your interface, PC/Mac, to your interface, to monitors. If you connect Helix to your DAW via usb, connect your monitors to the Helix, then there is zero latency.
  23. I use the Relay G10 for this. Some players don't like it, but I have been using it for about a year and love it. When I switch guitars, I just yank the transmitter out of guitar A, slap it in guitar B, and I'm good to go. No pops or cracks. This allows me to keep my Helix presets as simple as can be because of not having to control the input source.
