  1. I never adjust my volume knob on the Helix while playing at the same time, so it is not going to make ANY difference if the volume adjusts linearly or in steps. If anyone DOES adjust their volume knob at the same time in playing, then you have some good talent, and more creativity that I do.
  2. What I did way to buy the same relative sized PA speakers as the FOH I play in weekly. Our FOH is QSC K10s and K8s, with floor subs. So I purchased two JBL EON 610s for at home. I put the EONs in monitor mode and have them on the floor as wedges. I built 4 presets like that at home, and they translated over pretty darned well into FOH. The fact that our FOH has subs didn't really matter because I don't have anything bleeding over to that frequency range anyway. Keep in mind, that there will still be a difference though because of differences in monitors, the room, etc... Nothing is EVER going to be perfect. You need to find what will be "pretty darned good" for you, and live with it. Don't chase perfection and miss out on the fun of playing guitar.
  3. If I remember correctly, the vintage digital delay has a "headroom" parameter, or something like that to simulate older low resolution systems. Maybe the noise is being created there and accentuated by effects downstream. Maybe try changing the delay to the Simple Delay and see if it goes away.
  4. Try it also in a different room, with the speaker sitting upright, and with you standing in a different location in the room. I can't hear it really in the video, which leads me to believe that it may be the room.
  5. Digital clipping sounds may be "enhanced" by all the delays and reverbs in an ambient preset, especially if trails are left on. Sometimes switching between snapshots (depending on what parameters you are changing), you could be slamming some of the "trails" with some new signal with a new gain characteristic from the new snapshot. Bypass all the delays, reverbs, and time based effects and see if it goes away. Also do like DD mentioned above and just create a new dry patch to see if is still apparent.
  6. I wouldn't buy a product HOPING that an option would someday show up on it. JMO
  7. Not at all. I would have been mad the other way around: bought an LT and the Floor model came out after for $500 more. I love the scribble strips and the tank construction.
  8. One thing many of us to is to put a three digit number in front of your IR file name. The three digit number represents which slot it was in. For example: 000-M1960_121_1 001-M1960_121_2 002-Rect_57_1 003-Rect_57_1 ... That way when you import, you can do so in order
  9. DI explains it all http://line6.com/support/topic/26575-helix-lt-faq/
  10. Yeah, you would think if one effect would be easy to build, it would be an auto volume swell. But then again, I don't write code for effects modeling.
  11. I didn't realize so many people live in Slovenia.

  13. It's been about 6 months for me, and I am just now getting very close to "my" sound. It still sounds different when I listen to that same group of presets through headphones, and it will sound different still in a different set of headphones.
  14. Any time you import presets/setlists into Helix using editor, the next time you reboot it will rebuild the presets.
  15. Ah, that makes sense. I always save my presets with the volume block at 0%.
  16. No issues with update/snaps here... maybe it's just pitch related stuff.

If so, time to integrate one of these on my rig: https://www.keithmcmillen.com/products/12-step/
  18. I backup all three (bundle, setlists, individual presets) in separate folders, weekly, and always before a firmware update.
  19. Sounds like you are pasting it into a preset with not enough DSP available.
  20. Definitely open a support ticket on this to get it on their radar.
  21. I played with it briefly as well, and it seems to be better based on the short time on was on it. I will dive in a little more on it this week.
  22. I jumped into the upgrade Saturday morning and it went swimmingly. Did a little more tone tweaking as well. Sounded fantastic at church on Sunday. On a side note, the Badonk amp model on my tele sounds amazing. The big bottom along with the tele mids and upper chime sound great together. I am going to have to build a preset with the Badonk as the core tone this week for sure.
  23. It is a "save as" button, it just doesn't say that on the button. You click save once and it brings up choices above each dial below the screen. You choose the location, and you also change the name on that same screen. You are "saving as" in a different location with a new name you dial in.
  24. The first thing I found myself doing when transitioning to a powered PA speaker was to use low and high cuts on my cab/IRs. The low end was fairly muddy and boomy, and the high end was kind of harsh. I saved all of my presets with "PA" at the end of the name, and tweaked them separately. I play mostly Teles and Strats and not a lot of high gain stuff. I high cut most of the cab/IRs to 10khz and low cut most at 90-100hz. Also beware of harshness from reverbs. I generally run the mix on all of mine from 20-40%, and use the high cut parameter in the reverb block at 1khz.
  25. Yeah, that's what I am doing now, but it would be so much more elegant to use a separate set of snapshots parameters for just the time based stuff. I find myself having to use more delay and reverb blocks that way though because you can just turn things on/off with stomps.
