Also, download the 2.0 manual and go to the snapshots section to give it a read.

I also just started running Editor and Reaper at the same time recently on my PC (Intel Core i7-6500, 8GB ram). The Helix Editor crashes quite often when I am changing presets from the Helix. I'm not going to open a ticket because I know 2.20 is right around the corner, and I believe the editor interfacing will be different. I am not even recording on Reaper at the time, just using the meter to adjust levels between presets/snaps.

Drop the blocks in just like you describe and it should work. Use mono effects before your amps, merge after the cabs, then put in a stereo delay and reverb after the merge.
-
Definitely follow the firmware release notes that Spikey posted. If you don't you WILL have issues.

KRK Rokit 6 is a 6" studio monitor. There are frequency adjustments on the back of the monitor. What do you have those set at? Also, it won't really perform very well at the very low frequency ranges (~80hz on low E string) due to the size of the speaker.

Try not using one of the factory presets, and just put in an amp model and a cabinet model of an amp/cab that you are familiar with in real life (not modeled). Since you are familiar with that amp, you should know how the gain, master, etc affects the tone. Don't add effects until you get a core tone you are familiar with.

You can just move the file from the Download folder into a folder you create on your desk top.
-
Yes, most likely. That's why you need to have a backup cable laying there by your wireless unit (no matter what wireless unit you have) for when it does fail.

Stomps- 8 with bank/preset up/down, or 10 without bankpreset switches Snapshots- 8 with bank/preset up/down (LOTS OF POWER AND FLEXIBILITY WITH SNAPS) Paths- all 4 paths can be run serially if you want, or they can be re-routed. All 4 are available though.

I play mostly clean tones with a variety of the amp models on Helix and I am quite pleased with the shimmering tones I can achieve. Once you have had the Helix for a while your ears will lead you to some really great sounding tones.

If you unplug your USB cable when it freezes, it will fix it.
-
I had a freeze up on 2.12 NOT plugged into a PC/Mac for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
-
For now I plug an external pedal into EXP3, and use the on board for EXP1 and EXP2. Set your volume blocks to EXP2, and it shouldn't drop to 1% any more.

Are you playing through a guitar amp, PA speaker, or just listening through headphones?
-
Yes, you can follow that topic.

The A/B split was engineered to be assigned to a foot switch, which is not beneath the Helix. Just throwing out a simple suggestion of doing exactly what the original post was looking for. If you have duct tape in your tool box, then use it when appropriate.
-
As the first post mentions, there are two different instruments, so you could have guitar stuff on path 1 and bass stuff on path 2. When you are done playing guitar, turn the volume pot on the guitar down to zero, then play your bass. It would be the same as if you playing separate "real" rigs.

Generally speaking, not a single dB boost amount will work in all scenarios. Way too many parameters affect how it will sound (guitar, amp type, effects, what other band members are playing, etc...). Your sound guy should be able to tell you if you are cutting through the mix. If you aren't, then boost some more or turn other things down.

Screen flashing tempo settings. Have you seen this?

Sounds like a flaky tap switch. Open a support ticket with Line 6, or get with the vendor you bought it from if it was a recent purchase (or 2 years from Sweetwater). -
You can control the "A/B split" block with a foot switch. You do have to assign the foot switch though.
-
How about put the freeze in one of the loops and run it in parallel with your "dry" tone (crude sketch attached). You can then control the y split to turn off or blend. EDIT- Correction to the sketch, the merge should be before your CAB-IR block, not after.
-
Input impedance is on Page 21 in the 2.0 manual. What amp and cab models are you using. What effects are you using?
-
Make sure your volume blocks are assigned to EXP2, and if you are using wah, assign it to EXP1. There is a bug when assigning volume to EXP1, the volume % will randomly drop to 0-1%.
-
It's all 5VDC, so the smoke will stay in them.
-
Put your freeze in one of the loops. Then run guitar signal to a split. Split 1 is just guitar (dry), split 2 has your effects (wet) which is the Freeze at 100% mix into your trem.
