Honestly 3 weeks seems fair to me. Not sure its much less than that in US, unless you are lucky enough to have a L6/Yamaha support center in your town. Took 6 weeks for me, from Italy to Germany and back...for a damn joystick. That was way too much, but 3 weeks (aka 15 working days) seems good to me. I mean, these are places with walls of crap to fix, they arent scratching their heads, waiting for someone to knock. Imho 100% :)

No. (a waste of what? Lol) What I do just after an update is to reset everything and restore the backup, which means getting my unit setup as it was before. Globals, Preset, favs, defaults, IRs etc.. That's exactly the point of doing a backup.

I think the hold and tune is necessary on the Stomp, as it's just 4+1(tap/tune) switch available. Sure, an option to make FS3 just tap or just tune, would be also nice. I wouldnt personally use, as I need Tap, but I see the point. Id like the option to split tap and tuner in the Rack control, or in the Floor. That would be cool indeed. Ideascale? :)

Didn't know I could use both Stomp and Rack, within two separate Edit sessions, and cross copy/paste what I want from one to the other. That's awesome! Just saying...:)

Looks like you are overcomplicating things that are easy. Like using Helix as audio interface, and that's basically fixing all your problems.
-
It's interesting, Im reading lot of stories about the HX Effects Loop, and all of them are potentially related to a signal bleed problem, which can be either caused by wrong code, faulty hardware or defective batch. I'd contact support asap.

Maybe it will last 12 hours next charge...XD

Question on using the Behringer FCB1010 with the Helix.
PierM replied to wiiqwertyuiop's topic in Helix
You'd need at least a UnO eprom to have stomp mode working decently. Just keep in mind, comunication is not bidirectional, so may happen you have a block in bypass, while it's ON on the FCB1010, or viceversa. -
Indeed that. I remember another guy doing same mistake...

HX Edit isnt producing any audio, then for sure it does sounds different. :D

South of Sardinia. :)

Did that twice on my old Helix Floor to fix two scribble strips with same symptoms. (scribble flashing randomly and/or not displaying any data) Before to do that, just contact support and see what they says. I did on my own because Im good with electronics and that was way quicker and cheaper than shipping the unit and wait for the fix.

If you are out of warranty and you have some bit of experience with electronics, it's an easy fix. You can find the part here: https://britishaudio.com/collections/line-6-parts/products/line-6-helix-effects-footswitch-lcd-display

That's why I keep couple of scribble strips replacement in my toolbox lol...(been there, done that) . Jokes apart, contact support. It's hardware related and isnt fixable UI side.

Should not freeze, but usually it can go stuck or nuts, if there is a closed MIDI loop, like MIDI out messages bouncing back to MIDI in. (like for example Helix sending MIDI messages to a device which has MIDI Thru open, and that is connected to Helix MIDI IN)
-
^ ^ This above, or you could also use a free app, like Cubasis LE or similar, that allows you to load your backing track, and control the output going into Helix at the Cubasis Track or Master level.

Does it smell good? Sorry man, I believe you baked the PCB... (wrong voltage, wrong polarity, both?)
-
For a such small footprint I see no point in using buffers.
-
They are cool but the cost to cover the entire floor is to much imho (especially for EU imports).

Im a fanboy, I shall fight the battle!

And yet another Helix vs Fractal thread in 5, 4, 3, 2.....
-
I hear no difference, but man, I like that '64 ES-345!!!
-
Yeah, I totally believe that. I do get a similar result using just a bit of compressor and rolling back the guitar tone to reduce harmonics, which is the same thing I do when I need some pitch to midi conversion. It works.

I'm not gonna reply to this, as you'll probably read it in 2026...
