  1. no.. reverb is its own thing (execpt the 63 spring reverb resides in FX1, because of its more intensive DSP requirement) this should give you the idea:
  2. i'm being too lazy at the moment :) haha... that and i really do work during the day!... I just happen to do remote support, which means i'm always online and always mutli-tasking. not to mention easily distracted....
  3. another idea, that bypasses all those issues... what about simply making the edit program have a text file that loads up the defaults when used within the edit software.... won't help with any hardware limitations... but at least the feature would exist somewhere... and could very well be helpful... sounds like someone should put that on ideascale! :D
  4. yes, if your assumption is correct.
  5. I highly suggest anyone having these issues open a support ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ this will get you the attention you may need to get this fixed... the more people that report the issue and work with them, the better chance they have of locating the root cause and fixing it for everyone.
  6. I'm skeptical that either will come back in any form... (it could happen you never know...) but i would safely assume that the sound would not be the same if it did come back.... i would suggest trying some combinations in workbench HD to get you closer to where you want to be... if anything does come... it's not likely to be soon... if the model is critical and you can't come close, you may be better off staying at 1.9
  7. I know, just wasn't super clear in your description... wanted to make sure it wasn't something simple.
  8. I honestly don't know... i know that sweetwater was updating their before shipping... I have no idea what the factory is sending out.
  9. the version of edit will do exactly what the unit can do... the hd300 has certain limits compared to the 500 for example: one of each type of effect... and one particular frustration that people have with the 300 is that they can't use say a compresser, overdrive, and eq at the same time because they all exist in the FX1 slot... that's a limitation of the device... which is reflected in the version of edit...
  10. True, but the hardware etc is essentially a computer inside of this guitar, and it worked fine with the initial "software" installed. the update is apparently either not taking correctly or exposing some tolerances internally that aren't quite up to the job. it is a horrible situation for the owner no doubt... but we're simply not talking about something as simple as a standard guitar.
  11. indeed... each version of edit is different... to match the capabilities of the unit itself. basically the version of edit is as good as the unit you choose no artificial limitations... the previous poster nailed it... choose the unit that suits you and the version of edit will compliment those features.
  12. sorry to hear that, i think your guitar needs service. but i might try version 1.83 (because i hate giving up easy...) 1.83 made some structural changes in the software... (required for the hd acoustics), and maybe these differences will matter? maybe not? but it's something to try until line6 gets you're guitar into service.
  13. 1.9 amd 2.0 use a different version of workbench as well... are you using the 2 different programs with the 2 different firmwares?
  14. there is no pc connection on the spider jam (its actually a spider 3 amp) you can only do updates or recordings etc via the SD card...unless you use some other interface to get it to your computer.
  15. I agree with most of your PRS rant.... however i can never unsee a quick google of this classic turd you think is timeless and cool.... that's buttass ugly! and i generally love gretsch guitars.
  16. i mostly didn't like the price honestly... it was double the 300/600 price and offered just a bit of lipstick for the same functionality i think it would have been better with pickups... cosmetically... but that goes for the other gen 1 variaxes too....
  17. one thing that surprised me is that the headstock on the 59 is the same as the 700 acoustic... those 2 guitars feel extremely similar! i mean weight and everything.. (save the obvious like controls, etc)
  18. Line6 no longer does support for propellerhead. You may need to go here: https://www.propellerheads.se/support/contact/
  19. the JTV included power adapter is for the battery charger... both variax gen1 and jtv's use the same power adapter if using the XPS box.
  20. the X3 models are the same as the XT... the x3 is capable of dual tones though.
  21. just a note.. try reflashing back to 1.7x and then flash to the latest....from there... i've seen this work... not 100% of the time... but for some reason this can clear some lingering issues... worth a shot if you want to give it a go...
  22. i'm not sure what you mean by channel switching jack... unless you just mean a 1/4" out that will plug into the FS input on your amp... then ok... that would be mildly useful.. (greatly useful to some perhaps) but the pod is primarily an amp modeler... so switching channels should not be highly necessary... (again perhaps useful to some though, i concede) as for spillover... you're talking double the DSP processors.... and i for one am NOT willing to pay 1000$ for the same pod with this one added feature. (okay... 900$ i mean i guess we still need one chassis etc... still substantially more) just spend a few bucks and put a delay of your choosing in the loop... get one with midi that will turn on and off with your patch changes etc... if it did have double DSP... i'd have dozens of uses for that well before i'd get worked up about spillover.
