yeah, i'd be wary for sure... but i do have an original ipad and a newer one, and the old programs work, they just don't update if ios6 or newer is required. but even that leaves you 1 firmware update from having to upgrade... i generally go for new with apple stuff.. used prices aren't usually low enough to justify it for me... but 169$ is reasonable vs a used ipad.
-
you can get older ipads that would work for 169$ http://www.cowboom.com/search/results.cfm?keywords=ipad&page=1&order=price_low&store=fixed&query=&view=grid (it's a bestbuy site) anyway... just throwing that out there for people... the 4th gen you got is clearly better, but options is options.

what can i say.. i was lured by multiple stereo synced loops... extra effects, 3 hours time, drum tracks, and routable I/O :D etc etc etc
-
I use an rc300, but thats a bit overkill for most... but i got tired of messing around with lesser models that did half of what i wanted. the rc300 does more than i could want... so i'll grow into it and not out of it.

did you go into the license manager and authorize your device? that's a pretty recently added step.. so maybe you missed that with your years of experience. you bought them, so just make sure that you are logged into the license manager with the account you bought them with, and authorize. this will unlock the goodies.

Need Help With Pod Farm And My Pod Ux2
TheRealZap replied to jacksonpro's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
unfortunately that screenshot just shows windows dealing with the error and does not indicate what the actual error may be. i would get slimdrivers (google it) and make sure that all of your computer drivers are up to date. I would also check your add/remove programs (programs and features on windows 7) to make sure that you do not have any USB filters etc installed (some AMD systems ship with this) -
sounds like you've got the general idea... but have you considered getting an xt or x3 bean second hand... things would get alot simpler!

Need Help With Pod Farm And My Pod Ux2
TheRealZap replied to jacksonpro's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I would try removing pod farm 2, and reinstalling. it may need to install some external packages (visual c++ type microsoft packages) that's just what i'd try next, -

yes, you're correct. the license manager looks correct. (the computer authentication doesn't matter since the license is tied to the UX2 though) -

TheRealZap replied to jacksonpro's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
yes, but if you authorized it using the wrong account... you would need to use the right account. or if line6 has the wrong license on the back end, the only fix will be contacting them. -

you have to log into the license manager and authorize your UX2. You have to use the same account that you originally bought it with to login. pod farm 1.12 should work immediately as that license is factory hardcoded... you can have pod farm 1.x and pod farm 2.x installed... if that helps you move any faster... if you have issues authorizing your UX2, you may need to contact Line6 to look at your account on the back end. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -

Connection Problem With Pod Hd500x
TheRealZap replied to Audiotanker's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
sounds like you are trying to monitor from a different interface than the hd500x. typically you just plug in your speakers into the hd500x and be done... using the same hardware for input and output controls latency, as well as other digital artifacts and jitter. you may be able to if you must... you'd need to look into aggregate audio... a quick google should give you the idea... I don't use the feature and can't really be any more specific. and also... it's not a "problem" it's by design... for the reasons stated above. (goes for all pro level audio devices not just line6) -
easy.... 4 screws at the top and it slides right out.
-
usually you can register, but you may need to contact support if the previous owner still has it registered. Registration helps support track the history of your specific unit. i'm pretty sure that the hd400 comes with the power adapter a usb cord and some mail in registration cards. there is no manual, as things change from time to time they left the manual as a download only.

Show Us Your Dream Rig.
TheRealZap replied to Django_Oconnell's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
very nice! love my rc300, you got a lot crammed in that space too, nice. -
I do know what i'm talking about. all experts have to sign a NDA (non disclosure agreement) and from time to time we also participate in betas as well as have direct contact with the product managers. when i don't know something I ask.... often times they will tell me more than i'm able to share (NDA) i don't make decisions.... but i don't make stuff up either... if i say i know something, then i do... if i hint at knowing something, then i MAY know something and not be able to say. contrary to what you may think... i probably do have some idea of what line6 may or may not do... they certainly don't tell me everything... and certainly don't want me talking about lots of things they do tell me.... lovingly signed, the helpful yet pompous lollipop.

Podfarm And Gearbox Side By Side?
TheRealZap replied to thefesteringheap's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
i've never seen that, and we honestly don't have many reason users asking questions around here. i would suggest opening a ticket or calling line6 directly. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -
dude chill out... i don't have to alert them to anything i do that to help people out... i'm not going to alert them to every difference of opinion. i didn't select a title or anything... i was just a new guy once and asked alot of questions... stuck around shared what i had learned from everyone here... that's it. no secret... no super better than everyone ego type musician... with 40 years of experience you undoubtedly put my music abilities to shame... happy? now stop trying to make it personal.

i'm not insulting you... and i'm also not employed by line6... i'm saying you basically took a guitar that you'd never played before to a gig... and that's not the guitars fault. and that is my opinion i'm expressing right next to yours... so we can assume the forum works. :D

Podfarm And Gearbox Side By Side?
TheRealZap replied to thefesteringheap's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
reason doesn't support VST's if i recall correctly, there should be a seperate line6 rack within reason that gives you some of that pod farm functionality.
