  1. number 1: you can do this, just run the 1/4" into your pod... (although they will fix this) number 2: wtf were you thinking turning up at a gig with an untested update? of course you'd have to tweak etc... you brought that one on yourself though.
  2. the HD models sound "even better" already.... but this was about people wanted the older models... i'm just saying... if you re-model them in HD... they aren't the same models... and you'll still have people who like the old models...
  3. you need hd500x edit... not line6 edit.
  4. I don't think you have to have any specific knowledge to know that space used for old models=less space for new models. (SG, jazzmaster, jaguar, national, nylon string, etc etc....) and i i said earlier... the old models wouldn't sound the same on the new firmware... so what is being asked for, won't give you what you are asking for.
  5. I've has a similar thing happen with logic... in the end i found my timing was slightly off... i went to the midi edit view and sure enough the initial note was just outside of the loop area... dragged it inside the loop area and everything was fine...anyway... just something to look at. it seems i anticipated the note just the tiniest fraction during count in.
  6. just the stereo track (wet) however, you can be clever and create a tone with two mono tracks one wet and one dry if you need to. i personally use a different interface, and you can record the SPDIF dry, this way i have a fallback track if i want to re-amp etc... but still record the full HD stereo track while performing.
  7. fair point... but many thought that the acoustics had been upgraded again and they weren't... they are just now being rendered through the HD engine...
  8. I don't even think this is possible,,, they've updated the "engine" behind the models to the point where the old models wouldn't sound the same in the new firmware. and they're not going to want to spend time tweaking the old models...
  9. I do not work for line6, But i did speak very specifically to those that worked on this model. and again refer you to my previous words... nothing is changing on this model, except for the elimination of the need for the common knowledge workaround.
  10. they did compare it to a real strat... and the modeled sound is accurate to that strat.... i'm sure there are millions of other strats...that sound different... here's details on the modeled one: The hugely popular Fender® Stratocaster® can be heard on hits by legendary guitarists Jimi Hendrix (“Foxy Ladyâ€), Stevie Ray Vaughan (“Pride and Joyâ€), Eric Clapton (“Laylaâ€) and many others. Based on* 1959 Fender® Stratocaster®. Considered a radical departure when introduced in 1954, the Stratocaster® influenced electric guitar design more than any other single instrument—and its distinctive comfort-contoured body, bolt-on neck and versatile electronics have become industry-standard features. Our model takes one slight liberty—unlike the modeled instrument, the tone control works on the Bridge pickup, too. this model will not change to suit your preference... you can either mess around with it in workbench HD, rollback to 1.9 and mess around with that in workbench if you desire, accept it, or wait and hope that one day they offer additional models or model packs... (possible... but not likely to be anytime soon...)
  11. there is no fix... the pitch glide is monophonic.
  12. give support a call, they can probably take care of the whole thing for you on the back end. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  13. one issue with this link is that it dodn't show up if you left the default windows 8 selected.... i had to select windows 7 or earlier to find it...
  14. everything will happen through the pod, except possibly a master volume if your amp has one.
  15. they tried that... and people where upset because they didn't individually get attention... now that a ticket or call is required, people get that personal attention.... but apparently we now get upset because the mob on the forum doesn't get attention. they do not have unlimited resources,... put in a ticket requesting line6 presence on the forums... or use the http://line6.ideascale.com/ if it's something that gets enough support, i'm sure they'll shift the resources they have around... just remember, you'd probably be giving up the ability to call or put in a personal ticket... or possibly increasing wait times for those to a week.... they can't be everywhere at once.
  16. how is a vote going to answer this? it's not... I will.... Line6 support does not actively monitor the forum, unless the experts bring something to their attention. SOME... Line6 product managers are active on the forum (primarily dboomer, in the wiireless and PA system forum areas)
  17. depends on your OS, and some settings... basically download the file select it with your mouse hit F2, backoff .zip and type .hbe if you don't see .zip, you need to go into your file setting and enable "show file extension"
  18. No problem, glad it wasn't a defect... stick around.. i wouldn't know anything at this point if it weren't for a long series of noob moments and the rest of the gang here :)
  19. the tuner only works with input 1, so if you have something plugged into aux etc it won't work... might be the issue? worth mentioning anyway.
  20. actually it would be cheaper to buy 2 jtvs and keep one at 1.9.... than to buy a 300 and do any kind of transplant... i think... but i've never seen anyone build a transplant variax and not gold plate every detail to the point of being an expensive deal.
  21. you can probably partner up with someone looking to make a transplant and make that happen... unlikely it will happen through line6... and James Tyler's version is a little different: http://www.tylerguitars.com/p-42-ultimate-weapon.aspx and likely way more expensive.
  22. they will not be radically altering any of the tones... i've heard many others say that those specific models were greatly improved for them... bottom line... you can't please everybody... so rather than try they specifically and accurately model the specific instrument they have, and it is what it is. are there other ricks that sound different than the one they modeled.... surely. is there some technical limitations to what they can do.... surely i'm certain they'll continue trying to overcome the technical limitations and bring you the most accurate reproduction of the model they can... outside of that i wouldn't expect any of the older models to resurface. stay at 1.9 if it suits you better, tweak in 2.0 if you can get closer to your personal taste... but whatever you do... i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for line6 to deliver update to the models currently released... stranger things have happened... so its not impossible... but highly unlikely to happen quick if ever.
  23. you cant connect to the 500 via VDI and the interface at the same time... methinks you got confused :)
