    I thought he meant logging into different user profiles on the computer... i don't think you can have multiple line6 logins with the same licenses.

    the metal shop doesn't have a manual, it's only unlocked part of gearbox/pod farm not separate software. the metalshop unlocked models should start with MS-

    they do sell this... but i wouldn't want them to include it... as the price is high enough without including it.... they currently include the workbench interface... which is worthless to a pod owner.... i'd rather they left that out and dropped the price 100$ (what they charge for it alone) the battery is also mostly worthless to me... if they left the battery and charger out they could drop another 100$ pod owners don't need it if they use VDI.... in any case... i think they would get more owners by finding ways to reduce the price than they will by packaging it up to fit your needs. more owners means more demand to develop and improve the software and technology.... which would probably address some of your other issues.

    mighty nice strat.... my MIM strat was better playing and sounding so I traded off my MIA. I did get this beauty in the trade though :) I really want an MIA telecaster 52 reissue.... like the one i foolishly trade off about 25 years ago... just need to have me a clearance sale and raise the funds to do it... :D

    did you get the latest version of gearbox? if you used an old disk or download that would cause problems.

    the x3 becomes your sound card... the fix is to plug your pd speakers into the x3.

    it's telling you that it is edited, so that you know you need to save it.... sounds like its working properly.

    I'd get slim drivers: https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php and run that to make sure you have the latest drivers... I suspect that windows 8 defaults to lower performance drivers just to be more compatible.... slim drivers will find usb and chipset drivers that you didn't even know existed. it's worked for me and others a few times... doesn't work for everyone, everytime as ultimately there has to be better drivers to install better drivers.

    you do know that you can overwrite every model on the variax? also if you use a pod XT or X3 you can have every model be custom AND access all the original factory presets? (build the model into the tone and select the "f" models for factory, or "u" models for user models... both f and u are the same at start) this of course only applies to the original variax.... the factory models were removed from the james tyler variax at version 1.8+ if i recall correctly to accommodate the HD acoustic models.

    well pod farm 1 is generally free with the x3... in some cases later pod farm 2 was included.... if you bought it used, more than likely pod farm 1 is the only license. i'm confirming very plainly though... that the standalone pod farm (1 or 2) is 100% not included with the x3... forget about it it won't work unless you bought a pod farm license independent of the x3. there is only one installer... that installs both the standalone and the plugin... they will only work if you have a license, even though they are both installed. download and run pod farm 1... it will likely work and unlock all the models with the x3 as a plugin. that would probably solve most of your confusion.

    I do not believe that the CD input would be relayed to the L6Link so it probably would not work for you. The microphone might.. but i'd suspect it wouldn't work well.

    the x3 only comes with the plugin license, and will not work in standalone mode.... i suspect that you are trying to launch from the icon.

    the original pod farm 1 has the effects and amp chain restricted to be able to do only what the pod XT and X3 were capable of... sounds like they may have fixed that in pod farm 2... myself... i couldn't imagine ever needing or wanting to run a preamp into an amp (that already has a preamp)

    pod farm 2 allows multiples from the same category... pod farm 1 does not... not 100% sure that this applies... but it may well be the issue.
