  1. you need to download and install Line6 Edit: http://line6.com/software/ after you do that you should be able to get some tones here: http://line6.com/customtone/browse/vettaii/
  2. he's got exactly as much love as he purchased.... and maybe more, depending on when he bought it... while i don't disagree entirely with what you're saying... i think people's expectation is what primarily leads to their disappointment. if you expect your current stuff to always be the latest and greatest... that expectation is a bit much... although if you're saying you want a new latest and greatest hardware offering from line6 etc... then it feeds into the whole disposable/cheap point you are making... besides L6 just got purchased by Yamaha... don't think that Yamaha would buy a company that didn't have a plan for the future....
  3. They are surely working on many things behind the scenes... i'm confident when i say that Amplifi is not intended to be their flagship product or primary focus. It is their latest offering, and the one that they are investing in and establishing at the moment, it's that simple.
  4. you need to contact support: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  5. the only line6 supported pedal is the EX1, the mission pedal is supported by mission... all other pedals and you're on your own... some work, some don't... but none can be calibrated with the pod... you'd have to physically adapt the hardware in some manner to do any sort of calibration... to give the pod what it wants.
  6. I think it could be worth a try... i could only guess if that's it or perhaps a physical issue with the buttons? Support would have more ideas than i do though.
  7. you need to contact support, official statement: No firmware updates will appear for Vetta II in Monkey or the website for public users. Customers will still be able to connect a Vetta to Monkey, but the Flash Memory item will not appear. Verbiage to use with customers is shown below: Because of the number of times we’ve seen units become inoperable because of a break in the data stream during the installation of the Vetta firmware, we feel it is best to remove the update from our website. Any circumstances that require the firmware to be reinstalled should be referred to our support staff via support ticket or phone call. Our team can be contacted at www.Line6.com/support.
  8. i could be wrong i suppose... but pretty sure that expression 2 is analog and entirely dependent on having the right pedal... if you have some non line6 pedal that doesn't work... it was never meant to... and no... you cant simply calibrate it... if on the other hand you have the ex1 from line6 you may have a pedal problem.... (or its mission engineering big brother)
  9. ahhh, well that's different, never had the issue with my 600 either... but i guess my mini rant only applies to the JTV's :D
  10. could be alot different... as your typical computer speakers will have their own characteristics.... studio monitors try to be transparent and give you the sound of the source.... you can of course play and enjoy the sounds with computer speakers... it should all be relative.... but when you start recording you may find that your recordings don't sound good anywhere else.... and that kind of sucks... from that shopping list, it sounds like you're being pretty serious about your sound... i'd get some studio monitors... even the behringer ones if you want to try and conserve a little cash... they are surprisingly decent (i use them...) of course there are much better (AKA much more expensive)
  11. i use mine primarily in a studio setting with studio monitors... although i do use an amp too... it depends on your needs really, but studio monitors are a great path if your main focus is recording.
  12. this type of warble can be due to the pickups being too close to the strings... the magnets can cause vibrations... if you have this issue try backing your pickups down some.... in any case... not looking for an argument... just wanted to throw that information out there... i for one don't have this issue... making it impossible for me to believe that it's an inherent variax problem... maybe you do have the issue, and maybe you like your pickups where they are... and maybe that's something you'd have to deal with or maybe the variax isn't for you... as i said.. not looking to argue and i know these types of threads would easily go into some sort of attack/defend thing... so do what you want with this info...
  13. the primary difference between the combo and power stack output mode is simply their intended use... they don't always fit within the combo/stack designation either... best way to think of it i: combo=open back cabinet stack=closed back cabinet that is their basic intended purposes... and the real reason to pick one over the other... although as usual... go with your personal taste regardless of the intentions...
  14. holy crap that's the worst advice i've ever read. especially when someone HAS to do through the guitar input without an effects loop. i'd recommend start with an empty tone... add a single amp... then try changing output modes, and pick the one you like.... (sure experiment with pre-amps/cabs etc...) i'd personally say that studio/direct will likely sound the absolute worst direct to the guitar input... but as you can see others disagree... and who knows... maybe this would please your ears... don't mess with the presets or downloaded tones until you can get a handle on a single amp... if you can make a single amp work, then there's hope... if not we can assume that these things just aren't going to play nice...
  15. i don't believe so since you can only assign the effects to one FS, but why not just copy the preset to another location and save in the state you want it in? then it's just one FS.
  16. you have to have pod farm 2.5+ first off, because logic pro x will only work with 64 bit plugins and earlier versions are only 32 bit. outside of that it's just like any other plugin.
  17. From the support manager: Because of the number of times we’ve seen units become inoperable because of a break in the data stream during the installation of the Vetta firmware, we feel it is best to remove the update from our website. Any circumstances that require the firmware to be reinstalled should be referred to our support staff via support ticket or phone call. Our team can be contacted at www.Line6.com/support.
  18. the original spiders required a different controller called simply "floorboard" the newer FBV's will not work.
  19. I know that the reason rack is part of the license when you buy a line6 device, and i can only assume that it comes as part of a paid pod farm license (2.5+). there's most certainly no trial version of that license since the trial is pod farm software specific.... you do have 30 days in which to return a license for a full refund, i'd just give it a try...
  20. pretty sure that's what he was referring too... and he was essentially agreeing with what you say here.
  21. not sure how long you've waited but it can take 3 business days to hear back from support.... that and if you call it needs to be between 9-6 PACIFIC time monday through friday (USA) http://line6.com/company/contact/ there's plenty of info on the forums that you can work through in the meantime if you'd like. alot of which are in this thread.... you didn't provide any further details that would allow anyone to offer you any further advice really....
  22. 100% positive that there will be no amp or effects models exclusive to the x models. rest easy.
  23. 350$ is a great price! those were 1699$ new.
  24. I don't think it's "done" i just think that substantial enhancements are unlikely... although its all speculation... i think model packs are more likely than free upgrades at this point.... but its only an opinion... would be very happy to be just plain wrong.
  25. dont know enough internally to advise you about a technical fix... but you might try picking up something like this as a workaround: http://www.amazon.com/ART-Tube-Studio-Mic-Preamp/dp/B0002E50MC it will also do phantom power so maybe that will benefit as well? if you'd rather just get what you have working, try an authorized service center, i suspect it will be more than simply getting a used replacement... or at least close enough to the cost of a used one to not be worth it in my mind.
