  1. It's funny how you say let's not delude. Then proceed to speak for "most people" personally I have no issues with the cabs. With so many wats to sculpt a tone on the pod hds it's a real shame to get hung up on one detail.
  2. should be accessible with the FBV shortboard as well.
  3. contact line6 during normal business hours by phone (9-5 m/f pacific time) or open a support ticket from the same link and they should respond within 3 business days.

Although there is a certain degree of logic in your assumption... midi is digital information, and what you are wanting to record is audio information. your thinking is fine... but they aren't the same.
  5. the pod HD's clearly focus on tube amps.... and the JC120 has been requested since it's release about 4 years ago.... i'm 100% positive they are aware of the demand for the model and it hasn't happened yet... I would assume that it's not a high priority and may never happen. but head to their idealscale site and request it: http://line6.ideascale.com that's the way to be heard.
  6. connect via usb run monkey get driver: http://line6.com/software/ you can get the drivers seperately from the link above.... i don't believe that the model packs or licensing will authorize over midi... i've not used an XT over midi in 10 years so i could be wrong.
  7. i literally just plugged it in and it worked... have you ended all the open programs on your phone and hard booted (hold power til it shuts off) and of course make sure the phone is up to date.... those are things i would do... but i didnt have to do any of it... just giving you some ideas.
  8. Line6 doesn't answer the forums... if you didn't call or open a support ticket... line6 is unaware that you even asked a question.... they are surely knowledgeable enough... when you ask them.... in the forum you are asking other users...
  9. many things i try before rolling off low end... different cabs/mics etc (cab DEP's) but yeah... for the most part the volume you're playing at can make a world of difference too....
  10. No, those effects were exclusive to a firmware update to the X3 (2.0) and were not part of pod farm or any model packs. you can request there addition here: http://line6.ideascale.com/ it's likely possible to do, but certainly would have already been done if there was a plan in place (the firmware was released in 2010) so your answer is no... no plan (i think that's a fair assumption at this point) I do think it's unlikely that this will happen... but asking on ideascale would be step one... could be a potential new model pack for them to sell so they should consider doing it. (free for platinum owners of course...) POD X3 Live Flash Memory v2.0 RELEASE NOTES: [if you are a POD X3 Live owner, please download and install the latest version of Line 6 Monkey software and use it to update your POD X3 Live to this latest version of Flash Memory. For best results, calibrate pedal after update] POD X3 Live v2.0 is a FREE update to all POD X3 Live customers. It includes 12 additional FX inspired by the sounds of sought-after stompboxes and rack gear! What does it include? Vocoder: Our 14 band Vocoder is based on the classic rack units employed by recording studios and modular synths since the early '70s. Use the decay knob to slow down the Vocoder’s responsiveness to create some haunting drones. Dynamic Delay: Made popular by the T.C. Electronic® 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay. While you play, the Dynamic Delay keeps the volume of the echoes turned down, so that the echoes don’t overwhelm what you’re doing. Dimension: Based on* the Roland® Dimension D. One of the first true stereo chorus units. Relatively subtle in its nature, it became an industry standard for double-track effects. Pitch Vibrato: Based on* the Boss® VB-2. It contained a circuit that produced bubbly vibrato, but was popular for its “rise time†control that when engaged, sped up to where you last set it. Voice Box: Inspired by* Vocoders, Vocal Tracts & Surgical Tubing. This model gives your guitar a sound that’s typical of a classic “talk box.†V-Tron: Voice Box meets Mu-Tron® III. In this model your guitar again “speaks†with an almost human voice, but now it does so in response to your playing. Octisynth: Inspired by eight armed denizens of the deep. Everyone knows that all you need is a bottleneck and a reverb tank to get whale sounds, but how about our friend the Octopus? Q Filter: Your very own parked wah! You’ve heard it before from Mark Knopfler and from Brian May of Queen—it’s a wah “parked†in one position. Pattern Tremolo: Inspired by* Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper. This effect is what you’d get if you could hook up a vintage keyboard sequencer to a tremolo. Frequency Shifter: A ring modulator gives you both up and down shifted frequencies. Here you can select just the up or down shifted frequencies. Barberpole Phaser: A classic effect from the world of modular synths. This phaser either sounds like it’s always going up or always down depending on how you set it. Set to stereo you get both! Script Phaser: Based on* MXR® Phase 90. Just like the original our model only features a Speed control * All product names used in this webpage are trademarks of their respective owners, which are in no way associated or affiliated with Line 6. 11. moved topic to x3 section. the trim pot is real sensitive... in my experience the first 90% of the adjustment is not useful.. and adjusting within that last 10% is sometimes difficult.... your mic may factor in as well.... the x3 and x3 live do not have phantom power.

midi support has nothing to do with audio or the type of recording you mention... I think you either mis-typed that or misunderstand what midi is.
  13. You might try replacing the cable. I've used the SPDIF out successfully with no such issues many times. The majority of which were on a mac, and i was also interfacing with a tascam us1800 one other thing to check might be the project properties in your DAW. for example, the default sample rate is 44.1 on logic pro, and i can sync up and use my interface at a different sample rate all day long.... as soon as i open logic pro, 44.1 is forced and sync breaks... only fix is to close logic pro and re-sync at 44.1, or start a new project and change the sample rate beforehand.
  14. the tuner clears all internal memory on the m13/pods it will not do what you want it to. there is unlikely to be any further updates to the M-series pedals... sorry.
  15. you probably need to check if the looper is set at pre or post... world of difference.
  16. mine worked too... just plugged it in.... no magic here... sorry i don't have any more helpful info for you.... just confirming that it SHOULD be working.
  17. kind of interesting to see these guys jumping in.... http://www.marketwatch.com/story/monoprice-showcases-its-new-pro-audio-series-products-at-summer-namm-2014-07-15 looking forward to their electronic drum gear... be nice to have some real alternatives to Rolands v-cymbals....
  18. Correct. The jm4 pedal is pretty much a spider jam with no amp. If you wanted to bring your own amp. However it's the same generation as the spider jam and is also unlikely to get updates.
  19. Further updates to the Spider Jam are highly unlikely. The Spider Jam is a Spider III generation amp, that was replaced by the Spider IV amps, and now the new Amplifi amps.
  20. also... did you pay for pod farm 2? you may only have a pod farm 1 license.
  21. i suggest you call line6 support: http://line6.com/company/contact/ many of the forum users use the FBV pedals with hardware and not computer applications.
  22. just my own observation here.... but i think you'd sell more of the 500 ones than you would the 500x. the 500 has been out longer, sold a greater number of years, and was greeted with a bit more enthusiasm.
  23. i think it looks great! a little pricey... but thats based on the 24 label price you had listed... probably only need 8 for the pods... good luck in your venture.
  24. there is no official edit program... brazzy linked you to an unofficial and unsupported editor... that works great.
