POD Farm 2 with POD Studio UX1 not working
TheRealZap replied to Atomant669's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
does pod farm 1 work? perhaps you have no pod farm 2 license (isn't always a free upgrade.) -
I use mine frequently, Pod HD Pro X, i use the phantom power for my condensors. never use the vocoder feature, i have also used it for mic'ing acoustics, primarily when it was my main interface for recording. much of that has been offloaded to the UAD Apollo twin now, but i still use the pod for the mic tone's i have setup and go into the Apollo from there. on the previous generation of pods (x3 live specifically) i was more apt to use the guitar and mic at the same time because of the simplicity in completely separate paths, rather than building a single tone around the feat. so if this is for future dev... think "sub-tone" perhaps a rider 2nd tone with access to less DSP for vocal/mic app... obviously defeatable so that those not using it can have all the DSP... and those using it can steal DSP access for their "sub tone" (or co-tone, or whatever term you choose.. "sub" can imply low end or bass use i guess....)

perhaps your interface has some limitations or settings that it's looking for. I've used the SPDIF on mine without issue. I actually used it to transfer the dry sound (for future processing), and also captured the wet via analog. so that i would have both... anyway there are some spdif setting in the pod that you can change regarding sample rate etc... try cycling through those, maybe you'll find one that syncs up and works... not familiar enough with your interface to be more specific.

Toneport and VirtualBox
TheRealZap replied to Postie's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
it may or may not be possible... it is 100% not supported... i have seen posts with other users doing a similar setup to get updates etc... but can't recall any of them attempting to use their device realtime in this manner.- 2 replies

Jtv Not Recognized With The Workbench Hd
TheRealZap replied to arislaf's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
just plug the VDI connection to the VDI interface... AND 1/4" plug into the variax... the other end of that 1/4" plug doesn't need to be plugged into anything (but can be) just like a guitar with active pickups... the battery is not in use when the cable is unplugged... and the VDI interface does not power the variax.... so all you are doing is enabling the battery.... although plugging into an amp is a good idea as well to audition your changes... but not necessary. -
USB 2 ports are not "less powerful" especially if you're plugging in a device that utilizes the USB 2 standard, the USB 3 standard allows for higher speeds etc... but only when using a USB 3 device... it ultimately should not matter because USB 3 should be backwards compatible... however, the newer standard has less mature drivers and does not always do backwards compatible suitably for all devices. I have the HD pro x myself, and your experience is not typical. I've used it on a few different machines both windows and mac without issue. have you tried a different USB cable? (yes you say you tried everything on the forums... but no... i can't define what you call everything so i'm asking repetitive questions....) that's one factor that would likely move between machines, taking the problem with it. however unlikely, a genuine hardware issue is also possible, so replacement was also a good path forward. (a new unit would be a much quicker way to check...) Line6 experts are not Line6 employees... so it's not it's not a matter of whether or not you recommend any products.... this is a user forum, and we're trying to be helpful... that is all... not trying to sell to your students. the pod is worth the effort in the end, we're just trying to help you get there.

Reason Limited Registration
TheRealZap replied to Djentveil's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
you have a license to use line6 tones within record... it does not mean a license for record.. (which doesnt exist anymore anyway.... its now all within reason itself) -
first blue lights and know it buzzes...
TheRealZap replied to actdmusic's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
ok we get it... you had a bad experience.... this is a community of people trying to use, learn, and enjoy their equipment. -
there is no plan, and this is incredibly unlikely to happen... you can request it here: http://line6.ideascale.com/ but more likely to be in a future product and not the current stuff.
-
cool, just trying to help get the word out to the Vetta owners. would be great to hear how this got resolved.
-
i personally like to record it a little on the low side... leaves room for dynamics as well as headroom for the plugins and processing i'm likely to do during any mixing... but yeah... quality is important... can't fix low quality... low volume is easy enough though.

the problem with using the pod as an interface is likely a problem with other drivers on your machine, or perhaps even your usb port itself. USB 3 ports can be finicky.... often times having a crazy powerful newer machine, means you have performance drivers that aren't very mature... this affects the stability of the drivers.... also sometimes other USB devices can distract from the audio stream... as well as power management or other operating system related settings. make sure you also have the firmware of the POD updated to the latest as well.
-
well you do have to create a patch with the input set to mic at the very least... just use one of the empty patches if that's what you want... there are some mic related tones already in the pod on a voc/aco/bass setlist (or similar named) assuming you have the latest firmware.

from the support manager: the number of times we’ve seen units become inoperable because of a break in the data stream during the installation of the Vetta firmware, we feel it is best to remove the update from our website. Any circumstances that require the firmware to be reinstalled should be referred to our support staff via support ticket or phone call. Our team can be contacted at www.Line6.com/support.
-
you'll need to call, per my previous post. the update is only available through support directly.

not being condescending... i even give you credit for being smart enough to understand... those smarts that i know you possess, simply do not fit with the argument you're trying to make... fair enough that you have an opinion on the matter... but it's being expressed in an argumentative way... which is common when someone wants their opinion to be adopted as the correct one... i certainly do that myself... as probably anyone does.... i'm sure that many internal L6 guys have the same arguments... and someone has to win... usually someone who's paid more than the entire GDP of a small country.... and that person decides the path forward.... and that's the path the company goes.... you and I, we can debate it... but we can never win the argument one way or the other.

POD HD500x output into m9 input - will it clip? and MIDI
TheRealZap replied to scias23's topic in POD HD
wrong... the delays and reverbs trails will remain as long as you enable the trails in the pod menu... that's what its for... that setting basically keeps the "out" of the loop/pedal and cuts off the "in" so that nothing else feeds into the pedal and the remaining trails play... the loop is also stereo... the trails setting does not work with the built in effects... which is probably where you're getting confused. -
how about if amplifi flops... and L6 lost tons of money and had to close up shop... would a bankrupt L6 serve you any? seriously.... you're being incredibly short sighted... you're surely smart enough to understand... besides... amplifi is not for you... easy enough to understand... so why would you argue about it like there is some sort of prize for having the best argument?
-
what do you want? no major issues.... so no major updates likely... always possible.. but always unlikely.... specifically the 300/400 are discontinued so HIGHLY unlikely for those.

good plan, the XT uses the same power supply... just hope the price doesnt go up if it works! :D might find an XT being the cheap one then :D -
service center: http://line6.com/find/service_center/ more than likely a physical or electrical issue.

Thinkng of buying a Line 6 POD X3 (a defective X3 to be exact...)
TheRealZap replied to alex_paoloa's topic in POD X3
i'd say more than likely just a bad power supply.... (although the power switches could also be an issue) he knows its broke and he's upfront about it... so hopefully it's super cheap! be aware though that the power supply isn't typical DC universal... the power supply supplies AC power... it's called a line6 PX2
