POD HD500x output into m9 input - will it clip? and MIDI
TheRealZap replied to scias23's topic in POD HD
the m9 will recall the preset that was selected when you save the tone on the pod.... but i'm with the other user... WHY? if you need more DSP that's one thing... but its still better utilized in the fx loop of the pod. -
i'm sure this is the first they've heard of this.... REALLY? i'm sure they've looked into this and any other possible system... i think PC and MAC would probably even outpace your precious android. they are likely working on it.... but it's not ready.... if it ever will be... until then... moving forward with something that works for you is the right thing for you to do... no reason to be angry about it...

it's right here: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=5396 went right to it via the downloads link at the upper right... once you get to the noted the "get download" link is in the lower right of those notes... blends with the color scheme a little...

Downloading Software
TheRealZap replied to SergioIIIIX's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
uninstall everything you have so far... go here: http://line6.com/software/ get the drivers standalone package FIRST.... (install, maybe reboot, change usb ports for good measure) then go back, get monkey.. if monkey can see the UX8, then get pod farm, gearbox, etc... then go to the license manager and authorize the UX8 (you will need to login to your L6 account) thats what i would try. -
Accessing the boost function of the DT amp via PodHd500x?
TheRealZap replied to coosvandorsten's topic in DT50 / DT25
the "boost" function is an internal amp parameter in the DT50, that boosts the signal from the preamp to the poweramp... has nothing to do with a typical boost that you would engage or disengage while performing.... not saying it can't be done... but it's not what you think, won't give you the results you want, and shouldn't be done.... the only exception is if you're trying to build a standalone DT amp using the various parts and pieces with the DT 2.0 software.... besides... everytime you select an amp in the pod the boost will revert to it's authentically modeled correct state for that setup. seriously... if you want a "boost" while performing... look elsewhere. (you only have like 1000 other options built into the pod) -
That app is pretty awesome... i use it too for offline tuning... my daw has a tuner i use for a quick fix (logic pro x)

the ux8 came with platinum, are you using pod farm 1.x (not all of them have a 2.x upgrade) obviously the UX8 needs plugged in... run monkey get latest drivers etc... then run license manager and authorize the UX8. -
How do I POD X3 skipping problem during recording?
TheRealZap replied to Parker12345's topic in POD X3
is it an x3 live? many of those have a hardware issue that can only be fixed by a service center. -
i'm exactly the opposite... i think the pickguard lines and ring are aesthetically more pleasing to me... in fact since i use the models mostly as well, that SSS pickguard is the primary reason i just don't like them. i do rather like the buckers in the 59 though....so i imagine i'd also like them in the 69.

Used Toneport Ux2 - Licence For Pod Farm 2
TheRealZap replied to Andriax's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Does not matter... any toneport (redface) UX2 did not come with pod farm 2 license... only pod studio UX2's the original owner could gift his pod farm 2 license to you... BUT only if he purchased it separately... more than likely you need to use pod farm 1.x or pay for the upgraded license. -

IMO, you're being totally reasonable.... and i think it's awesome that you gave the option to the community here. I love the gold, but hate the SSS... i've not bonded with my 59 (black) as much as i'd have liked personally and i've considered picking up a 69 myself. surely there are others out there with similar experiences that like the SSS option... hopefully they chime in before you move forward.

why couldn't it be a matter of apple identifying it's software with 2 digits beyond the decimal point... the apple OS is in beta... why cant they fix their sh*t... why you got to put it all on software that totally works and has not been altered in the least.... i'm sure sooner or later it would be fixed... but apple is running an open beta... so why not get them to address it.... probably fix 100's of other software packages as well....

it can be made to work very easily... will just take effort... there's even the possibility of a virtual machine using windows xp... i had the original variax and i made a few changes... after the initial playtime wore off there wasnt alot of use for workbench.... plenty of options without it really... and once you set it up to your liking its something that many people would rarely use... i use parralells with my mac... but you can also use bootcamp... take the closed mac system out of the equation and it's likely a really simple deal to install workbench (it will install a working version of java) in the end though... it is what it is... if you ultimately dont want technology in your guitar... then the variax isn't for you.... if you value the features enough... then it's worth the effort.
-
they stopped producing the older variaxes long ago... and stopped updating the older variaxes as well... the java language is independent of the operating system... shouldn't be any need to further update the software... apple however is a closed OS, and they make changes sometimes that can interfere with Java in the name of security... breaking older programs... often times they can be fixed by someone that knows how to do some terminal commands etc... but your error said you have some version of 1.6 java and the latest is some version of 1.7 so i'd start there. i don't work for line6... but every manufacturer stops supporting their older products at some point... the original variax guitars were released over a decade ago... the final firmware update was released in 2006... the final variax workbench was released in 2012 looks to me like they supported it pretty well over the years... only thing that has changed is your operating system and java.... i'm not sure how you can come to any other conclusion other than those changes.... well.... they changed things.... in this case from working to not working.

you mean treeing up the wrong bark... if i say it different i might get a different answer... pretty sure i saw a study on that once...

dont use word, past into microsoft paint and save as an image type rather than a document.

they have been busy as of late making tutorial videos to help users utilize their gear and make tones etc... with all the media being thrust upon me everyday, i personally would never listen to such a station by Line6 or any other manufacturer... but go ahead here and suggest it: http://line6.ideascale.com/ as that's where Line6 views user suggestions.

Workbench is no longer being updated... besides your problem is somewhere between mavericks and java and has nothing to do with Line6 other than that's where you see the symptoms of the problem. perhaps try at least getting the latest version of java... other than that... i'm not a mavericks or java expert although i'm familiar with both.

Variax 300 And Workbench - Any Success?
TheRealZap replied to lricach's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
yes, it runs on java so the operating system isn't that big of a factor. -
generally 3 business days for them to get back to you.... if its more urgent you need to call.. M-F 9-5 PACIFIC time http://line6.com/company/contact/

your speakers may have an aux or cd/mp3 in you could use... (not familiar with them specifically) but when it comes to balancing a backing track i either do so by adding the track into my recording software and using the mixer there... or adjusting (lowering) the volume on the playback software (itunes, quicktime, windows media player, MPC, videolan, etc)

ASIO does not work that way... unfortunately you need different speakers... ASIO requires that the same hardware be used for the input and the output.... even if you managed to make it work as you wish... the quality would be compromised as the timing of your output and inputs would not be controlled by a single internal clock... ASIO is required for pod farm. ASIO4ALL attempts to bypass that requirement and control things with a fake software clock... in other words... ASIO4ALL is not really ASIO at all.
