  1. no... you have to use an SD card to update the jam... and the jam is based on spider III models.
  2. most likely you are using pod farm 2.x, which you most likely do not have a license for (not always a free upgrade) try pod farm 1.x it should have considerably more models unlocked.
  3. just wanted to point out this video as a reference: http://line6.com/support/topic/2074-v2-hd-comparison-video/
  4. Not really... you need to call or open a support ticket if you want to talk with them. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  5. No... only stream bluetooth music/audio it doesn't claim anything else.
  6. thats completely factual... you can stream from an android device.... however at this time there is no app to control the amplifi with an android... but you can pair up a bluetooth android and stream music to it all day.
  7. it doesn't have to be a phone... you can use an ipad, or even ipod touch... (as long as it can use iOS 7) but yes... that's the nature of the amp... sorry.
  8. I don't believe that the spider valve models had the capability of being edited by software. according to the FAQ only spider IV models: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-ivspider-online/spider-iv-edit-v102-faq-r271
  9. the new one will probably come with the same licenses as your old one.... (unless you are switching from a redface or blackface version....) any licenses you purchased separately will of course be available for the new one.
  10. I corrected the title, from JVT guitars to JTV (James Tyler Variax) I did not edit the original post.
  11. calm down. first of all there is more than 1 xlr output input on each device.... second of all you should be using an AES/EBU cable for best results... (looks the same as an xlr, same connectors etc better cabling for handling digital) make sure you are going from L6LINK out to L6LINK in. restart amp and pod for good measure... (not entirely needed... just may help sync issues) just to get you going put all the channel A settings to noon.... (adjust to taste after you get sound) i'd probably suggest that the master be closer to 9 oclock (about 1/4 of the way up) also try pulling the master knob out (engages low volume mode) if for some reason you still get no sound... try other presets... still not working... make sure that the amp and the pod are flashed to the latest update and try again... other things you can try etc... but don't forget you have line6 support you can call or open a support ticket to walk you through things. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  12. i don't believe it's custom as in FRFR or anything like that... it's even paired with a V30 in the 2x12 i'm quite positive that it's an electric guitar voiced speaker that does what the line6 guys intended it to do.
  13. not really... i kind of cheat and use a boss rc300... mostly because i want a more robust looper.. but it also has some rythym stuff in it.
  14. yes, it's true.. won't do any SDHD etc... must be a standard 2GB (or lower) SD card.
  15. no the supported external expression pedals do not have a footswitch on them.
  16. basically do whichever sounds best to you.. but i would use the cabs, because it's a tonal option.... and helps with the authenticity of the desired amp model. not much proprietary about the line6 branded cab... and it's a guitar voiced speaker itself....
  17. the difference is rather you want the modeled amp included in your signal or not...
  18. won't show songs in the cloud... only songs you download.
  19. no, any board that does not have FBV in the model name... will NOT work.
  20. yes... BUT... midi was never able to read the ESN.. connected via midi the ESN is always 0's
  21. heck no! i love the wide range tele and that's all new to v2 :) i did swap the pickups on the 335 model for the less paul pickups, so i guess i wasn't 100% happy... but the new workbench made that more pleasant than the previous version. much like Phil, I was also in on the beta, and felt the dynamics and response was just way improved. as well as the differences from 1 model to the next... some very similar sounding models in the older firmware.
  22. the fact that you had issues flashing successfully, likely indicates an issue... i think it may be an issue with your computer preventing the successful transmission of the flash... i would try a completely virgin system, install line6 stuff from nothing and try again. obviously you probably won't want to etc... given your experience here... but based on what you're saying i think it would be a worthwhile endeavor. and expecting the update to sound " richer, fuller, more Quack (ier)" is a subjective interpretation... you basically want it to sound more to your liking... when the objective here is more accurate to the modeled guitars... (whether you like it or not.) the solution is quite simple.... and stated many times... if you like 1.9 stay there. i'm not saying that to be mean or offensive in the least... it's very honestly a decision for you to make for yourself.
  23. In the past we were told that this is unlikely.... as near as anyone knows nothing has changed.
  24. and of course... it uses the newer HD modeling...
  25. look up the ietab extension for those things you need IE for... runs IE in the firefox browers... makes the experience a little more uniform... i use multiple browsers for multiple IT testing things... but stick with chrome and the IEtab for most of my non testing web activity.
