  1. You need a pod farm 2.x license to do so... so it depends on how long ago you bought it.... doesn't sounds like it from your description.... you can do what you want if you pay for the pod farm 2.x license you will still have your model packs and plugins. but without pod farm 2.x, it will only work with the original line6 hardware.
  2. have you tried holding down the left key while powering on? usually happens if you download a bad tone.
  3. I've never heard that... highly doubt it.... but can't say with certainty.
  4. it's highly unlikely that they re-did the modeling. i'm pretty certain that they would move forward with new models being HD or whatevers next... long before they go back and remodel these.
  5. I don't think that would be accurate. the model quality does not scale in that sense. much like an mp3, if the file is encoded at 128k that's what it will use to play regardless of the player. the models where built at a certain quality and that's that..... digitech was probably able to model their istomps at a higher quality level because of their intended use. if it was just a matter of running them on better hardware... all these models would be in the pod HD's or pod X4 as it would more aptly be called.
  6. pod farm got their models from the x-series. the x3 has all the pod farm and all the model pack models in it. the pod x3 has the same models as pod farm. even if they tell you that magical blue leprechauns came from an obscure village just south of gargamels castle and made special fairy dust models for the amplifi units... the models are still based on the ones DOCUMENTED here.... the documentation does not affect the sound. in other words... if you want to know what the models in your amp are based on... it's in the PDF.
  7. few tiny drops of super glue... its been done a few times by other forum users... not a huge issue.. but it does happen.
  8. i love super high quality sound i really do... i can tell the difference. but to me the convenience of digital over vinyl wins.. that's why i'll never be a hipster vinyl junkie. if PONO can bridge that gap its a full win... but they'll need to do so at a more competitive pricing... I also will not shell out for the same music every technological advance... just saying...
  9. i did find a more current and complete listing here: English.pdf
  10. the toneport has zero amp models. toneports get amp models from either gearbox (OLD) or pod farm (CURRENT) the list may not have been updated anytime recently... but the info applies model to model for the amplifi as well... 100% positive. it basically just tells you what was modeled etc... if they tweaked it or whatever for amplifi... its still based on the same information.
  11. all the info/details are essentially here: http://line6.com/support/knowledgebase/toneporthelp/help/model.html
  12. the asterisk just means something has changed... best to ignore for the most part... its just a reminder to save it if you like it... of course doing so eliminated the way back...
  13. yes, a user provided forum dedicated to this, pinned to the top of the JTV/Variax forums.
  14. just download it: http://line6.com/software/ install it, then log into the license manager and authorize the machine. this is of course assuming you actually BOUGHT a pod farm 2.x license... this WILL NOT work if the license you have was included with your toneport/pod studio device. licenses included with those devices BELONG to those devices and not your user account, and cannot be shared. you can still download and install it on as many computers as you want... but the pod studio/toneport will need to be plugged into the machine in order to authorize the license.
  15. you get version 1 standard for free with the toneport. depending on which toneport you have you may have a different license for example.... redface toneports can only use pod farm standalone and blackface ones can use both the standalone and plugin version (blackface versions are called "pod studios") a number of reasons that the 2.5x upgrade might be worth it. 64 bit plugins midi capability - can automate or use foot controllers. "elements" use - you can use just a portion of pod farm rather than a full instance hardware independence - you can use your pod farm with other interfaces and without the toneport attached multiple instances - pod farm 2.5x can be licensed and used on up to 4 devices at a time
  16. check the control panel there should be a line6 audio/midi control panel. you can define what the meters do here. they may be set to monitor a different input or something.
  17. just pod farm and the collectors classic pack would do it. you might look at the bundles they offer, they often have triple pack offers that can be a good value... assuming any of the other models appeal to you.
  18. just buy the one from the site (NO ILOK VERSION) and you'll be fine. The ilok version requires additional hardware and will not use model packs.
  19. I'm not aware of the specifics when it comes to stagesource integration, but update and try it... nothing to lose.
  20. maybe your license is tied to the hardware in your version of pro tools? just a thought...
  21. Line6 SUPPORT does not actively monitor the forums. the line6 product specialists are new here, and they are not intended to provide support, nor do they have particular knowledge of what line6 is working on etc. they work with the retail outlets and in store customers providing product knowledge helpful to potential customers. which is exactly what he was doing here. i welcome their participation. i also appreciate sarcasm, thanks for clearing that up... hard to gauge sometimes in black and white text. at this point the product specialists are on the forums voluntarily and i hope that the community in general, makes them feel welcome so that we can all enjoy their continued participation. they will hopefully learn as much from us as we will from them.
  22. typically this is due to a downloaded tone that was done on a different version of the firmware... or perhaps even a user created tone that doesn't translate well between firmware updates. but that may not be the only reason it happens... just what appears to be the typical reason.
  23. i've done the update with the 5$ ebay interface... but the m-audio uno is farm more reliable. they run about 40$ the 5$ interface thing is finicky... sometimes it depends on your computer and the phase of the moon. :D
  24. the redface toneports did not come with a plugin license. it sounds like somewhere along the way you updated the toneport back to default and removed the previous owners paid license. if pod farm 1 standard works standalone... then it's working correctly.
  25. there are some L6LINK updates in the DT update that may affect dream rig use as well as some of the amp defaults have been corrected. it's worth doing if you have the midi cables anyway.
