  1. Hold down all three footswitches while powering up. That will do a factory reset. The factory presets should show up then.
  2. I actually don't think a VDI port ever considered. Originally, the Stomp was conceived as an even smaller device. I saw the very first prototype rendering saw back in 2016 and it had two buttons and was about the size as one of the two-button Strymon pedals. It was tiny. They made it wider because they couldn't actually fit all the electronics in that form factor. As it now, everything is crammed in there.
  3. No, the reserved CC messages on Page 49 are the messages you want to program into your controller and send to control those specific functions. To select snapshot #1, for instance, you always send CC69, value 0. That will be the same no matter what preset you have the Stomp set to. If you want to have a preset on the Morningstar be the looper controls, you could do that. From what I understand, the Morningstar lets you program the six switches in every preset with pretty much anything you want. The question really becomes how often you want to change presets on the Morningstar.
  4. HX Edit will work as the editor for the Stomp as soon as the 2.70 update is released. It should be out any day now. Right now, though, it's editing on the pedal itself only.
  5. It's not... The first shipment of Stomps sold out pretty much everywhere the first day they were on the market. Retailers have said that interest in the Stomp is off the charts right now in the sense that more people are calling and asking about than any other product. The number of Variax users is a tiny sliver of the guitar market.
  6. You have to assign the parameters you want to recall with snapshots to a snapshot controller (parameters assigned to real-time controllers such as expression pedals or footswitches can have values recalled per snapshot as well). To do it on the unit, simply press and turn the knob under the parameter, and you'll see brackets appear around the parameter. After you see the brackets, you can go into each snapshot and set the value to whatever you want it. That value will be recalled when you load that snapshot (you'll need to save the snapshot/preset if you have the Snapshot Edits parameter set to "Discard" in the Global Settings menu). In HX Edit, you can select the Snapshots controller by right clicking on the parameter value and selecting it from the menu that appears.
  7. Yeah, that won't work... If you have OUT A and OUT B active in a scene, both will be sending the same signal at the same time. I guess I don't see what advantage this would give you, in any case.
  8. Why would anyone want to buy a broken one from you? Open up a ticket, and Line 6 will replace it again...
  9. Well, fundamentally the Dunlop pedal is a TRS expression pedal and Line 6 gear is made for TS expression pedals. That's not to say you can't use it, but the first thing to do is use a TS cable. I believe there is a polarity switch inside that pedal (is the Dunlop DVP4?). I've read that flipping that and changing the polarity seeing the Stomp's Global Settings menu for the EXP you're using may do the trick for this pedal.
  10. There's no HX Edit support for the Stomp yet. It will be available with the soon-to-be-released 2.70 update.
  11. If you want to have access to more buttons and expression pedals, you might want to look at the Disaster Area Designs DMC Micro: You could program the two switches to do a number of things. If you wanted one to toggle between Stomp and Snapshot you could. Or you could program them to be Page < and > switches. It can also send MIDI clock. Additionally, you can plug and expression pedal into its expression input and emulate EXP1 on the Stomp. That would free up the Stomps EXP/FS switch to do other stuff.
  12. I don't see why you couldn't use wahs, ODs, etc in front of the HXFX's FX loop block in this scenario. You don't even have to use the stereo version, but you could if you want. Do you have the FX Loop block in your HXFX presets?

Catch up with whom? Zoom? I don't think they're too concerned with Zoom at this point. Fractal has fewer bass amps, cabs and effects than the Helix at this point, and not many other companies are making bass multi-FX. I think it's an inherently limited market, really. I've only played with a few bass players who use any effects at all, and those that do usually use a few pedals. I knew one guys who used an old Boss GT-6B... There is another dedicated bass effect that you forgot - the Clawthorne Drive. I think, though, you need to be a little open-minded about using the other effects for bass. One thing that bass players typically want is a parallel dry path, and the nice thing with the Helix is you can add that easily to any effect. Also, the "mix" knob on effects that have it is essentially a blend control. It's a wet/dry balance with 100% dry/100% wet being at 50 (0 is 100% dry, 0% wet; 100 is 0% dry, 100% wet). As far recording, I've been using Native to re-amp all bass tracks recently. It works great, imo.
  14. Do you have the amp hooked via the 4 cable method? What you're describing is what happens if you have the 4CM connections but don't have the FX Loop block in the HXFX's signal chain. When that happens, you're bypassing your amp's preamp and just taking taking the signal from the HXFX's output into your amp's effects return.
  15. I don't understand what you're saying the problem is. The reply above is worth noting. Not having the FX Loop block in your signal chain is the thing that most people seem to miss when setting up the 4CM with the HX FX.
  16. You can assign FS4 and FS5 to function like the Page < and > buttons so you can scroll through the different footswitch modes in Performance View.
  17. The new firmware and HX Edit should be out any day now. I'd hardly say the Stomp is unusable without the editor, though. I mean, I've had access to Stomp and HX Edit via the beta for the last few months, and I still edit on the unit more often than not. It's not difficult at all if you take a few minutes to get the hang of it. Renaming things is the main time saver with the editor, imo.
  18. I'd try doing a factory reset. Hold down all three footswitches while powering up, and that will do a full reset.
  19. You can only pair one transmitter with one receiver at a time. You could use multiple transmitters in the sense that you could use one as a backup. But you would need to go through the pairing procedure to use the backup (plug transmitter in the base for 15 seconds so it can find the best channel). All that said, the G10 is still great to use with multiple instruments because you can hot-swap it. You can just pull it out of the first guitar and plug it in the second without having to worry about muting anything. The G10 will mute itself as soon as you unplug it.
  20. You need to download and install the newest version of HX Edit.
  21. What expression pedal are you using? If you're using it with a keyboard, it sounds like you're using a TRS pedal. Line 6 expression pedals are wired differently than standard pedals and use a TS connection.
  22. No, bypassed blocks don’t affect your signal. This post is talking about how the HX Effects and HX Stomp are set to analog bypass versus DSP bypass.
  23. Which unit are you talking about? The three Helix models don't offer true byass at all, but on the HX Effects and Stomp, the main reason is that it's possible to have all the blocks bypassed and still have other things likes splits and merges going inside the unit. So it might be possible to have it behave that way, but from what I understand it wouldn't necessarily be simple from the programming side.
