Rolling back to an earlier firmware is horrendous at all... You do it exactly like you install the new firmware. You may have to actually download the flash file and use update in offline mode, but that's a big deal at all. Between the Helix, the HX Effects and the HX Stomp, I've probably installed firmware updates nearly a hundred times or more. It's really quite painless.

Yes, the newer versions of HX Edit will work with older versions of firmware (starting with FW 2.20). Honestly, though, I still think you'd be best updating everything, but it's up to you, of course.

Yes, and I should mention that the mix parameter is different in the Helix. Having the mix knob at 7.8 on the DL4 (which, I have to say, you're pretty good if you can translate a position on a rotary knob down to a tenth :-) ) would be equivalent to having the mix at 39 or so on the Helix. The mix knob on the DL4 goes from 100% dry to 100% wet, sort of like the reverb knob on an amp. The mix knob on the Helix controls the balance between the wet and dry signals, with 50 being 100% wet and 100% dry. The Auto Volume Echo is one of the rare delay effects that actually affects the dry signal, so I'm not exactly sure if the mix is scaled in a linear way between the DL4 and Helix versions.

The Auto Volume Echo is in the Legacy folder under the delay menu in the Helix. It’s the same thing as the Auto Volume Echo on the DL4.

That really sucks to hear. If your stuff was registered, Line 6 could maybe help you out in the case that someone else tried to register it, but there's no lockout or anything like that...

Polarity is the issue. The H9 requires a center positive connection, and that little 2.1mm to 2.5mm adapter reverses the polarity so that the polarity at the barrel is center positive. The Stomp requires a center negative connection. You can still use that little adapter, but you need to reverse the polarity again so it goes back to center negative. Get one of these cables to put between the current doubler and the adapter, and you'll be good to go.

It's actually a bit over 1A, probably around 1.2A... It's just that the Strymon power supplies are able to provide more than the rated current at an individual jack as long as the sum of current being supplied to all jacks is less than the overall rating of the brick.

Do you have access to Helix Native? You may be recover those setlists by importing them into Native. If you don’t have Native, you could PM me, and I could take a look for you.
-
Make sure you’re running the latest version of HX Edit. Go to Help>About to see what version it is. 2.70 is the latest version. You have to update both HX Edit and the firmware on the Helix when doing a firmware update.

There are no model packs for the Amplifi. All of the models that are in the Triple Pack are already included in the Amplifi, though.
-
Reverse polarity won’t hurt the Stomp, but it won’t turn on with the wrong polarity. Use the Voodoo Lab Reverse Polarity cable between the doubler and the L6 adapter, and you’ll be good to go.

There are only three snapshots in each preset, period.

The Stomp doesn’t have the Command Center like other Helix products do, so it’s very limited as far as sending MIDI commands. The only thing it can do is send PCs when changing presets and send MIDI clock. There’s no way to assign MIDI commands to footswitches in Stomp Mode (or any mode, for that matter).

It’s a Ben Adrian original... Ben is the lead sound designer for the Helix. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line6-helix.1586637/page-947#post-21317662

It’s all digital, although the variable impedance circuit on the input is analog. But there’s no analog dry path. That doesn’t really work with multi-FX pedals where you have drive pedals and amp models.

If it was “half broken”, as you say, when you bought it used from L&M, that seems to be one them, as they shouldn’t have sold something broken in the first place...

Well, what you’re describing there is the classic symptoms of a corrupted preset... I’m not sure exactly why it happens, but it seems that a preset will cause that every now and then. The best thing to do is overwrite the problematic preset with something else.
-
When you say it’d bricked, will it not power up?
-
You need to have a charged battery in the Variax, a 1/4” cable connected and the volume knob turned up. The little VDI interface only carries data, not power.

The Guitar In and Aux In are different from an electrical perspective. The Guitar In is optimized for a high impedance, instrument level signal, and the Aux In is designed for a line level signal.

POD Farm 2 (Cubase 9,5/Win 10) NO LICENSE FOUND
phil_m replied to ANTDEM's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Did you buy the GX new or was it used? Some hardware came only with a license for POD Farm 1 and others come with a license for POD Farm 2. If you just bought it new, it should have a PF2.5 license.- 9 replies

Yes, this would be my suggestion as well... Double check the Snapshot Edits parameter under Global Settings>Preferences. If it’s set to Recall your changes in the current snapshot will be stored automatically when you go to a different snapshot. If it’s set to Discard, the change will only be stored if you save the preset before going to another snapshot. It sounds like this setting may have gotten changed. You also may want to check the EXP Position parameters under Global Settings>Pedals. Those setting can have an effect on what happens with snapshots as well.

Stay competitive? They’re actually probably the number one modeling brand in the world based on sales alone... So they’re already competing and winning. I just don’t think they about being able have a bulletin point that says they have the most amps modeled just for the sake of having it. Honestly, I’ve played through the AX8, and having that many amps to sort through is almost as a hindrance as much as it’s a feature. The differences between a lot of the models are very minor in the grand scheme of things, and, honestly, even with half the amp models the Fractal products would still be great. To me, the sheer number if amps isn’t a major selling point. It really comes down to how you want to use the unit and how easy it is for you to do what you want to do.

Open up a support ticket. Line 6 will send you a new one. Here is Line 6’s official statement regarding the pedal, for the record: Line 6 has determined that a very small percentage of the expression pedals in the Helix LT guitar processor have broken during use. Although they have made adjustments to the manufacturing process that will eliminate this issue going forward, if you own a Helix LT and encounter this problem at any time (in the past, now, or in the future) please know that Line 6 has your back! In order to fix the problem as quickly as humanly possible, they have decided to simply replace the entire unit free of charge. Just let them know if you encounter this issue by opening a support ticket at https://line6.com/support/tickets/ and they will take it from there.
