  1. Store >> Software >> Standard Model Packs http://shop.line6.com/model-packs/standard-model-packs/
  2. The red-faced Toneports came with PF1. The newer black-faced POD Studios come with PF2, standalone and plug-in. Basically your are running a trial version of PF2.
  3. You should be entitled to PF2, unless the first to it was registered is before a cut-off date, which is rare. Is there an option to authorize the UX1?
  4. There are 3 dropdown menus, select, your product, driver, OS and click GO.
  5. Does it happen if only the X3 is connected? IIRC the X3 (eventually) came with a PF1 hardware enabled license whereas the POD Studio comes with a hardware enabled PF 2 license. So if you are launching PF2 standalone it would not be authorized by the X3.
  6. Is this a red-faced Toneport or black-faced POD Studio?
  7. To the best of my knowledge, there are no extra models in the X3 that are not in PF Platinum, so I think the manual is incorrect. But I will do a bit more digging.
  8. I stand corrected, did a little digging and seems the UX8 came with a hardware enabled license for PF Platinum, including the plug-in. Not sure if it was always like that or if started at a certain time. So upgrading to PF2 will not give you any new models, just more flexibility in the signal chain.
  9. Can you post a link to the Model Gallery you are referring to? By HD I mean I think some of those models are found in the POD HD series which has nothing to do with Gearbox or POD Farm. Yes, when you click on software and add-ons, if you do not see Gearbox or POD Farm 1 Plug-in I would not expect the Gearbox or POD Farm 1 Plug-in to work at all. Back when the UX8 was out, the Gearbox Plug-in was a separate purchased upgrade, or they may have granted a plug-in license as a special deal towards the end before they discontinued it. Also, you might want to call Line6 or open a support ticket.
  10. Is your UX2 an older red-faced Toneport or newer black-faced POD Studio?
  11. If you have not already, install the USB drivers, it allows you to use the FX100 as a USB Audio interface. Then all you need to do is connect your headphones to the FX100. No, currently there is no PC editor for the AMPLIFi series.
  12. I will have to look at what I have later on tonite, but PF does not add any new models with the exception of a vocal pre-amp (I think). Maybe there are typos because some of those sound like HD models. So if you go here: http://line6.com/account/software/ You have the Gearbox plug-in?
  13. 1. Yes, it is free to register. 2. Not sure, I think you can still update without registering. But if you purchased any add-ons, they will be tied to the your account you used to purchase them.
  14. You can use the XLR to TRS. You can also use the 1/4" outs on the X3 to the Line Ins of the UX2. In either case you will want to set the outputs on the X3 to Line. But this really is not optimal, you are introducing unneeded A/D D/A conversions. You're better off getting a mixer, doesn't need to be fancy, that way you can have more the one source connected to your monitors.
  15. I'm assuming the OP either downloaded regular PF2 software which is useless without a POD Studio / Toneport, activated the free trial of PF2, or purchased PF2 hardware independent software which can be used with most ASIO USB interfaces or as a plug-in. When using POD Farm with a POD Studio, I think the only inputs available in the Mixer view would be the physical inputs on the POD Studio, I do not think a USB mic is an available option.
  16. I wouldn't say that, there are many users successfully using a UX2 with Audacity. IMHO the most proper way would be to compile it to support ASIO, but there are other workarounds.
  17. Helix Native is a plug-in you would use within your DAW, it is not a standalone version. However, depending on your DAW's and computer's performance, you may be able to monitor the plug-in in real time with no noticeable latency. Helix Edit is a free editor for the Helix hardware.
  18. Yeah, if you are logged in to your account the device you are paired to will be able to access your My Tones. But those tones do not necessarily physically reside on either AMPLIFi. Each device stores 100 tones.
  19. I’m assuming you did not have the plug-in version, if so, everything should work with PF 1.12, and if Gearbox was working before the refresh it should still work. But if you need the plug-in version too… POD Farm 2.5 is a separate purchase. Before PF came out there was a separate license purchase for the Gearbox plug-in, which was replaced with PF. So at that time there was the free standalone PF or a paid license version for the plug-in. Eventually they released the POD Studios and bundled them with a hardware enabled PF2 license. What I’m not sure of is if the UX8 came with a hardware enabled license that unlocked all the model packs. If so, purchasing the PF2 standard may get you all the model packs as a plug-in if your UX8 is used as a dongle. There is a 30 day money back guarantee on the hardware independent version of PF2. NOT the iLok. Did you see any announcements concerning Helix Native?
  20. Create a tone you want to have on both devices and save it to My Tones. Then with that tone loaded send it to your AMPLIFi, it will overwrite the slot you send it to on the AMPLIFi. Pair to the 2nd AMPLIFi and repeat.
  21. I have never used the free trial version of POD Farm 2, but I’m pretty sure it is standalone only, no plug-in. The normal usage of PF2 is either with an ASIO (or Core Audio on Mac) audio USB interface or as a plug-in within a DAW. Not sure if there is a workaround for your configuration.
