Let’s hope MIDI 2 improves the “standard”. Only taken a little less than 40 years to update. ;-)

Hi, Or maybe, as I can see from you screen shots, something else is involved in this equation? Those [white brackets] around the Sync, Feedback etc., would indicate that those numbers are variable and controlled by something else - Snapshots for example? This could be where the issue is arising. Have you tried to tie the tempo to the snapshots?

Hi, When you are in Global Settings, set the TAP to transparent, but also ensure that the TAP TEMPO is set to Global. See if that helps.

Helix Rack unable to take word clock in at 96k... but does at 88.2k?
datacommando replied to kohit8's topic in Helix
Hi, I’m not in a position to be able to check this, but if both the Focusrite and Helix are set to the same sample rate then theoretically it should just work. You say that all the other sample rates are working as expected, so you need to try to isolate the problem I would guess from the statement - 96khz is what you like to use - then you have been using this setting successfully up to now? The thing is, as you have updated the firmware in both units, it makes tracking down the problem a little more difficult. If you know that your Helix synced previously, I would suggest that you reflash your Helix firmware back to a known good version number. If it then works perfectly, then it’s a bug in the Helix firmware, and if the opposite is true then I would suspect the Focusrite. Without having both pieces of hardware available to test, it is very awkward to pinpoint which maybe at fault. I would suggest that you contact Line 6 Customer Support to see if they can assist, also raise the issue with Focusrite at the same time to see if they have encountered anything similar. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Yeah , it made me smile too. I wouldn't want to spend hard earned cash on such a novelty that might only be used once or twice. It appears that Mrs Smith is something of an internet star. I was looking for Miku when I stumbled on that particular video, but there are some other Mrs Smith guitar vids. :)

This thing is totally weird and I think that Korg have now discontinued it, but out on the inter web there is a Swedish death metal guy doing a demo, some dude playing Slipknot riffs through it, plus a couple of young guys who actually try to make it sound good by using a volume pedal to swell into the effect. As for an actual song this is the only thing that I could find - once again, it”s more than a little freaky!

Hi, The easy fix for this is, after updating the firmware, simply restore your Global Settings from the backup which you made prior to updating. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Not the same, and a very old gizmo now, but as the title of the video states: A good waste of 15 minutes of your life - tell me you didn’t laugh!

Watch this. Then this. And how to add a boost - start around 2:37 in. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Especially when trying to get the sweat off the strings. :)

It might get included after Line 6 add the “unbelievably talented guitar player” block and optional USB coffee pot warmer. I had to check that what I read in the thread title was real. Jeez.

Hi, Raise a ticket with Customer Support, but they would possibly like a lot more information than you have supplied here. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Try a factory reset. HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs Hope this helps/makes sense.

I’m surprised that you have to ask the question. There is so much information, and demo videos, all over the internet showing what the Helix is capable of. Although, maybe you are looking for some reassurance from users, because it’s quite a big investment. O.K. I started out with this Line 6 stuff way back with the old original red kidney bean POD, later in 2006 a POD XTLIve (with the Gold Bundle extras), then the POD HD500 (and POD Farm) in 2010, and ultimately, late in 2015 the Helix floor. Let me say that this thing is a world away from where Line 6 began with modelling. It may look like the flight deck of the Starship Enterprise when you first spark it up, but it’s really easy to find your way around and create great tones right from the off. Plus, in the time I have had mine, there have many, many firmware updates adding stacks more stuff - free. You say that you are “thinking about making the switch” - don’t think about it - do it, you won’t regret it.

2- my helix doesn't work (new issues and desperation)
datacommando replied to SenseiJuancho's topic in Helix
It sure is. Why have you started a new thread for the same problem? You seem to have run out of options from the solutions offered in this forum. “The device is new, it has not suffered shocks, electric shocks, humidity, smoke ...” If this is the case! then your Helix will be still under warranty - raise a ticket with Customer Support for a repair or replacement. -
This looks like it needs an electronics technician. I have never seen this sort of thing before. You have nothing to lose by trying to install from a Windows PC, but a stream of zeros and ones travelling down a wire, are the same from any computer. I would have thought you Mac was the problem if it was one of the new models, or running Big Sur, but you are running the same system as me (High Sierra on a IMac 27”Retina 5k) and I have never had any issues updating.

Same here. The ability to swap mic type, position, and distance in a virtual 3D space within the Helix should have been included right from the start. I really cannot understand why.

Thanks. I have never been too big a fan of Ableton Live, although I got a bundled version when I changed my master MIDI keyboard a few years back. I guess I only ever used it a couple of times, so now it’s just taking up space on one of my drives, along with several other DAWs that I use to check out HX Native for issue that people post on here. I think I will stick with Logic Pro X.

Hi, Here is possibly the best solution for you. Buy the HX Stomp. Once you have purchased and registered the hardware, you are eligible for the discount on Helix Native priced at $99.99. Occasionally there are promo deals and there may be even more of a discount bringing the price down to in the region of $70. While waiting for a good deal on the software you can be recording with your Stomp, and also download the free 15 trial version of Native. That way you can experience the best of both worlds. Oh, yeah you can also record both your guitar and bass - easy. Stick in an inexpensive M-Audio expression pedal and away you go. If you need a MIDI expression there are lots of options, but the Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller seems to get lots of votes on here. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I think he did it as a BUMP ⬆︎⬆︎⬆︎ :)

This is a bullet point from the promo blurb on the Blackstar site. • Unity Bass Series Active Cabinet – connect to any amp in the Unity Bass Series for 250W of extra power That makes it seem as if it has to be connected to the other unit. I haven't used this type of cab, but this is from the user hand book page 17 - which says it can be used. 4. Cabinet Link/Line Input This is the balanced audio input to your Unity Pro Bass U250ACT Active Cabinet. Connect the Cabinet Link output from any Unity Pro Bass combo here using an XLR cable (supplied). Your U250ACT Active Cabinet can also be connected to most external preamps, amp modellers or effects processors for live use, with up to 250W of power. Simply connect the output of the external equipment to this input of your U250ACT using an XLR cable or 1⁄4" instrument cable. Hope this helps/makes sense

Hi, First thing to check is that you don’t have any firewall protection or something like “Little Snitch” or “Radio Silence” blocking your attempts to log in. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, This is crazy, because usually in these situations people complain that their Helix is bricked when it fails to complete the update correctly and they get a blank screen. This one appears to boot, but fails to respond to any button pushes. I have to say that as far as I know, everyone else who had a failed update, and then followed the instructions above, managed to get their unit back to normal operation, unless there was a hardware fault, which requires a technician. From what you have stated here, it seems as if you managed to re-install the firmware, because in your second post you said you were unable to do that: "the iMac does not detect the Helix. "Select device to update" appears on the Updater screen, but there is nothing to choose, it is a black box." If you used the Line 6 Updater Utility and connected to the Helix and you re-installed the firmware, then you managed to connect the Helix and HX Edit over USB, but the Helix doesn't respond to to any command then the best thing to do is to raise a ticket with Customer Support. The only other thing that may be causing a problem is your Mac might be loading and earlier version of HX Edit - Check your Mac is not linking to an ALIAS of HX Edit. Ensure are using version 3.01. When, and if, you are certain that there are no other versions of the Line 6 software on your machine - go through the firmware re-install routine as I described previously. If your Mac can detect the Helix on the USB, run the installer with no other applications running. When the operation completes the Helix should reboot and go through the rebuilding presets routine - make sure this action completes. Then load HX Edit v3.01 and it should connect to the Helix. You should then be able to reload your presets from the back up file which you made before. If you are still having problems, but the HELIX is getting past the startup screen and displaying a preset (as in your photo above), turn the power off and then back on again while holding down FS10 & 11, then release the foot switches as soon as you see the message "Rebuilding Presets" on the screen. Once again - if you cannot get this to work - you may need a technician to lookout it Sorry I cannot be anymore help.

Copy and paste the blocks you need from one preset to the other, or add the block to your “Favourites” to load whenever you need it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
