Well Im betting if you did get another "fluke" lemon Helix like the last one seems to be, you just might wind up getting a Fractal unit, and I cant say id blame you then. ;) Its probably just a cold solder joint, but even if you knew that it would void all warranties once they found out you fixed it.

I don't see how I can blame the Firestone tires wearing out on my car, compared to the GoodYear tires on my neighbors. He bought his tires, and I bought mine. He fixes his flats even if I don't have any flats at all. I own my tires and he owns his tires. I might buy a set of GoodYears later on, but He doesn't owe me a thing for my Firestones now, and I don't expect him to pay for any of my tire rotations or balancing. I don't care if he can get flats changed sooner or gets free coffee while he waits, as as long as its done right where I go. My UA Apollo gives a message saying that I need to turn off and back on the Apollo after the Mac go's to sleep. So Its not just the Helix interface that does it.

If (assuming Im correct) the IR's used by Helix are proprietary to Helix only, then why not release the software and let us make our own? This abundance of IR's would only sell more Helix units wouldn't it? Im only going by the fact that so far, the idea of making amps n cabs and such worked pretty good for Kemper. Granted theres some that just don't want to weed thru the junk to find a diamond tone wise.

Go find and play thru one. Tweak it, spend an hour or two with it, and then you will know what Helix can do versus your Firehawk.
