  1. I use the Mission SP-1 L6 Helix pedal for my wah, and use an Ernie Ball Volume pedal for (wait for it) volume. I have gotten used to the Mission pedal for wah because of the switch, and because my wah adjustments allow me to keep the wah on and at "heel down" the wah is turned off.
  2. I assume 2.01 update went in ok? If so and it still does this freeze up at random from the front panel, I would submit a ticket for repair or replacement with Line 6.
  3. Bumping 60 myself and thats not old ! :P
  4. Here are my old settings for "heel down wah off". Im using a Mission Helix SP1-L6 pedal, but that shouldnt matter as these settings should work with any good foot controller. Feel free to adjust your own settings. I have since adjusted the Maximum value (toe down) on the high freq to 1.3 Khz, and to my ears its better now. The point is, at heel down the percentage of the wah go's to zero, and its now shut off, (tone go's back to original without wah on) and the moment you rock it forward the Wah is back on. 5. The HD500 is good enough. And I must admit the test above fooled me. The real question is will it be good enough in the back of your head later on, when you know you could have owned Helix and didn't. The processing power alone between the two units should convince you. And, keep in mind that the test above was A/B'd with "one" very close tone between the two units. That is not to suggest that many other amp/cab tones will turn out in the same regard. Some will be close like the one above was i'm sure, but the majority? No I don't think so. So it comes down to what you really "really" want to own. No matter what anyone else says, that is the bottom line. :)
  6. Running around Ebay just now and saw this... Case I have the rack so its not for me, but looks like a nice floor case.
  7. My simple answer is, if its not clipping coming in then something is broken and this shouldn't happen. Anyone else care to disagree or expand on this finding?

    Precious!!

    Nice cover Mark!
  9. Pump and machine switched on... I too wanna see Workbench HD work with Helix (and a tuner for the editor and etc etc etc). Said that the moment I purchased Helix a while ago. And, thats on avg. correct history wise with L6, however with DI (and others) here there has been at least a little more info than there used to be, thats for SURE! And just a little more info is always better than none, every time. (/Suction pump and Brown nose machine off). :D
  10. eh, no troubles :P . Im Mr. Obvious on some occasions. Mr. asshat on others. But 1st and foremost, i'm a guitar player. Oh yea, I don't like either Menendez brothers ;)
  11. I sent both XLR's to the monitor inputs on my Firehawk 1500. The 1/4" jacks I sent to the Mixer. That audio from the Mixer can goto many places including my Apollo interface. I do not use Helix as an audio interface as many do.
  12. Never owned passives but I had two active CLR's. Loved um. Sold um to buy more stuff. Go figure. :P
  13. Here is the right answer to that IMO and YMMV. If you are playing out and over half the people in the pub getting into what you are doing, does it really matter at that point if its FRFR or a amp/cab?

I use Bleachbit on mine... ;)
  15. Yep cause (duh) we all hear different. There was a pink noise generating rack mounted box I believe made by Peavey years ago that "eq'd" a room using a special mic. I had one and it worked well. You ran it for a few minutes with mic on a stand in FOH some distance back... Sorry Im rambling... :P
  16. Welcome and I think once you play with Helix for a bit more you wont worry about meters. Im thinking (guessing really on this part) that the input levels are software and hardware monitored for clip automatically. And once the signal has gone thru A to D conversion after being set all is well. Same for the D to A conversion back to audio. No read need for meter R&D and expense when done that way. And, I "know" that I can also use the Levels on my Mixer, my DAWs signal input meters and master fader, and other equipment that Helix is running into to verify a 0 db reference (including my ears in general), so the non-metering on Helix is really not so "absolutely essential" (even if we would prefer to see the levels in Helix). And besides all that, for me "tone" is much more important than extra meters if I had to choose between the two. Case in point, how many Fender Twins have we seen with a signal meter? :)
  17. Its funny in a way. My Kemper is running thru an SLA amp into a Marshall 1960a cab, and it just sounds killer that way. My Helix OTOH sounds great thru my Firehawk 1500 amp thru the Monitor in jacks. Both sound great thru the X2442 Mixer and into my studio Mackie 824s.... So much for sticking to just one way to do things. ;)
  18. Ownhammer IR's. Parametric EQ after the IR block, with settings. Thanks!!!
  19. As long as Helix is updated to work as the VDi Im happy. Fulfills one of my Helix bucket-list items.
  20. Tuner for the editor? Naw too much.... Ill go with full DT integration because that will make their old stock worth much more, and force me to re buy another one ;) :D
