  1. Glad you got it sorted out. Just going back to the ‘Trails off’ situation…… As I mentioned you will hear the FX trails if you have it set to Trails On. The amount of trail you hear is defined by the FX settings. For instance if I want to hear more trails on a delay FX I would increase the FX Feedback or Mix parameters, not the Level parameter. Note that this adjustment would apply to the FX as long as it is turned on, not just when you turn it off. In other words you will hear the increased delay FX all the time, not just when it’s trailing.
  2. The harmonizer generally works reasonably well for single notes but not for chords. It’s a mono- rather than poly - phonic FX. Works best for lead solos rather than rhythm. Does it work acceptably well for your solos?
  3. I think you ended up being an innocent target of some frustration that was misdirected. You’re a first time poster here and I’m sorry that this was your first experience. Somehow we were triggered and fired off. We do try to be helpful. Please continue to post questions as they come up.
  4. Just to make sure.... you need to press and turn the knob to assign it to the Snapshot controller.
  5. You should be able to assign both the delay time and mix to the Snapshot controller. It sounds like the mix parameter has not been assigned. Does it also have the white brackets around it? It should. If you truly can’t assign it to the Snapshot controller that may mean that you have already reached the maximum number of parameters that can be assigned to Snapshots within a preset. That number is 64 and I’ve never seen it reached. The Trails On/Off parameter is a fixed switch. The trails are either on or off at any time. The term ‘Trails off’ does not mean there is an adjustable time parameter during which the sound ‘trails off’. It means that the entire Delay sound, as configured, is allowed to continue rather than be abruptly cut off.
  6. Yes. In addition to importing the IR you need to activate the IR block in the preset and select the imported IR slot/location.
  7. Yes it covers v3.1, including the new amp and FX in that release. There's also a promise of free doc updates as the firmware is updated.
  8. Personally, I would spend my $$ on a better quality microphone than a mic preamp. It's not even clear that the MOTU is a better preamp than the HD500X.
  9. The only one I'm aware of is very recent, and while not free I think it's very good value. It's discussed here:
  10. Sorry - I misinterpreted and didn’t notice you were replying to someone else. I thought the question was odd coming from you, being an experienced member here. I should have looked more closely. Again, apologies.
  11. Your choice. See Global Settings -> Ins/Outs
  12. Connect Helix to computer via usb. Connect headphones or amp to Helix outputs. Set your computer audio/sound to use Helix as the audio device.
  13. Every time Helix starts up it checks for presets that were created in older firmware. If it finds any it rebuilds them to ensure compatibility with current firmware. It seems the presets you imported were created in firmware prior to v3.11. Perfectly normal behaviour - no need to worry. P.S. In general it's a good habit to power off/on your Helix immediately after importing any presets to force this rebuild, especially if you think the presets are older. There is a possibility that a corrupt preset was imported, which could cause unpredictable behaviour up to and including freezing your Helix.
  14. Yes I am able to run both Helix Native and Pod Farm v2.51 on Windows 10 Pro using a Helix Rack as my audio interface.
  15. Did your user created preset use an IR? If so you must also export / import the IR.
  16. .... moved to Helix forum from Lounge ......
  17. Can you be more specific? Exactly what ‘legendary’ pedal are you referring to?
  18. You can copy multiple presets simultaneously so you can proceed exponentially. After copying the first preset you then have two presets you can copy in a single operation to make four, then eight, etc. Not ideal but much more time friendly.
  19. Glad you’re enjoying it. Thanks for reporting back.
  20. I also purchased it and am happy with the value for $. I’ve watched the video pointed to in MusicLaw’s post so I’m sure I’m not giving anything away here. The most useful things for me in this eBook are: - a complete description of all Helix FX and their parameters including examples and usage tips; - a thorough description of multi-amp parallel processing with many different examples; - enough information on EQ and it’s many applications (cab emulations, multi-band processing, …) to drown me - but all of it interesting and useful; and - many DSP saving tips and tricks. All in all, many ideas, examples, and templates to bring to my own preset creation methods.
  21. While there is no magic sync, you can Export (save) individual setlists or even the full bundle from your Helix device using HX Edit, and then Import them into Helix Native from the saved file on your computer. Of course, you need to be sure that your versions of Helix firmware and Helix Native are compatible and that Helix Native is running in the appropriate Hardware Compatibility mode.
  22. Every New Preset has 8 Snapshots whose default names are Snapshot 1 through Snapshot 8. In HX Edit, right click on the name and choose to rename it. Remember to hit the Enter key when done. This will not affect the snapshot names in the original preset (assuming you mean the preset that you copied). All snapshots share the same preset structure, including the selection and placement of all amps, cabs, and FX blocks. You can turn the blocks on/off per snapshot but any change you make in terms of adding, deleting, or rearranging blocks in the preset will affect all snapshots. You can also change the parameters for any of these blocks per snapshot by assigning the parameter to the Snapshot controller. Also, become familiar with the Global Settings parameter that defines whether changes to snapshots are recalled or discarded when you switch snapshots within a preset before saving the preset (see manual).
  23. Heat dispersion is another good reason for not placing your device directly on the carpet. Imho, airflow underneath it helps prevent overheating even if the air vents are on the side of the device.
  24. Check the Min and Max level settings for the Vol block in the preset.
