  1. Here’s the best advice you can get - direct from Line 6 firmware update release notes. Just follow the instructions.
  2. The scope of HX Stomp midi capabilities is described in the manual. There’s no mention of anything like you want to do.
  3. HX FX will respond to any device that sends it appropriate midi commands, as defined in the midi section of the HX FX manual.
  4. No, Helix Control is not able to control the HX FX device (or anything other than Helix Rack).
  5. There are three ways to provide power to a Variax guitar’s modeling electronics: 1) A VDI cable connected to a compatible Line 6 device. You mention that this method is working for you. 2) A standard TS mono guitar cable in the 1/4” output along with a charged battery in the Variax guitar. 3) An external Variax power supply. In this case you need to use a TRS cable in the 1/4” output. The ‘R (ring)’ contact supplies the power to the guitar.
  6. No, that’s not right. Your external speakers need to be powered.
  7. POD Go cannot control Powercab speaker selection. You must do it manually.
  8. I have used both my older Variax 300 model and my JTV-59 with my POD Go, connecting using the 1/4” Variax analog output. I have experienced no problems. Everything works as expected.
  9. This is proprietary information. The only people who should have it are Line 6 and their authorized service centres, and they’re not going to provide it to you.
  10. Any DSP benefit to the HD Bean in terms of processing power because of the things mentioned is probably more than offset by the increased power of the ProX compared to the Pro (and Bean) because of the upgrade in chipset with the ProX (and not Pro or Bean). Overall I think the processing power difference is marginal, one way or the other.
  11. The more disturbing part is the implication that someone else beat him to it.
  12. Yes you can do that. Just run HX Edit on your PC using your account, with her LT connected.
  13. Unfortunately there's no global setting to have both Mic and Guitar inputs specified for all presets. You have to do it for every preset. However, you can make a template preset with the inputs configured and then copy that preset as a starting point for all vocasl + guitar presets you want to make. Here's a candidate for your template preset. It's designed for an acoustic guitar+ vocals but easily modified. https://line6.com/customtone/tone/2044875/
  14. See Global Settings -> Footswitches. Knob 3 - Preset Mode Switches (manual page 68)
  15. Define ‘popular’. ;-) More than1? Yes. The majority? Probably not. Somewhere in between? Probably.
  16. I believe it’s in the Volume section of blocks.
  17. Helix Help – The Unofficial Guide Also, here's a sample of an extensive series of videos from Jason Sadites.
  18. I expect there are lots of people who do that, although I’m not one of them. Do you have a specific question for those people?
  19. There is also a factory setlist named Templates that contains some examples of different preset structures. Copy anything you find interesting to another preset location and experiment.
  20. Sounds like you’re already leaning towards the Stomp XL, and that would be a good choice. You might want to review their respective manuals to make sure you won’t be surprised by any features or operational considerations.
  21. No. Footswitch mode is a global setting.
  22. Try a program called DT Edit. With the latest DT amp firmware it allows you to configure and save any of the 8 DT amp configurations (I, II, III, IV in each of Channel A and B) with your choices of any HD500X amp models. http://rome2.github.io/dtedit/
  23. Not sure exactly what specifications you’re looking for. You’ll find the publicly available specs in the manual: Beyond that I can’t help.
  24. Ouch. That sucks. Sadly, I’ve never been involved in an orgy so I can only imagine what you describe actually feels like but I imagine….not good. My first guess at the culprit would be the cable between the Variax and the Helix. You describe it as an Ethernet type cable, which it is. The cable you should be using is called a VDI cable, which is an Ethernet cable with both ends securely fastened to the RJ-45 ports by a secure housing. If you are using a regular Ethernet cable, or even the one supplied with your Variax guitar (protected only on one end) you are vulnerable to displacement of the cable. That could explain the dropout. Please confirm that you are using the Line 6 VDI cable that is protected and secured on both ends.
