AMPLIFi v2.1 Firmware Update Adds USB Recording Functionality
silverhead replied to Triryche's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
You only need to apply the most recent update. Every update is comprehensive and includes all earlier updates. -
I can sympathize. I think it would be better to avoid disappointing customers by not providing shipping dates at all. Or provide a much broader window, like a quarter year. And if in doubt, use the later quarter. In this case it would better if they had said 'Will ship in Q2 2015'. Then you'd be really happy to get in on 4/8, or even two months later than that.

The cd/MP3 input is passed directly to the analog outputs in the HD500X; it is not converted to a digital signal. Hence it is not delivered to the digital L6 Link output. It is normal that you hear no sound from that input through the Dt25 with your setup.

Try the Vintage Pre amp. It's in the EQ FX section.

Can an HD300 use the Settings from a Flextone III?
silverhead replied to Butch_Snyder's topic in POD HD
Sounds like a good plan, and I think you'll end up being happy. But it will take some time to find your HD300 tones through a PA. And again, I wouldn't start by uploading your Flextone settings, even if that were possible, or by trying to reproduce them manually. P.S. - I agree with radatats. The Firehawk might be a better choice for you. -
Can an HD300 use the Settings from a Flextone III?
silverhead replied to Butch_Snyder's topic in POD HD
No, you can't upload them. You can try to recreate them manually, but the underlying modeling is different. That means the same amp and FX models with the same parameter values will sound different on the two devices. So you can use that as a starting point for tweaking but you can't avoid the tweaking. You also need to consider your output devices. What are you going to connect the HD300 outputs to? That will greatly impact any attempt to recreate the Flextone sound. Also, the HD amp modeling in the Hd300 is (in most people's opinion) an improvement over earlier modeling technologies. You should be able to create superior tones. Why would your goal be to exactly reproduce arguably inferior tones? So while it initially sounds reasonable I think it is misguided to try to recreate tones from previous devices. I would start from scratch with the Hd300. Plan on a learning and experimenting curve before using it live. Ignore your Flextone settings and find a better sound with the Hd300. -
It will be fixed and assigned at the output. That's what makes it global. You can't arbitrarily assign a global FX anywhere in the signal chain. That's what the existing non-global EQs are for.

StagescApe m20d
silverhead replied to guitarman001's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Note that the only processed tracks sent to the DAW are tracks 19 and 20, being the stereo mix of the processed sound comprised of tracks 1-18. Those individual tracks are recorded dry, for plugin post-processing and reamping in your DAW. The M20d is not useful as the reamping device due to the high latency. Like you suggest, I do the live capture using an SD card in the M20d - no computer. Then import the individual tracks from the SD card to the computer/DAW when desired for the post processing. -
Yes - it is the same for the HD Pro/x, except for the pedal calibration since there is no pedal on the Pro devices.

In my experience it does work as described in the manual for recording. However, the M20d is not useful as a general audio interface to your DAW after the initial recording. The latency is too great; playback of the recorded tracks cannot be synchronized with overdubbing. Line 6 has already stated that they do not intend to make the M20d a general purpose audio interface. -
First you need to reinstall the firmware. During this process you choose between keeping your existing presets or overwriting them. If you want the original factory presets you need to choose to replace/overwrite your existing presets (make a backup first if you want to restore them). Then you should perform a Global Settings reset (this is different from restoring factory presets) followed by pedal calibration. http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-2222 http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd500-hd500x/pod-hd500xhd500-pedal-calibration-r161

Maybe my hearing is bad, but what I heard him say is... "... for nineteen ninety nine dollars..." (my emphasis). In other words I didn't hear any mention of a bundled discount.

You can download the driver directly from the Downloads section of this website (under the Support tab). Then install manually, but don't connect your pod via usb until after the driver has been installed on your PC.

I'm pretty sure that digital will have replaced analog by the time this thread gets another 100 posts. Surely there's no more to be said? 😜
-
Yes - the external cord/wallwart. Sorry I wasn't more clear. I can certainly understand your questioning if I was jumping straight to the internal power supply!
-
Yes it could also be a stuck or loose internal switch. And even if that is more likely I would still start with software and psu. I suggested the external power supply first because that has often been the problem when the symptom involves unprompted changes in performance and/ or display issues, and because it is a non-intrusive test/fix. Nothing needs to be taken apart and no hardware needs to be touched or replaced. If it is indeed the problem the solution is cheap and easy. My general approach to problem solving is to rule out the easier and cheaper potential fixes, especially if there could be a software fix or external psu, before moving to the more expensive and intrusive internal hardware fixes.

Have a look at this: http://www.rackvax.com/products/rackmount/rackvax-electric/ I know this was available in the early years of the original Variax guitars. I don't know if it is still available. And if so I'm pretty sure it won't have the HD models. You would need to install a compatible pickup system on your acoustic. I don't know how feasible that is.
-
I would try two things. First, try reinstalling the firmware using Line 6 Monkey. Before doing so, run the Edit program and save all your current setlists. During the reinstallation, chose to replace the existing presets. If that does not resolve the problem try replacing the power supply unit.

Are you certain about the behaviour in your #2 description? Is it consistent and repeatable? I can't understand how the device can retain its information about the unsaved FX state (off) after switching patches. I would have expected the same behaviour as in #3.
-
Is this true with several different headphone sets or is it just the one set you are using? It could just be the plug on the one set.
-
Check the HD500X mixer settings to make sure nothing is unintentionally muted. Also try headphones with the Hd500X headphones output. Do you hear sound? Also try using other patches that worked previously. Do you still hear sound from them?
-
Yes. First tap a footswitch to select a different patch without saving changes to the current patch. Then select the previous patch again. It is now loaded from the device memory in its last-saved state, overwriting the recently unsaved changes.

Make sure you turn on the phantom power. Your mic requires this. -
Looking for a 4 Channel mixer and speakers for HD500?
silverhead replied to christufts's topic in POD HD
+1 to previous post. I think you'll be better off with a less costly mixer and put your $$ into powered monitors, between 5" and 8" depending on budget. Note: you did say studio monitors, right? If you want to move your setup frequently to different venues then we would have different recommendations for you.
