  1. No. The M20d L6 LINK is an output connection. There is no L6 LINK IN on the M20d.
  2. I guess it depends on your dealer/repair centre. I have ordered many Variax 300 parts at different times from my local parts distributor. They were always shipped express the next day. I always received them within 2 days.
  3. What guitar(s) are you comparing the JTV sound with/to, that leads you to remorse?
  4. I had mine fixed late last year. It cost $100 Canadian. I had it fixed at a dealer/service centre that now sells the HD500 brand new for $510; a new HD500x sells for $540. So to get it fixed here cost almost 20% of the cost of a new device. I do not know what internal component was replaced, its item cost, nor the complexity of the replacement activity.
  5. From what I have read (and based on my personal experience with both) there are many more comments in this forum that say the HD500 sounds much, much better than the X3. The HD500 sound quality is much more authentic, dynamic, and responsive. There are some good reasons to stick with the X3 (dual output mode, recording features, direct bass/vocal support) but amp/FX modeling quality is not one of them. For playing live there's really no comparison (imho) in the tonal quality. The Pod HD beats the Pod X3 hands down.
  6. I've seen several reports of errors from users who have upgraded to the Maverick OS. I have not yet seen any solutions or workarounds, nor any acknowledgment from Line 6 that their drivers need to be updated. I suspect you will need to wait for a driver update but that is pure speculation on my part. To get an official response form Line 6 on this I suggest you open a support ticket top work with them directly.
  7. The original Pod Farm requires authentication. You need to have an authorizing Line 6 device (e.g. Pod X3) connected via usb. What device are you using as your audio interface?
  8. Try this sample preset: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/217206
  9. Here's a sample preset that you can customize. It is designed for acoustic guitar and vocals: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659 It was built for an HD500 so you will have to convert it for the HD Desktop: http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd
  10. Unfortunately I think you are discovering why most people find the pod HD looper to be unsuitable for live play. It is primarily designed to practice soloing (post mode) and to audition tones and edits (pre mode). Personally I have not been able to master the tap dancing required for seamless live use.
  11. Just to test, try bypassing the patch bay. Connect HD Pro direct to zoom. You could also try lowering the HD Pro output volume.
  12. It was more expensive than I had expected. Can't say what it might be in your region.
  13. The 'kind of bug' that is happening seems to be a lack of proper synchronization when both the HD device and its Edit program are being used to make changes. Every time a change is made in the HD editor program there is a need to keep the HD500 device synchronized, so there is usb communication between the devices. The reverse is also true; even if you just switch presets using the HD500 footswitch, the HD Edit program needs to adapt to the change. Depending on the speed and sequence of where the changes are being made, and what kind of changes they are, the device and Editor can become unsynchronized. There are many situations in which this loss of synchronicity is noticed. The one described in this thread is just one of them; I've noticed arbitrary things going wrong several times. Unfortunately, bugs like this are very difficult to track down because sometimes it's not actually a bug in the software. The loss of synchronicity can be caused by a specific usb connection, or other simultaneous usb activity, on a given computer. I believe the usb communication protocol used by Line 6 is not as robust in terms of 'lost data' as is, say, the TCP/IP protocol used in a usb wireless dongle. If something goes wrong in the Line 6 usb communication, it is probably lost and not recoverable. But I'm just guessing here....... As mentioned by perapera above, here's a good guideline: ......anyway the point at which I came to is "do not use the footswitches on the pod while it is usb connected to the edit software"
  14. Just to be clear - the patches are compatible among the Pod HD Bean/Pro/Prox/500/500x. The conversion utility mentioned above by Rewolf48 makes patches completely compatible. However, patches from the Pocket Pod (which was your original question) are not compatible with any Pod HD device and there is no conversion utility that will make them compatible.
  15. In many cases, just replacing the usb port is not enough. The damaged port has probably caused a failure in an internal board/component within the HD500. I had the same thing happen to me. I had to take it in for servicing to replace the internal component as well as the USB port.
  16. I second the cautionary note about using ASIO4ALL. It works with Line 6 products for some people, and doesn't work well for others. A couple of key things to note about it: - The ASIO protocol defines that only one audio device is used; it must be both the input and output device. The very fact that ASIO4ALL can allow you to use different devices tells you that is not an ASIO-compliant driver. That means results are going to be unpredictable. - Line 6 supports its products when they are used with its drivers. Hence, anyone having any DAW-based trouble while using ASIO4ALL is not going to get any support from Line 6. Their response, rightly, will be: 'Stop using ASIO4ALL and use the Line 6 ASIO driver. Let us know if you still have problems.' But, as mentioned, ..... it works for some people.
  17. I'm not sure if the HD Prox can assign the s/pdif input to one of its channel inputs (Input 1 or Input 2). You can test this on your HD Prox preset Inputs options. If so then you should be able to connect the two devices as you describe and process the HD500 output as an HD Prox input for additional processing. If not, you should still be able to route the HD500 analog output(s) into the HD Prox Line Input(s). Set the HD500 Output Mode to Studio/Direct and set the Line/Amp switch to Line. I know you can select the Line Input(s) as Input 1 and/or Input 2 for further processing.
  18. The HD500 tuner only works with Input 1. Make sure your JTV is assigned to Input 1.
  19. Have you opened a support ticket as suggested?
  20. I've had hit and miss experiences in just changing filename extensions, or drag/dropping presets, among the Pod HD/Pro/HD500 devices. All presets for those devices are generally compatible except for the i/o options. Sometimes changing filenames or drag/dropping works perfectly, and sometimes you still need to tweak the inputs. Depends, as you say, on which devices you are using as source and destination. Not saying that changing extension or drag/drop won't work - just saying it can be spotty, and you may have to fiddle around a bit in the editor to get the preset to work in the destination device. Just saying that using the converter handles both filename and input conversions, for all device combinations, without the need to tweak the preset further once imported into the device editor.
  21. Yes - use this patch conversion utility (thanks jzab): http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd Note: I assume you mean the Pod HD Desktop. If you mean the original Pod 2.0, or the Pod xt/X3 then the answer is no.
  22. Some things to try: - try all usb ports on your computer. - use a different usb cable - avoid using any usb hubs - uninstall the drivers and try using Line 6 Monkey to install them. Pay close attention to the Monkey's instructions re: when you should have your usb connected and disconnected.
  23. I would open a support ticket with Line 6 if you haven't already done so. http://line6.com/support/tickets/
  24. Try all usb ports on your computer. Remove any usb hub if you are using one. If that fails you probably have a defective unit. I would return it to the ebay seller (and give them negative feedback).
  25. I agree too... but it remains just hopeful speculation. And I'm sure not holding my breath.
