You should still be able to get the main board fixed at a Line 6 service centre. Line 6 still supports the products, and likely maintains an inventory of the main boards. The reason that they are not available separately is that they never were. You need to purchase a guitar in order to get the main board. If you already have the guitar they can fix/replace the board - but you can't get just the board. Never could.

Ux2 Guitar Input Level
silverhead replied to anouchirvan's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
You are correct - the guitar input level is not controlled by the UX2. The guitar volume knob is one control. In Reaper you should also be able to adjust the input level for recording. -
Line 6 Ux 1 Suddenly Doesnt Work
silverhead replied to pitowilson's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
I suggest you open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html -
The tone difference could also be caused by different monitoring equipment (your amp, speakers vs. his) or recording equipment he used.

Line 6 Ux 1 Suddenly Doesnt Work
silverhead replied to pitowilson's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
I would run Line 6 monkey and reinstall the UX1 driver and firmware. -
Just Bought A Used Ux2 Unit
silverhead replied to Ford32Ford's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
You should download and install Line 6 Monkey first (see Downloads tab at the top of this page). Then run Line 6 Monkey with your UX2 connected via usb. The Monkey will guide you through the UX2 software installation process. -
Line In/monitor In/2 Mics With Ux2 Setup
silverhead replied to dback's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I think you'll be fine for the mics (3 condenser and the snare). However I'm not sure about the UX2's stereo monitor input. I believe this compares to the cd/mp3 input on other Line 6 devices. On those devices (I don't have a UX2) the cd/mp3 input is not converted to digital - it is passed directly to the analog outputs. If that is the case with the UX2 your monitor input will not be available for recording over the (digital) usb connection. -
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that is possible. There is already a product line of Line 6 audio interfaces for Mac/PC, that comes with the Pod Farm plugin product. The Pod Studio is the simplest, and compares to the Sonic Port: http://line6.com/podstudiogx/

I would try a different power supply. It need not be the official Line 6 one: https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=98-030-0041 .... but it has to match all specs exactly, especially the DC piece.

It's a global setting because it is designed to tweak the HD500 output tonal characteristics to that of external gear - a particular guitar amp. Each guitar amp/cab has its own characteristics and this setting permits you to get the best match that you can between the HD500 and the specific amp. It doesn't depend on the specific HD500 preset, but on the external amp. Once it is set it should only need to be changed when you switch external amps - not presets. For individual presets you use the internal HD500 amp/cab/FX settings.

Weird Noise Using Ux1. Please Help.
silverhead replied to Robert1969's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
It might be simpler to try using another computer as a test first. Maybe borrow a laptop for a couple of hours? -
I tried to use the HD500 MIC input as my main vocal mic for some time. The main difficulties that I had are: - unlike the Pod X3 you cannot 'Lock' the vocal tone on the Pod HD. That means you have to duplicate your vocal setup in every preset. And if you decide to change it - you need to manually change it in every preset. - the MIC processing requires its own path in a dual-path preset. That means you can't use dual-path processing for your guitar.

Here is where you can submit a feature request: http://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/

ON the X3 (and presumably in Gearbox also) there is a setting associated with the Amp called 'Bypass Volume'. This controls the volume level of the signal that is sent from the Amp block when the amp is off.

Controlling A Strymon Timeline By Midi From The Hd500
silverhead replied to starkjo's topic in POD HD
The HD500 can send MIDI messages as described in Appendix B of the Advanced Guide. The MIDI messages sent when you switch presets are pre-defined. However, you can assign controllers (FS1-8, etc...) to send additional MIDI messages within a preset. -
Slight Volume Drop When Changing Presets? Master Eq?
silverhead replied to mirflee's topic in POD HD
There is a very short audio dropout when switching presets. This is normal and usually not even noticeable unless you are playing alone and listening for it. It does become noticeable with some FX like Delay, because the delay trails are immediately cut off by switching presets. There is no master EQ. -
Also, the TRAILS setting only applies within a preset so that, for instance, delay trails will continue when the Delay FX is turned off. Even with TRAILS ON the trails will be cut off when you switch presets.

There's a link at the top of this page (and every webpage here) to a site called Customtone. This is where Line 6 users can post their presets/tones to share with others. Select the HD500 as the product, and enter 'deftones' in the search panel. Download the tones that yopu want to try out, load them into HD500 Edit, and audition them. If you want to save them to your HD500 device, use the SEND SELECTED command in HD500 Edit. Just be aware that these tones are not 'screened' in any way. What someone else thinks sounds like deftones may not sound right to you. But often they can be good starting points for tweaking.

When the tuner is engaged the display screen will show the current calibration in Hz/Frequency. Turn the little black knob (I think it is knob#1)to change it.
-
Check that the tuner is set to A=440. Also check that your reference is correct (whatever it is that makes you say the HD 'sounds like D').
-
The tuner has a calibration knob (A=440, etc.....) but it is a chromatic tuner. If you want Db, tune down from D until the display shows Db.
