  1. Have you opened a support ticket as suggested?
  2. I've had hit and miss experiences in just changing filename extensions, or drag/dropping presets, among the Pod HD/Pro/HD500 devices. All presets for those devices are generally compatible except for the i/o options. Sometimes changing filenames or drag/dropping works perfectly, and sometimes you still need to tweak the inputs. Depends, as you say, on which devices you are using as source and destination. Not saying that changing extension or drag/drop won't work - just saying it can be spotty, and you may have to fiddle around a bit in the editor to get the preset to work in the destination device. Just saying that using the converter handles both filename and input conversions, for all device combinations, without the need to tweak the preset further once imported into the device editor.
  3. Yes - use this patch conversion utility (thanks jzab): http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd Note: I assume you mean the Pod HD Desktop. If you mean the original Pod 2.0, or the Pod xt/X3 then the answer is no.
  4. Some things to try: - try all usb ports on your computer. - use a different usb cable - avoid using any usb hubs - uninstall the drivers and try using Line 6 Monkey to install them. Pay close attention to the Monkey's instructions re: when you should have your usb connected and disconnected.
  5. I would open a support ticket with Line 6 if you haven't already done so. http://line6.com/support/tickets/
  6. Try all usb ports on your computer. Remove any usb hub if you are using one. If that fails you probably have a defective unit. I would return it to the ebay seller (and give them negative feedback).
  7. I agree too... but it remains just hopeful speculation. And I'm sure not holding my breath.
  8. You can just install the latest update; no need to go progressively through them all. Instructions and videos: - Pilot's Guide and Advanced Guide (see Product Manuals under the Support tab at top of this page) - videos and other documents (see Videos and Knowledge Base, also under Support tab; filter for HD500) Yes, it is easier to use HD500 Edit for serious patch setup and editing sessions; you can use the HD500 itself but I tend to do that only for tweaking. Make sure your output mode is Studio/Direct for going to PA/monitors. See the Customtone tab at top of this page for starter patches. Filter as desired (device, artist, song, ...). Have fun!! It's a great device, but plan on taking some time to get used to it. I wouldn't commit to using it at a gig until you are comfortable doing so.
  9. Exactly right. Managing customer expectations is always difficult, and premature announcements - especially announcing that there will be an announcement - can really come back to bite you. Line 6 has learned their lesson on this and now rarely announces new products or updates until they are ready to go. Of course, that doesn't stop users from speculating and there are threads that get started here routinely, forecasting not only when unannounced new products/updates are thought to be pending but also their features and contents. Some users even manage to persuade themselves that their completely unfounded expectations are reasonable and get upset when they are not met. What's a company to do?
  10. I would take it back to GC and demand a replacement. They routinely resell as new products that have been returned as flawed.
  11. Have you tried all usb ports on your computer?
  12. You may have the wrong version of Pod Farm. The free version that came with your X3 is Version 1. The current is version 2.5. If you run Line 6 Monkey it should help you download and install version 1. Once installed you should have access to all amps and FX again.
  13. I suspect there's a problem with your usb connection. Try a different usb port on your computer, check/test your usb cable, and disconnect any usb hub you may be using. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Line 6 driver on your PC. A a last resort, reinstall your device firmware; don't forget to make backup copies of your presets/setlist first.
  14. Try engaging the hd500 tuner, in bypass mode. Do you still hear the echo?
  15. You should disconnect your HD500 analog outputs from your computer Line In jacks. Just use the USB connection. The Pod HD Edit program will recognize the HD500 and use it as the soundcard. Keep monitoring the sound using the HD500 outputs (e.g. headphones).
  16. Do you hear this slapback when the PC is disconnected from the HD500? What program are you using on your PC to receive the HD500 signal?
  17. 1. There is no 'delete' function. You delete a patch by overwriting/replacing it with a different patch. The easiest way to do this is to use the editor and drag/drop an 'empty' patch to the location you want to delete. You can create an empty patch, or use the New Tone preset that comes with the User setlists in the factory presets. 2. No - there is no printout capability, nor is there an export capability (e.g. to an Excel spreadsheet). However, some users have created templates to manually enter preset data into a printable file.
  18. I agree with GTLazer. Both of you should return and replace your units.
  19. Try using the X3 ASIO driver instead of asio4all.
  20. That would be the second check box. The first would say something like "I hereby indemnify and hold harmless Line 6 from any damage to equipment or persons resulting from excessive volume and feedback."
  21. You have to do a full reset by reinstalling the firmware. Use line6 monkey to do this. First, make backup copies of the presets/set lists that you want to restore. After reinstalling the firmware you need to reset the global parameters. A quick search of the knowledge base will give you details about how to do these things.
  22. You can make an 'official' feature request here: Line6.ideascale.com
  23. No. There is no locking of presets. But you can make backup copies so that you can restore them if mistakes happen.
  24. I'm not sure about this, but I would check my Trim settings in the Setup. I think the recorded signal may be post-Trim, and pre-Level. If so, and if your levels are adjusted higher to compensate for a lower Trim setting then that could result in a low recorded signal. Try increasing your Trim levels and decreasing your channel Levels. .... just a guess.....
