  1. Hi Douwe, I would try downloading the updated firmware file from the Line 6 Updater. Then install the update "from file". Its all within the interface making this quick and easy. I would recommend the Factory reset (While holding the master volume and tone button, power on) > Update mode > install update + follow post update instructions. Please let us know if this does/doesn't help. Thanks!
  2. Hi there, With FX100 the Red is overall volume while (pushing the master knob) the white is the guitars signal level. This can change with different presets to match the guitars level to that of the song. Also, when streaming music make sure the volume on your device is turned up all the way.
  3. Hi deployer, The correct part number for the G30 chassis which is the shell and the battery door is 97-000-0023.
  4. Hi angelojm, Unfortunately the TBP-12 case won't fit the G70 system due to its size. The TBP-12 case was designed for a headset/Lav system that has just enough room for two maybe even three transmitters. There currently isn't a case available for Relay but if you're looking on getting a case with the Line 6 brand on it, I personally use the "Line 6 Bag Compatible With The Pod HD500" which holds my system's and all of my cables that works out great for light travel to a demo, or a gig. From reading it sounds like you have a Taylor, I'm assuming some sort of acoustic. From experience I recommend avoiding putting anything bulky like a wireless system in the front pouch of an acoustic guitars gig bag if possible. If too much pressure pushes against the pouch, it may result in damage to the guitar, so keep that in mind if room gets tight in that pouch. ;)
  5. Hi Maedros, The XLR out and 1/4" out are considered the MAIN out of the G90 system, the output is the same for both outs. The XLR out is for Studio grade equipment that supports an XLR input, making your Gallien Krueger 800rb a perfect match. Feel free to connect an XLR cable to both back panels as XLR is a balanced connection, an ideal connection for the electric bass setup. :D
  6. Hi there yvocat, The DigiTech Whammy DT will work out just fine with AMPLIFi. As with any amp, when using a DT Whammy just be cautious at LOUD volumes when doing insane dive bombs.
  7. Hi khabbi, With the AMPLIFi family its all about the best solution for you. Both products are great for traveling. Apposed to the TT the FX100 offers onboard preset switching, and expression pedal for Vol/Wah. The TT was designed to be compact for your creative space like your desk, or the home entertainment center. To get the same control with the TT that you get with the FX100 you would need an FBV controller. If you were to go with the TT I would recommend checking out the FBV MKII controller which you can also use with your 150. The FBV gives you on/off control of all your FX, Preset Switching, and expression.

    EQ

Hi Cabomano, When writing tones I usually always leave the EQ off. 9 out of 10 times I get the tone I'm looking for without it, or even when trying to match a tone to one from a song.. But there are times where I need a little something extra or need to take some things away from my overall tone, this is when I will utilize the EQ. The general rule of thumb when EQ'ing (from your guitar tone, to a song) is to take away what you don't want. With the EQ on Firehawk FX its laid out real nicely. Within the bass, mids, and highs of the overall tone, you can scroll through the spectrum of different frequencies and either raise its level to hear more of it, or lower its level to hear less of it. As your ear develops this will become second nature to you. Good luck and happy tone writing!
  9. Hi there Andycarroll, L6 Link should only be used for "Linking" other L6 products together (POD HD500, other L-Series speakers, etc.) The Firehawk does not communicate with any other Line 6 devices including L-Series speakers. For this instance we will want to use the main Line input on the top of the back panel. This is a 'Combi' jack so either a 1/4" or XLR cable can be used with this input. With the Output Mode Settings there are two: Line out mode - Optimizes the guitar sound for direct recording and full range monitoring, the guitar signal will be available through both the 1/4' and XLR outs. Amp out - Sets the guitar output signal to instrument level (which is why this signal is only present in the 1/4" out's, a much quieter signal) this is also so if you were playing along with a song, only the playback would be present out of the XLR's For what you want to accomplish I would recommend going 1/4" left out to amp, and right out to a monitor. Since you're utilizing the 4-cable method this obviously won't work for your setup; which brings me to the headphone out. In either output mode setting, the PHONES output always receives the same audio as the XLR outs. Using this out for monitoring may be the solution. Let me know how this works out, or if you have any other questions. Thanks!!
  10. Hi there, This is a great set up. This is completely safe, and common to do. The FX loop does not send a loaded signal.
  11. Hi there, Firehawk FX does not have the ability to enable momentary switching. This is a great feature request, please share your request with us at Idea Scale: http://line6.ideascale.com
  12. Hi Kevinw679, I would recommend your 2020i's which will give you a stereo spread, and since they are flat response you will get great dynamics and no added color to your tone. When/if you use your Marshall MG 50, I would recommend switching the Firehawk's output mode to 'Amp Out' by the little push switch next to the balanced outs of the Firehawk FX. When going into the front of any amp, make sure to make it as clean and flat as possible so all amp modeling will come through with as little color to the Firehawk's tone as possible. Keep in mind that when using a guitar processor with any traditional amp (such as your Marshall) you will hear and feel many characteristics of the amplifier you're plugging into.
  13. In addition, please check out some set up tips from the following video tutorials we have here under the DT and POD HD series: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/tutorial-videos/line-6-video-tutorials-complete-list-r202 To be authentic, I highly suggest using the amp models 'pre-amp' when going into the DT via L6 Link from you POD HD. Just scroll through the list of amp models till they repeat with -Pre at the end. Looking forward to hearing some dual tones!
  14. Hi siijan92, The FBV2 would be the only FBV foot switch thats compatible for the DT Series. Since the DT Series is only a two channel amp with no FX (other than reverb).
  15. Hey Muzikmark, I don't believe this option is possible with the Express MKII. Which is why we always recommend the shortboard due to its ability. But FBV express has a software entitled: LINE 6 FBV Control that gives a user the option to change midi commands for the use with daws like Garageband, Propellarhead ect.. It may not work, but if you want to dive in deeper for the fun of it, it wouldn't hurt. Check out page 6 for some cool intel on everything you can actually do with an Express MKII http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593cc41922/application/pdf/FBV%20MkII%20Series%20Controller%20Advanced%20User%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20B%20).pdf
  16. Hey airguitargb, I highly recommend giving pages 2.8-2.9 a look over as it goes over the four output options. These options give you the ability to have certain modeling activated or not such as cab, speaker, mic, exc.. It also touches base on using amp model "-pre's". When you go through all the amp models they will repeat with a '-pre' at the end of the model. This is only that amp models pre amp (where the amps tone is). So when using the 500, you can clean up your Marshall and use the preamp from the HD500 and the power amp of your marshall. These options should get you on the right path for the tone you're going for. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434dfb244f7b7f489af64/application/pdf/POD%20HD500%20Advanced%20Guide%20v2.0%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf
  17. Hey Boadey, congrats on your Xmas gift! In regards to your drum machine: The Alesis SR18 has an output labeled "Aux L/R". This out will give you a full stereo output of your drum machine. Get a 1/4 to 3.5mm cable and run that output in the the back on Amplifis AUX input. The Auxiliary input is a line in and not ran through any effects. Plug your guitar in the normal guitar input. The FBV is a great addition. Make sure to update to the latest Firmware. The FBV will give you complete control of individual effects, and the ability to switch between the 100 on board presets. The new firmware also supports recording into any DAW via AMPLIFi's USB out. Merry Christmas!
  18. Hey there, The JTV actually goes to 'sleep' when the volume is turned down and no audio passes through the electronics. Takes a couple minutes to happen, this is the gutars way to keep the battery from die-ing. Keep in mind that when plugged into an HD500 it charges the Variax' battery. In settings you can set the inputs for all inputs (Variax, gui, ect..). When your JTV's volume is turned down all the way (guitar sleeps) then you can pick up the Guitar thats plugged into the 1/4 input and you'll be good to go.
  19. Hey there. The JTV has twice the processing power as its predecessor, which gives the ability to change between tunings and use virtual capo for even more tuning options on the fly. With the acoustics, we also now have the ability to use the tone knob for mic placement, to find that "sweet spot". Since JTV is the latest, that means the latest firmware and hardware giving us the latest and greatest in modeling technology. As for the JTV's at the 900 price is for our standard JTV model. Whereas the 3000 priced JTV's are the US versions that are built to order. The only difference between the two is that the 3000 is made when you order it in the US, and takes about 3 months to build.
  20. Check out: http://line6.com/find/service_center/ I was able to find a store named the POD in Rugby. You can get the stores information by the link above, just put in your zip code. Maybe you can contact them in regards to a repair. Cheers!
  21. That is very interesting. If the factory reset (from above) didn't work try re-flashing the amp. If you have any FBV pedal for your Spider amp, you can connect it via USB to your computer. Using the monkey utility you can update the amp. If this still doesn't work I would too suggest the support ticket.
  22. Yes, you can leave your battery in the charger. The red light starts blinking indicating the charging cycle is finished(stopped), so the battery will not get overcharged/damaged.
  23. As what Triryche said thats correct. When demoing FX100, what has been a solution for me for example would be: Preset A my Rhythm tone, while Preset B is an exact copy of A but with the effect I need engaged.
  24. Hey 365mag, Try adding the noise gate after the amp, before any delays and reverbs to prevent the reverbs and delays from doing their job. For a quick cut off set the decay to zero and the Db to your preference.
