  1. Force mode,... the guitar defers to whatever preset is in the floor effects product. Don't force,... the floor effects product defers to whatever the guitar is set for and giving to the floor product. Check the edit pages in the Helix for this.
  2. If a fuse is blowing, then the amp needs to be serviced at a Line 6 authorized service enter, using the correct parts. Continuing to replace and blow fuses can further damage the amp.
  3. Made by the same company, but the Electro-Harmonix tubes are a premium version of that tube that goes through extra tests with tighter tolerances, which is why we use them and specify them as the tube to use. They also have the correct soft/medium/hard specification we require for these amps. Subtleties that make all the difference between a well running amp verses an amp running on its edges. Same goes for the pre-amp tubes in the DT series of amps.
  4. Looking at its history, I wold say, play it safe and take it a Line 6 authorized service center in your area and have the tubes changed out and the bias and burn-in procedure done on it. Calibrations to be done done by an authorized technician who can dial it in and get you off to a good start, as these require that the analog and digital sections need to talk nice to the other to keep it all running well. Tube change out should be done regularly,... Every 12 to 18 months for serious performance and touring musicians. Every 18 to 22 months for weekend performers. Every 22 to 24 months for bedroom or home studio rock stars who play a couple of hours every couple of weeks. Rock On!!!
  5. Easier to use Workbench HD for getting other pick-up sound instead of physically changing them out.
  6. Thank you. A person on the sales floor will typically get third or fourth hand information. And not always current, as there is also a time lag beyond the pale. Forget any rumors, wait until you hear it officially,... preferably from people here above me.
  7. Supply is flowing again, now we're trying to catch up to it all.
  8. What happened was tariff tiffs, RoHS-3 implementation and compliance checks, Coronavirus, customs politics across a number of countries, all coming down at once, creating bottlenecks in the flow of product in general,.... including Variax guitars. Things are starting to flow again, now it's all about catching up to the orders.
  9. 10 Ohms can make a difference, not certain if it would here. I wouldn't risk it. When was the last time the tubes were changed out? Are they the specified Electro-Harmonix EL84EH and 12AX7EH tubes?
  10. At this time,... no. Idea Scale would be the place to go to submit ideas for features in product. Such a feature would have to be done thru the VDI path, and implemented within the Helix, via the VDI signal path then processed/routed within the Helix, then assigned an output destination. Not something that exists. Idea Scale would be the place to go to make that happen.
  11. Start by having the set-up checked, preferably by a Line 6 authorized service center who knows the product and set-up specs.
  12. Back of the head-stock. When you go into the registration window and click on the product, the prefix will appear and you simply type in the rest of the number from what is on the head-stock.
  13. Are you using Line 6 Link, 110-Ohm cable or regular 50-Ohm mic cable? Impedance matters with this. It requires XLR type, 110-Ohm AES/EBU cable.
  14. These amps power tubes be matched sets, and require biasing. Best to have a Line 6 authorized tech do it so that it's spot on.
  15. Those two links would be fine.
  16. Yes. The guy on the floor of a retailer gets info second or third hand, and not always up to date. And typically only gets paid a commission (sometimes some base pay with it), so they work from a totally different paradigm from me. Very good cruisinon2, on the ball as usual.
  17. Any one of the three. Should be taken in to your nearest L6 authorized service. Start with checking the power, and the transformers, then change out the tubes. There is a calibration and test check procedure, post tube change out check list. Have L6 authorized do it.
  18. Workbench, or Workbench HD? For which guitar?
  19. Yes, but call them first, check to be certain they can do both electronics and guitars. Could be something electronic in the bass guitar that is pulling down the POD, or the other way around.
  20. No buck passing, that's what there is in info so far. That's all we have so far, when I know more, you'll know more.
  21. Both the bass and the POD need to be check by a Line 6 authorized service center. Voltage draw down somewhere cause other issues. Needs to be properly troubleshooted by a Line 6 authorized service center. That will not be user self repairable issue.
